something so fucked up about Chat Noir’s whole deal is that he is in a lot of ways Adrien playing a character. Like Adrien picked up his miraculous and was told he’d be a superhero so he was like “ok, time to act like a superhero!” and he lets himself have fun w it and play up the role and let loose and kind of just allow himself to be silly and goofy and have fun and for once in his life not care about performing Perfection™.
But. But none of the other characters KNOW THAT. So everyone just sees Chat Noir and is like “look at this guy’s ego. He’s so full of himself. Surely it’d be fair to knock him down a few pegs” without being aware of how few pegs he actually HAS. He’s like the “insecure character who overcompensates in ego” trope except he’s really not doing it unironically, he’s just having a fun LARP pretending to have self worth in his off-hours but nobody else is on the same page about it being a game and he refuses to tell them. He just dramatically pouts about it and lets them laugh and pretends like he’s not internalizing it and it is almost 3 am and my brain forced me to write this instead of sleeping I’m gonna take a melatonin

I think ml is best enjoyed when we all agree we watch an extremely flawed show and yet realize that most everyone just. deeply loves these characters. so many people have been watch for 5+ years—that’s a lot of emotional and life investment.
I think ppl who are overjoyed about the setup or feel at least alright with the s5 ending should talk about it; I think ppl who feel extremely let down, confused, or all around disappointed should talk about it. honestly the whole conversation has been pretty stunted the last few months which surprised me; I expected these conversations to be had july 2nd lol. and yet I think everyone has been pretty respectful to each other. I love seeing everyone’s opinion!! if someone asks for discussion or wants to see a different POV, then I think that’s great!! sometimes people just want to rant or rave though. some people will post to start an intentional discussion; some people won’t (and that’s ok!)
and if you’re someone who tries to intentionally knock someone else’s happiness with the ending, you’re lame. if you try and engage with someone who isn’t happy with it and only try and convince them as a way to “win” or you somehow feel they “don’t get it” in a very derogatory way, you’re lame. go read a fic and take a nap. there’s a lot of fun to be had in fandom so no reason to create grief lol.

Oh, they're gonna condensate what could've been a solidly built relationship with good and progressive development into a rushed 1 season thing because they spent the last 4 playing cat and mouse with the characters, making them have totally irrelevant filler secondary love interests (the characters themselves aren't irrelevant or filler just their role as love interests), petty fights, consecutive memory losses and infinite rejections? Yeah, okay, yeah... I'm not saying right away that I'm gonna hate Adrienette this season (because let's face it I thought Kagami and Luka were gonna be terrible additions and look what the name of this blog is now) but I'm pessimistic about this, yes. Do I hate Adrienette? No. Am I gonna adore them going out? Yeah. Does any of this change the concerns previously mentioned in this post and the following feeling of disappointment to come from their confirmation? Probably not. Hotel? Overused joke that I will not propag-Trivago.

Really like this, I think you might be onto something!
Félix isn't a sentimonster, AMELIE IS!
This is just a theory, so let me explain!
There is a scene in episode Gabriel Agreste that most people consider to be the confirmation that Félix is a sentimonster. So, I will first address the body language and dialogue there.
When Félix first approaches the painting of Emilie, we see one of the first moments where he shows a softer side of himself.
He reaches out to touch the painting, and then hesitates. Keep this in mind going forward.
Gabriel appears, asking about Emilie's ring, insisting repeatedly that it is her ring before saying, "I am Gabriel Agreste, and I do indeed have every power I need to find my wife's ring, including the power to destroy your life." There are many ways to destroy someone's life without being taken as literally meaning killing someone. In this case, Félix has a dead father, and his mother is his sole caretaker. If Gabriel were to kill his mother, Félix becomes an orphan - a situation that most people would consider a tragedy, or *life destroying* for a child.
Gabriel follows up by saying, "And now you know that I only need to snap my fingers to make you dissapear from here." I find this phrasing particularly interesting. Most people would have ended the sentence by saying, "to make you dissapear." So why would Gabriel use the words "from here." Those last two words imply forcing someone out of the way by removing them from a particular place, NOT by erasing them entirely. I think this scene is meant to mislead us.
THIS is the dialogue that stands out most to me in this scene as confirmation. Gabriel says, "Do you want to take that risk, Félix? Think of your mother." The audience is most likely to interpret these words as a threat to kill Félix, and then appeal to his emotions by referencing the pain his mother would go through by losing a child. BUT I think it is just as likely to mean, "Are you willing to bargain with your mother's life?" He should think of his mother because it is HER life on the line if Félix refuses to comply.
Félix then backs up against the painting with his arms out and his hands faced backwards. If Félix were defending himself, his arms would be raised in front of his body, protecting himself from harm. Instead, his current stance and movement is a gesture most often associated with blocking danger and protecting someone behind them. This camera angle is not by accident, it wants us to see him protecting who is behind him - the painting.
In episode Strike Back, the audience begins to feel sympathy towards Félix, interpreting this scene as him hurting after watching *people like him* (other sentimosnters) be killed. But, after rewatching some of these scenes that "proved" Félix is a sentimonster... All of his actions/reactions feel like they make a little more sense if you view Amelie as the Senti instead. His character as a whole makes more sense. How he interacts with his mother versus other characters. How hurt he is by seeing other sentimonsters destroyed, rather than having a fear response that would align with self-preservation. They align more with loving someone and feeling pain at the thought of losing them, rather than with the feeling of fearful self-preservation. He hurts because he cares for *one of them.* He knows what Sentis are capable of because he was raised with love by one. He wants to give them a chance at life the same way he is fighting to give his mother that same chance.
Finally, I began wondering the "How/Why" of the situation. I wanted to see if there were prior hints to this theory, so I jumped backwards in time to episode Félix, the scene where Félix and Amelie make their first appearance. When Félix first arrives, he attempts to shake Gabriel's hand. Instead of shaking it, Gabriel glances down toward his hidden hands and tightens them a bit. Felix's face shifts from formal to confused. This is the first time we see Gabriel guarding his ring. This camera angle showing the ring is no mistake, but this episode also aired before the SentiAdrien theory was mainstream, so people automatically dismissed Gabriel's refusal to shake as his dislike for his nephew - this interpretation was only strengthened as Félix went on to cause problems the entire episode.
Following the refusal, Amelie peaks around at his hands and discovers the ring. Once she notices it she fusses at Gabriel for never responding to her messages about wishing to receive her sister's ring back. Amelie insists that the rings be returned, stating, "Those jewels have always been in the Graham de Vanily family, NOT the Agreste's." This means these rings have been around for a long time, prior to Emilie's marriage. Also, if Emilie was the last holder of the Peacock miraculous, a question remains: How did she come into possession of it? I believe she had the Peacock miraculous BEFORE meeting Gabriel, meaning that the miraculous was also a part of the Graham de Vanily family. This means that Amelie could very well have been created by her own parents, or even her own sister, attaching her to the ring before Emilie and Gabriel were married. So, a Graham de Vanily created both Amelie AND Emilie's son. Amelie created with Emilie's ring, and Adrien created with Gabriel's ring after their marriage. Both beings born out of love.
Let me know what you think! Please add your own thoughts! Debunk it. Add evidence. It was an interesting consideration I had and wanted to share!
