I was not going to give the laboratory from You are still Here any sort of backstory because it was not important to the story and i didnt want to paint any sort of clear villain that wasnt explicitly you BUT i like the idea of this entire thing taking place without any sort of humans (aside from you) being involved. Like everything about this "story" is meticulously crafted by an aritificial intelligence (the Plot Device heh) to the point where even the conflict is artificial and has to be administered manually through the system. There is no humanity in this story just entertainment for the sake of consumption

Unrelated to the ask game but are Obby and Mandy's names a reference or pun to something? :0 the doctors too- I always felt that the character names in that series sound oddly specific but I'm not sure-
Obby and Maddy are short for Oblongata and Medulla. The oblongata medulla is the part of the brain that connects the brain stem to the spinal cord :p All the animals in this story are named after parts of the brain
Dr. Illbit sounds like "drillbit" and Dr. Opper sounds like "dropper" hehe. Crash Bandicoot scientist naming conventions

3. What were their first impressions of each other? How does that compare to their impressions of each other now?
Dr.illbit and dr.opper are rivals and they were competing to see who could figure out interdimensional travel first. So i suppose their respective mice would see each other as rivals too? (once they were granted sapience i mean). The mice didn't know anything besides what they were made to do
When they do finally meet they're probably confused as all hell, the only reason they ended up crossing paths was because both of them were sent through their scientist's respective dimensional machines at the exact same time...
they spend a lot of time navigating their very limited worldview together, everything in this outside world is so new to them and theyre scared of everything always
they sort of developed a codependency in that regard hehe, they're besties forever now whether they wanted it or not

how do you do your 3d models? they look so good
thank you TT_TT I do everything in Blender.
If you're asking specifically how I go about sculpting a 3D model, I guess my answer is that it seems like one of those crafts that has a very steep learning curve (especially in the beginning) but its really as easy as going in there and messing around with the default cube until it looks good haha. If you're a 2D oriented artist you can even import a character reference or whatever and then sculpt directly over the image
just go download Blender and jump in and make your first character model, don't worry about donut tutorials or any of that, it's a very hands on learning experience And its more fun when you just make what you want

Papyrus will offhandedly mention that his brother started a sock collection recently and normally you think it's just another gag. but then you go to their house and there's a sock on the floor and there's also a pile of socks in Sans' room and also Sans will be in the flavor text handing out socks to people during the Shyren fight. Sans really does have a whole damn collection of socks. I love these brothers and their dork hobbies
#in the game i will never make I Will Make sure Sans' inventory always has 1 sock in it.#and if you throw it away it will just reappear in his inventory again
