As much as I love Alex with a beard, BeardSteve to me means a stressed out and very depressed Steve. The length and state of his beard, helps people around him determine how bad his mental state is at the time. 

I read a H50/Lucifer crossover where Danny was a warlock whose magic came from Luci. Danny is protective & he loves Steve but imagine being torn from his human duties and his warlock duties to not as much pamper Lucifer but he the warlock version of Maze. I just imagine Steve getting into MORE trouble than usual(which is SUPER hard cos he's already pushing limits!) just cos Danny keeps going to great lengths & dangers with this Lucifer guy who is like British & Dark haired & possibly Dannys type

Oh dear Anon! First off, I thank you greatly for bringing to mind the lovely imagery of the brOPT that is Maze and Danny. 

I don’t know if you’re a fan of Leverage nonny but they sorta give me Eliot and Parker vibes. Danny would teach Maze things about humanity that elude her. Maze loves Trixie so I imagine that she’d love Grace too. Danny would have a mild panic attack at that but not because Maze teaching her how to properly torture and gauge someone’s eyes out but more cos Maze is very comfortable in her body and loves ‘slutty’ outfits and Danny’s overprotective father instincts would go wild...but maybe she likes to rile him up cos she wants to bring out that inner Dark Warlock who she used to party with back in Danny’s college days when his magic reached its dark peak! But I also like that Danny sees that she’s trying...that she at least genuinely cares and they have a bond. And cos it’s Maze and it’s Danny...maybe they have an affair...and maybe Steve walks in like he does at the Williams house and finds a barely clad, leather in this heat, wearing Maze leaving Danny’s place after giving him a teasing kiss and Steve is all jealous and grumpy and confused. He thought Danny was giving Rachel another chance but now Danny’s just...having one night stand with dangerous people? Well he can be dangerous too! 

And then Lucifer if a whole other thing! He’s so hot! And British! And so naughty...he goes around as if he owns everything, walking into crime scenes, walking into offices, and coming out the winner...and on some level Steve likes the guy, likes that the red tape kinda disappears when he’s around but hates how much devotion and love and care Lucifer has for Danny. Because in the realm of Lucifer(TV) if Lucifer did create witches and warlock’s they’d be...not his children because we know how he feels about those. But devoted people who aren’t exactly Satanists, but carry part of his power...part of his blessing!  And Danny’s....Danny. So he would be a special case always. They could have a very complicated relationship...and yes, Lucifer would want in Danny’s pants. But Danny, kinda like Chloe, wouldn’t fall for him...in fact make him work for it. 

And naturally Lucifer would ask Steve, as Danny’s partner, how to win Danny...but because Lucifer’s head over for Chloe he’d piss Steve off by only wanting Danny as a sex partner. Steve would totally want to punch Lucifer’s pretty face for talking about all the things he’d want to do to Danny or Danny to do to him and just talking about him like a piece of meat...not someone he’s trying to woo and be in a relationship with. 

Steve would try to get Danny to see that Lucifer is just trying to use him. That he doesn’t care...and as honest as Danny is with Steve, if Steve realized the supernatural was real...that was a can of worms Danny didn’t want opened. So he had keep Steve from realizing what he was, and who Lucifer really was so he gives Steve a shrug and is like ‘So what?’ Danny’s got kids already...he’s got his job...maybe he’s too old for a relationship and sex with gorgeous people is his thing now. 

Steve would be so confused...hurt...but then a new resolve is born...and he decides that he’s going to romance the pants off of Danny. He’s going to prove that romance isn’t dead...that Danny deserves a relationship with a partner who will be there the morning after to keep his bed warm with him, to cook for him, to be there when he’s wounded or sick...to be there for the good and bad times... 

Danny later points out that those are basically vows. And Steve’s like, ‘You’re right...okay then. Yes!”

“Yes?”

“I’ll marry you Danny.”

“I...Steve, I wasn’t...that...what?” 

Steve pulls Danny in for a kiss, gentle and kind, “I’m going to marry you...and show you how you deserved to be treated as a husband...” 

“Yeah, alright.” 

And that is how they got married. 

Ella and Eric get together to plan the two different bachelor parties that start off at different locations before they converge together. It is insanely chaotic...like...Jersey Shore meets a Quinceanera. It’s lit! strippers and shots and the best party the island’s ever had. 

As much as Steve hates being sick, if Danny ever took care of anyone(outside of his kids anyway) Steve would probs be the kinda guy who would try to get sick just to have Danny doting on him.

Oh my god that is true. Like...this is all very valid. I find it kinda funny, like the mental images that come to mind are just...Steve, for all that Danny likes to 'nag' him, is a pretty healthy dude. (Like...aside from radiation poisoning, stabbings, punches, bullets...I mean internally against flus and colds and stuff. I gotta specify that with Steeb xD) So Steve 'getting sick' is waaaaaaaaaaaaay harder than he thinks. He does every thing his parents told him not to do as a kid or he'd get sick. The horrible irony would fall on him that he'd get sick the week that Danny's in Jersey.

Danny confiscates all of the Victoria Secret coupons that arrive for Grace in the mail because he can't stand the idea of his baby girl in VS(logically he knows they sell more than lingerie but there's a FatherOverideSwitch that goes haywire when he sees her name on the VS coupon book) But Steve won't let a good sale pass so all what I'm saying is that Steve's got a drawer full of nice lacy thongs and panties he wears cos he likes and Danny also likes and he got them on sale.

I feel a bit bad for Grace for missing out on a good bra sale but I totally agree with you. Like...everything you said. 100% true, nonny. 

Steve was saved by a cat as a child. Like...with everything going on at home, I can see Steve wanting to not be a problem child...stuck between ‘don’t get in trouble’ and ‘man up/don’t be a baby’ if he was getting bullied, he wouldn't really tell... so headcanon that Steve’s love of cats comes from a random stray just going hell crazy on an older kid bullying Steve. 

And Steve saw this street cat, barely 5 pounds if that, shaggy looking, but fierce stare, claws, and fangs bared and scarring the bully for life. 

Steve makes sure the cat doesn’t get caught and helps feed it on his walk from school. The cat actually follows him and learned where he lived. When Steve got lonely, he’d go and hang out with his street cat friend named Tom. (gettid? Tom Cat? xD there are two references in that btw)

He wished he could adopt it but Mary’s got allergies and even if she can be a bit annoying, he still loves her.

I sometimes forget that Chloe Decker's actress was on h5-0 & it's hilarious to me cos Chloe Decker is basically a female version Danny, down to the point where she calls Trixie Monkey like Danny does to Grace. The show trying to sorta ship her with Steve is almost insulting cos it insinuates that had Danny been Daniela McDanno would have had a biological kid by season 4. And trying to ship her with Danny kinda makes Danny Narcissus in my eyes. To be far to Danny, if I were Danny, I'd fuck me too

I love when Danny goes undercover. 

Imagine him going undercover as a drama student/teacher. Like maybe the way he grew up in Jersey...I see him as a Jersey tough guy, so I dunno...I feel like if Danny was interested in the arts, it would be looked down on for some reason. So total headcanon that Danny’s a closeted theater geek. So someone hurting/killing theater students and Danny’s chosen as the one to go undercover and he’s amazing. And idk, I also love the show Leverage, idk if you guys would know it but like, I can see Sophie coming in because it was one of her theater friends who was killed and she came to get revenge on whoever did it and she was Danny’s original acting coach...hell once upon a time Rachel thought Sophie was an ‘other woman’ and Nate totally thought Danny was one of Sophie’s boyfriend’s. 

Danny thinks Steve’s gonna give him a hard time about it. Cos they’re always teasing each other about the smallest thing, so how could this NOT become a topic for Steve to make fun of him. But he doesn’t. He was there when Danny and the teacher acted out a scene...a love scene...and Steve was spellbound and...jealous 

McDanno Harry Potter AU Headcanon

Steve hated Dementors. 

Yeah, they’re not the most common of creatures but in the military, chasing some of the worst, it’s more common than for civilians. And Steve hated them. Whenever he and his team had to encounter them, he could never produce a Patronus. He had to rely on someone else on his team to have had a happy enough moment for them to conjure one or else they were all screwed. Even if he had thrilling and exciting and happy-ish memories, none of them were strong enough to conjure a freaking Patronus!

Fast forward to the present where there’s a dangerous escaped criminal on the loose and the Ministry has set loose Dementors to go after them. 

Just so happens that the good ole McGarrett Luck comes through and he, Grace, and some other Aloha Girls get lost during a trip and encounter a pack of Dementors. 

Steve is terrified because this is the one beast he’s never bested. Give him a Minitour, a Centaur, a dragon! A freaking giant Spider! Anything but this! 

Steve pulls his wand out, but it shakes with nerves...he’s prepared to distract the Dementors and tell Grace and girls to make a run for it, but he knows that when they finish with him, they won’t stop. 

He forces the spell out...at first it’s just sparks. When Grace speaks, fear in her voice with ‘Uncle Steve?’ Steve’s resolve strengthens. He’s not alone anymore. He’s not just a miserable soldier. He’s got a family now...and hell yeah he’s happier! 

He thinks of his team, he thinks of the good they do on the island...he thinks of Grace...and he thinks of Danny. Their first I love yous, platonically and romantically, thinks of all the times he thinks he’s breathed his last breath, only to wake up to Danny, he thinks of their first kiss...

McDanno Wedding Dance practice. 

Like...I haven’t been married but I watch enough TV to know that couples have to decide a dance to do...which is different than their first dance. 

So one) really romantic image of Danny and Steve slow dancing to their song as husband and husband...both totally emotional, might be some happy tears cos they never thought they could be so happy...

TWO) CAN YOU GUYS IMAGINE THEM PRACTICING THEIR DANCE?!?! Like first of all?? What would it be? Second of all, who the fuck gets to lead? CAN YOU IMAGING THESE TWO KINDA PERFECTIONIST BANTERING EACH OTHER ABOUT STEPS????

and two point five...you can’t tell me Steve won’t seduce Danny in the dance studio after everyone’s gone.

I can’t explain why...but I feel like Danny would have gone to a lot of raves in his teen/young adult/college years 

And like...maybe every once in a while he still goes out to party like that. Steve accidentally finds out cos he shines a blacklight on Danny and it reveals some glow in the dark paint going down his shirt. And Steve being Steve isn’t below ripping Danny’s shirt open to see the rest. 

It’s Danny’s way of letting loose and being gay. He’s sort of scared of coming out and just tells half the story, which is he likes to party. But it only just makes Steve feel kinda old cos Danny’s never invited him to a rave and thinks that Danny thinks that he can’t handle it. 

Problems don’t stop but get worse when the next suspect of their latest case is one of Danny’s partners and so Danny is the guy’s alibi and it’s NOT how he wanted to come out but he can’t, in good conscience, let the guy get locked up. 

The case is solved but the air around the office is tense. Slowly, one by one, each of the teammates tells Danny something akin to that it’s okay, no judgment, they’re there for him and still love him. The last one to tell him something was Steve... it was hella awkward. And it would be a week later that Steve does something. They’re working a case, and they go in undercover and Steve kisses Danny to keep their cover...but it wasn’t a simple peck or even lips to lips....it was full make-out mode, tongue and everything. When Steve pulled back, he looked mesmerized, panting heavily, gulped hard as the realization of what he did sunk in.... but he wasn’t pulling away. 

They managed to work through the rest of the case without incident but once it was over and everyone else went home, Danny cornered Steve in his office to demand, ever so kindly, ‘what the ever-loving fuck, Steven?’ 

Steve had no excuse. He just went on instinct, and he tells Danny that since he learned about Danny’s sexuality that it’s something that hasn’t left him alone and he just...he just acted. Naturally, Danny made Steve explain himself fully. He wasn’t going to act on very strong feelings that have built up for over a decade on what might be a whim or a passing fancy...once he’s fully sure that Steve wants it at the same level he wants it, then he goes all in. 

It’s about half a year into their relationship, after they’ve tested the waters and decided what they like, what they’re into...what they’ve gotten comfortable with, that Steve wants to go to a rave with Danny. Danny’s not sure Steve’s...rave ready. Steve pouts the whole day, but once they get home Danny’s got a surprise for him. All the lights are off, Danny’s only wearing a neon-colored speedo with glow in the dark paint. ‘Property of Steve’ with an arrow pointing down to his crotch made Steve blush and smirk as he strips down and kisses Danny, they dance to Rave music before painting each other, before making out and making a mess and then making love. 

Steve struggled a lot becoming comfortable with his sexuality. It was much harder than he thought. He knew, without a doubt, that he loved Danny. But he grew up with a certain brand image engraved into his brain about what being a manly man was. Not only was he a man’s man, he was a military man too. 

Thing was, Danny was more than okay going at Steve’s pace...doing whatever Steve was comfortable. Whether it was just them two having dinner without the team, not even going as far as holding hands but it being aware, between the two of them that it was a date-date. Or whether it was fucking like bunnies in the back of a bar’s alley before either going to their own homes or sharing a bed. 

For a while, Steve did revel in all of that but then it...it felt like something was missing. 

As he began to accept himself, who he loved, a lot of the things he was curious about when he was younger but he pushed waaaaay down, began to surface. A problem with Steve...is voicing what he wants. He’s never been in a relationship where it’s ever felt this equal. Danny carries as much of a burden as he does and even before, he knew no matter what he could trust Danny. But indulging was something still new to him. Yeah, he’s allowed himself to have more delicious food for more than just it being fuel, he’s some times even let himself sleep in or nap, after a very long a grueling case or week. But this...this was so much harder. 

Thank god he has Danny. The blond can read him like a book and knows to ease Steve in. They start out very vanilla...the quick fucks where Steve has to take about twenty minutes or so before he can look at Danny again become sessions of lovemaking, looking into each other's eyes. After that they start off slow with things like bringing in whip cream or chocolate syrup. And that slowly opens up the window of kinks. And Steve slowly becomes comfortable with relying and trusting Danny to satisfy every single one of his needs.

I just want to write how much I love McDanno and just incredible Alex/Scott dynamics, chemistry. But since I'm quite a newbie in this fandom I wanna ask... Am I late to the party? B/c it's season 10 already, McDanno is not canon (pls tell me there is even slightest possibility that they will eventually go for it) and Scott is about to have even fewer eps in the next season as far as I read... Is it really so hopeless and sad? :(

Hi there! First off, welcome!  With how fandoms are now a day, I can understand the feeling of being overwhelmed or even kind of shy or scared to enter a fandom that people have lived through. We are getting a season ten so Hawaii 5-0 has been/will be a decade long thing. My suggestion to you if to give it the fandom content a try. Ignoring the fanbase itself and decide if the show and its characters are something that interests you. If the answer is yes, then it doesn’t matter if the show has years in it and you’ve only just started. Keep watching it and enjoying it until the end or until there’s a point you personally reach where it no longer interests you. That’s my advice for any show or fandom in general. 

Now for Hawaii 5-0 specifically. Alex/Scott have an AMAZING chemistry and it’s what gave the McDanno ship life. It’s more profound in earlier seasons. As you do go into further seasons they introduce new characters, new dynamics and they’re always testing waters to see what works and what doesn’t. And you also have to take into consideration that as much as we adore these actors and the characters they play, they are human beings who make choices and have family to think about outside of the show. 

Other than that, a view has to keep somewhat in mind about the network, producers, writers...if it were just up to the actors themselves, McDanno would have been canon a long time ago. It’s well known within the fandom that Scott’s kinda the McDanno Captain. 

Will it ever be canon? I can’t say. Do I hope that as their last ballsy move in a series finally when it does end, it ends with Steve and Danny finally making it clear that they want an actual romantic/sexual relationship...to actually be boyfriends...that would be one hell of a power move. And maybe it’s just wishful thinking, but I’m hoping for it. But I”m also a realist. I do think Hawaii 5-0 and McDanno is important and helping pave the way for future shows and having the main characters, who are the same sex, realize that after a decade of going to extremes for each other, being there when it’s just the mundane, who have created this level of trust that goes beyond words...that it is a love that while it’s amazing platonically, these are also two healthy, sexually active attractive people who would bone....and have it be accepted and canon and it doesn’t have to take away much from whatever the story of the show is trying to take away. 

I can’t speak for everyone but personally keep watching 5-0, yes for the McDanno, but along the way, these characters were so complex but funny and brilliant and fierce, and I felt like they became family. A show is sometimes as strong as it’s ‘side characters’ and Hawaii 5-0 has some of the best side characters ever who are there more than just once for mere convenience and fitted into the lives of the task force. 

I’m not too sure what season ten brings. Rumors are best taken with a grain of salt. The McDanno community here is great. I follow a lot of amazing McDanno blogs that even though McDanno isn’t technically canon, the way some of these blogs create content, it’s hard to not think it is. 

So, all in all, McDanno is stronger in earlier seasons. That’s more of the ‘dating’ stage. In later seasons, it’s more like they’re basically more than married and are comfortable in their relationship that they don’t need to be at each other’s side 24/7(even though we love it when they are). There will be moments when you ask wtf the writers are doing but my advice is to find the McDanno shippers on here, and let them hold your hand and show you what could be. Hawaii 5-0 is a really good show, it has action, and a lot of heart underneath it all. With characters you will love individually and together. It’s not hopeless just more unlikely and not sad as much as somber. McDanno Shippers are those beautiful people who can see the beauty of what could be but are grounded enough to see the world for what it is.  

Any show is a case to case thing. Everyone is different. If it’s for you and you like it, don’t let anyone stop you from watching it or liking it. If you try it and you just don’t want to, same way don’t let anyone force you to keep watching it. It’s all about you, darling. Because sometimes I think in fandom we forget that it’s entertainment. It’s for fun...not fan wars, or loyalties to a character/ship/some other third thing.  I feel like I”m rambling now but that’s my take on it and I hope it helps. I’ll personally keep watching because Hawaii 5-0 for me has the perfect balance of being funny, clever, action pact...there are feels but they’re extremely heavy each episode. It’s something I can watch that’ll make me feel lighter, more loved, more understood, and gives me hope thinking there are people like 5-0 actually out there.

On one hand: I see Steve being respectful of Rachel because he’s really awesome but most if not ALL that respect is solely due to the fact that she’s the mother of Danny’s children and they like/love her, and he loves the kids. 

On the other hand: I can totally see Steve wearing an apron that legit reads “Danny’s best partner ever in all of the history in which Danny has existed” whenever she comes to pick up the kids. The real pain was choosing the font so it could all read neatly on the apron. 

McDanno gets roped into doing one of those ‘newlywed/know your partner’ gamesshows and they win. All proceeds go to the widows and orphan funds :)
