OC commission finished (glazed version).
This was really fun to work on as I've never drawn a gith before (haven't gotten to draw Lae yet!). I'm a lil bummed about the distortions due to Glaze but I can't run it on higher quality than lowest (supposed to take 20 mins, om my computer it took 2+ hours). Let's just hope this AI thing renders itself unusable soon so we can chill a bit.

Okay you know what? The time keeps going up so I’m gonna do this tomorrow instead when I’m in a seminar and won’t just sit and stare for 4 hours
Fuck AI and fuck tumblr for selling out to them
Would have been done and finished and sent off with my latest comm by now but instead I’ve been trying to wrangle my computer into running Glaze for the past hour (thank you tumblr). So far issues that have appeared are
my VPN malfunctioned and the files wouldn’t download
closed my VPN and downloaded but the VPN reconnected at the end, fucking up the download
finally got it downloaded (VPN on, somehow working now?)
windows declaring the file harmful and refusing to let me run it despite running it as admin
having to google around until I find how to make windows run it for me
my C: drive being too full for the data to load (that drive was full when I bought the computer??? Like I have to put everything on D: but programs won’t run on it and also ASUS this is a gaming computer why was the C: disc full when I bought it?????)
cue me clearing all cookies, deleting and moving files
to now, where it finally loaded correctly
Now let’s see if this works!

What is this about the tumblr staff wanting to sell art data to midjourney?
An ex-colleague of mine mentioned yesterday that there may be contacts between Automattic and midjourney in that direction, but nothing is public yet and I don't have any more info. They probably won't have anything specific to share either, since they left the company weeks ago too. That being said:
I have no reason to doubt my ex-coworker word, they are a trustworthy person.
Tumblr's CEO has been absurdly enthusiastic (comically, even) about AI, and is a big fan of LLMs and 'AI' companies.
A deal with midjourney could solve tumblr financial issues (not the same company, but openAi is paying up to 5 million/year to news companies to use their content as training data... tumblr generates several orders of magnitude more content than any newspaper or any media company and it only would need a 20 to 30 million per year deal to be profitable)
So I don't have any extra info yet, but I'm keeping my ears open.
