"okay gross." kaya pointed out, groaning at the comment from her sister. "whatever fine, whatever just-- don't ever talk about that again, i'm kriffing begging." the last thing they wanted was to know any more about whatever situation her sister and kaiden had going on, so hopefully this was the last of it. the question about brinna, however, kaya looks away, a pout in defiance of not actually wanting to answer it, to give their sister that win. "she tried to explain at me how hard it was for my family to lose me so.. nothing i hadn't heard already." they huffed, knowing she was still right, but kaya didn't want to hear it. "he doesn't seem like it, kriya. he just.. seems sad?"

"we are both adults, and can do whatever or whoever we want." and frankly, she's not letting her sister tell her that she can't date an actually normal guy for once in her life. "they didn't know it was you, kaya. she just started problems because you're clearly a jedi. she stopped as soon as she realized who you were, right?" she's sure brinna immediately chilled out when their name came out. "happily." from what danika could tell, the asteri had no power over this world, no way of knowing any of them were here.. and while part of them worried every so often that they would find them here, she had cast that aside, and she was sure as hel not going to let baxian threaten her with the asteri name. "let's say information for information, sound like a deal?" she posed, raising an eyebrow. if he had any connection still to sandriel or the asteri, danika needed to know well before baxian remembered them. "you tell me if the asteri, or any archangels, are aware that you're here, that any of us are here, and maybe i'll tell you who's lurking in the shadows."

of course he had to stumble upon a female who was determined to be fucking difficult, rather than someone who would actually be willing to assist. "you would actively withhold information from an agent of the asteri?" sandriel was one of the asteri's governors, and her triarii acted on her will. anyone who directly refused to assist them was obstructing the asteri's will. "what could you possibly want from me?" she clearly had money, and that was the majority of what people tended to request from him.

fuck, someone must've taken it.. she was certain of that now as she looks around once more for her lost phone. great.. just great. this wasn't going to be annoying as hell to try and replace now. her hands scan over the rest of her body, feeling her card holder still in her jacket pocket. well, at least they didn't take that too. "guess it wouldn't be much help if you saw them or anything, don't need people getting into some fight over a girl they just met." she joked a little, relieved she hadn't woken up to some fight or anything like that. she keeps her hand in his, taking stock of how she felt as he spoke, the offer of a hospital is immediately off putting. "it's not that serious." she had felt dizzy before, and it wasn't the first, nor the last time she was sure, that she would faint. it was just a little concerning that her memory was a little jumbled from it. she would maybe stop by a doctors later if it was still an issue. she weighs his second option, hands still intertwined and their eyes locked, despite the instinctual.. fear? concern? over the color of his eyes, there's an ease to his presence, a comfort in his touch that she can't explain but she doesn't have that same fear over saying yes to just laying down for a bit back at his place. as much as she was sure her sister would kill her for that-- "yeah, yeah that'd be fine. i'll need to call my sister soon, and i think that'll be faster than trying to get to andy's. if you don't mind."

he watches her search for a moment, knowing that she would certainly panic a bit about losing the device. he feels a bit bad about that one, knowing it's sitting in his jacket pocket, but if she'd seen his face as her background, he would have had far too much to explain. he'd make it up to her when she trusted him enough to do so again. he's quiet then, until she directly asks him a question, and he shakes his head in response. "i didn't, no. when i got here, you were knocked out alone." that much was true, he didn't know who'd done it, hadn't seen a trace of whoever had murdered her by the time he'd arrived, because he'd been too slow, too weak. his human self was always too slow, always too weak, that version of him had let liam die, had let sgaeyl come to the brink of death, had let violet die twice. never again. she doesn't pull away from him, and he's sure that some part of her still knows him, knows she's safe with him, even with the bright crimson now covering his eyes entirely. "i can bring you to a hospital, if you want. or you can lay down at my place, it's not far. i can charge my phone and you can call someone to come pick you up."

"old people have feelings?" she asked, her fear only leading to the comments flying out without much thought to it. "what--" she took another step away as he advanced, but she was too slow, his arms wrapping around them as rose attempted to blast him away, any amount of their powers lashing out to help them. "are you sure your friends is over here?" there was a teasing tone to lestat's voice as his eyes watched intently every single move they made. it was his own little fun game of cat and mouse.
