talk shop tuesday! what were you drawing the most as a kid/when you just started drawing? do you still come back to that topic? has it shaped the way you draw today or have you moved in completely other direction?

hi !! ty for the ask (even though I'm answering it so late lol sorry!!)

I actually drew mainly the same character (and still kinda do), it's an oc from a story I started with my best friend haha

the story is convoluted and mostly just middle school ramblings, but I can show you some drawings of the oc

these are pretty old haha

she still figures in my doodles today though!!

I guess I've always drawn stuff from either fandom or this very specific story, so I haven't strayed too far from my starting point !!

here's an art piece (bit smaller than A4 for scale) that's on another wall in my room ! it's a painting of an image/digital collage of Crowley that I found on pinterest

talk shop tuesday! what is something you're proud of/feel confident about in your art? i'd say you're really good at colouring and capturing likeness, but what do you think?

thank you sm!!! I never really thought I was good at colouring lol, I've yet to learn actual colour theory but @stxrddst has helped me a lost these past few years!

something that I'm proud of with my art is just being able to draw quickly !! it keeps me from obsessing over small details and I can draw more stuff this way. (Lots of people have been impressed at how fast I doodle on my worksheets lol)

I'm also pretty happy that I can draw traditionally and have physical artworks in my room (I even keep a post-it wall with random doodles !!). it's just neat to have an actual physical painting on my wall and to be able to gift that stuff to my friends!!

talk shop tuesday! in your traditional art you use all kinds of tools and you're very skillful with all of them, but do you have one that you prefer the most? and why?

I think that mechanical pencils might be my favourite tools, kind of a basic answer but I find them very satisfying to use. after that I LOOOVE this one gel pen that's from the brand muji I think??

it is SO good for doodles but the ink runs out very fast and it's not waterproof,,,,

as for colouring, I love watercolours a lot, but they take a bit more effort :') I still gotta finish the piece from last week...

hi vryfmi!! thank you for the ask!!

I stay in my comfort zone in my little doodles I draw throughout the day, but once I'm actually drawing something substantial I like to experiment a bit!!

in my doodles, I don't colour anything in and only draw shoulders up

I've been trying some new stuff out though!!

I'll post a drawing I made of Link soon, I tried to draw a full body in a different artstyle and use watercolours! I think it turned out pretty good but we'll see lol.

I'm also working on another drawing of Link :) this is way out of my comfort zone since I'm not using lineart and directly painting with watercolour, and also experimenting with poses and multiple bodies in one drawing... we'll see if I ever finish it though lol

I hope every single person who puts nice comments in tags under reblogged art knows that you you guys are the backbone of society. Being an artist online sucks these days, but here on tumblr I still get compliments under artworks that I made years ago. I hope you know every WOW and heart emoji and heartfelt compliment and funny comment you left in the tags is part of the reason I kept drawing all these years, in spite of everything that was going on.

I've been screenshotting the nice tags I get for years, and at this point it would be literal thousands of lines if I still had my old files. I love u tumblr users <333333333
