When Regulus was a toddler, he was terrified of water since his parents would make him bathe every day and would be really rough and leave him in the bath by himself. One day, when the regulus was four, his parents told him he needed to bathe alone and locked him in the bathroom. Regulus tried to copy what his parents would do, like running the bath and taking the shampoo bottles out of the cupboard, but he couldn't even get in the bath because he was too small. He got frustrated and started to cry. When Sirius heard his little brother, he immediately came to his aid. At six years old, Sirius picked the lock and made his way into the bathroom. Sirius found Regulus crying on the floor with his head in his hands. Sirius slowly walked up to him and told him to move his hands away from his face. He whispered, "Soothing sounds to his little brother." Sirius then ran the Bath with warm water and helped Regulus undress. With great difficulty, Sirius lifted Him into the tub. Sirius then wet a flannel with the water and washed away Regulus's tears. Sirius spent a lot of time washing Regulus hair, which Regulus seemed to like.

Sirius would help regulus bathe up till he got older and learned to do it himself and regulus was on longer afraid of water.

When regulus was in the cave Drowning he never felt afraid. He felt only peace and thanked Sirius for helping him find good in water not pain.
