As I come closer to the profession where I will receive my brown scapular (OCDS) I’m finding the Carmelite saints are speaking more clearly to me. St. Theresa of Avila has a way of dropping bombs on me via words that open my eyes. That makes me grasp the concept of things I thought I already knew. Today I was educated deeply in specific parts of the Lord’s Prayer. I always thought I knew what I was doing when I say “thy will be done” and thought I meant it. Then I read chapter 32 in, The Way of Perfection and realize it means so much more. I thought I was pledging this to my Lord but was really only reciting it. Not due to anything more than lack of understanding. When I came across the prayer pertaining to this my souls jumped a little.
