Avoiding “fake” carers and regressors

Being in the community we are in, there are a lot of hurdles to jump over to feel safe. One of those is people who pretend to be one thing only to make you feel vulnerable. So here are tips on how to avoid those situations! 1. Take note of when someone begins talking to you for seemingly no reason. Notice what kind of posts you’ve made leading up to that point. Take note of any they have interacted with. What you post can have a lot to do with why someone talks to you. Especially if you post original content that features pictures of you. If it seems as though they started talking to you immediately after you posted a picture of yourself, most of the time they are not a safe person to talk to. 2. Check their blog as well. A person’s blog says a lot about them. If you see something that may be suspicious, be careful around that person. If they have their likes open for view, check those as well. See what sort of content they are into. If their blog is empty, this is a red flag. Do not talk to that person.  3. Have a DNI and adhere to it. Steer clear of k/i/n/k if your blog is regression related. If you need a DNI banner, feel free to request one from us! 4. Subscribe to a blocklist! This can help you steer clear of people who have already been outted as fake. Also, if you happen across a fake or someone who breaks your DNI, please let someone know so it can be added to the blocklist. Our blocklist tag here is #blackholesre. Please let us know of anyone we should add to this.  5. Do not get invested in a serious relationship with someone you meet online unless you know for a fact that they are who they say they are. If you have any doubts, be cautious.  6. Trust your gut. If you feel that something is off, then something probably is. Do not take risks with your safety.  Please stay safe everyone!
