I only know like two other people irl who like this game, and Clive's permanently intense face is a running joke among us.

My face is having uncontrollable spasms. Great. It hurts really, really, really bad.
I think part of why I have trouble explaining pain to the doctor is when they ask about the pain scale I always think “Well, if someone threw me down a flight of stairs right now or punched me a few times, it would definitely hurt a lot more” so I end up saying a low number. I was reading an article that said that “10” is the most commonly reported number and that is baffling to me. When I woke up from surgery with an 8" incision in my body and I could hardly even speak, I was in the most horrific pain of my life but I said “6” because I thought “Well, if you hit me in the stomach, it would be worse.”

Sketched several FF16 comic ideas last year, and with the DLCs coming out, seems like a good time to finish a couple!

I am currently in the process of finally taking The Clifford Spock Incident wide! In layman's terms, it'll be available in lots of different places.
Like Barnes and Noble. And Neptune.
And if the book does well, then...

I was looking for something else and found this spoof of the Clarinet Boy Meme that @spookyscribe made for me back in 2018.
The file title? "beautiful" 😂😂😂

More WIPs from that mystery fan project (though we do see a pretty recognizable character here, whatevs), the point is I wanted to upload these to note for posterity that the kid on the top left WAS going to get "Heel" as his surname because he got a foot cut off before his death. Because I have a terrible sense of humor.
But it had to be omitted for reasons. Sigh.
Or should I say.... it had to be CUT OUT bwahaha.

Me, trying to fall asleep last night:
Insomnia brain: Hey so those two big pages you're working on...
Me: Yes they're going to be really difficult. Shut up. Insomnia brain: ...actually for pacing purposes-- Me: no Insomnia brain: Shouldn't they be Me: NO Insomnia brain: Merged into one giant monster page? The flow would be so much better, and you'd be a little less obsessively afraid of your readers getting bored. Me: Me: FINE 😓😢😭 Insomnia brain: I'm so glad we had this talk ☺️☺️☺️

So the main reason these look weird is because the character is becoming more and more active and interacting with the backgrounds, which is good. Not including the character yet because I want to focus on the backgrounds right now.
I think they're all on the right track except... the icicles on the shed and the water in the 1st one. They both are driving me NUTS.
But the rest is looking okay so far. This whole project is going to have a fairly limited color palette, and I loooooove it so far <3

First we had "snow panel" and then "city panel" (see the last post), and now the "garbage panel." That is the file's actual name. I feel like it says something about my life that I have an entire panel dedicated to literal garbage, but... let's not think about that.

Another background for that in-progress project. Worked late to finish it and was feeling really crabby, but took another look at it while considering whether to post it or not, and was like... hey, I kind of like it! :D <<<< This is one of THE best feelings with art imo

Begging people to stop reblogging this AI trash from “The Phantom Painter” on Instagram (instagram.com/phantom.painting). I’ve been seeing it on my dash more and more often from people who are otherwise anti-AI and either can’t tell it’s AI or don’t care because it looks cool.
This is the kind of shit that is VERY CLEARLY trained on the works of existing talented artists’ with distinct styles and this asshole is selling prints and making a profit off of stealing other people’s hard work.
Don’t give people like this money or attention and they will go away.
Please, if you’re going to buy art prints, buy them from an actual artist.

Getting a lovely new cover from MIBLART in order to publish a paperback of The Clifford Spock Incident also involved getting these mockups from them -- but I don't (currently) have a hardback version, so I couldn't put these on my main website, since it could be seen as false advertising. So here we are!
Love how the cover turned out 🥰🥰🥰
If you haven't read The Clifford Spock Incident yet, it's Men in Black meets Lilo & Stitch meets Close Encounters of the Third Kind, with cats and sociopath dinosaur-like alien assassins. (I mean, the cats are also sociopaths, but that's a given.) If that sounds like fun, it can be found on both Kindle and Kindle Vella - plus the lovely new paperback version (also on Amazon)!
