spring draws near
for a warm embrace,
winds flutter close -
a tender caress.
their affection is fleeting,
momentary,
unlike my love for you.
it endures
when the rest of the world
pauses,
holds their breath,
for it would be still,
stunned,
by my love for you.
it is eternal,
fervent,
woven
in my whole existence

“you should be at the club” i should be by the sea. i should be in the mountains. i should be awestruck and rendered speechless by the majesty of the natural world. if you even care

Anyway, no-fault divorce, easy access to birth control, and abortion on demand all serve to make families stronger, healthier, happier, and more robust, because they allow family to be a matter of choice rather than a means of social control and violence.

heya! sorry for not posting as much as I used to, i'm a bit overwhelmed with school. nonetheless, I still made progress with my Latin learning journey, and since the exam season has passed, i decided to teach you all a common phrase again and explain the grammar behind it.
carpe diem
contrary to popular belief, carpe diem doesn't mean seize the night, but in fact seize the day. carpe is the singular imperative form of carpere, which means to harvest, pluck or seize. the imperative form of a word is used when it is expressed as a command.
diem is the singular accusative form of dies, which can be translated as day. in latin, the noun that is doing the action is called nominative, while the noun that is receiving the action is called accusative. In this phrase, diem (day) is being seized, that's why it is in the accusative form. In English, subjective nouns are the same as nominative, and objective nouns are also known as accusative.
Here's a tip for remembering the differences between nominative and accusative. accusatives are being accused. also, singular accusatives always end with ''m'!
thank you so much for reading, i really appreciate it 🥹please tell me if I made any mistakes, i will correct it asap, feel free to leave feedback below :)
p.s. i recently made some worksheets for little kids that are inspired by montessori, please check them out if you're interested! https://lovelillibetbunny.gumroad.com/

gta 6 leak case
18 year-old Arion Kurtaj, who was apart of the international Lapsus$, received a life sentence for leaking gta 6, a highly anticipated game. the life sentence is not to be spent in jail, but inside a mental hospital because of extreme autism. he supposedly hacked the game using a fire stick, a tv, and his phone. personally i think it’s silly that he got a life sentence for hacking a video game when there’s people who commit actual horrific crimes that get very little jail time, but oh well.

new york times v. united states
a required case for ap gov, this case is about when president nixon and his administration tried to stop the new york times from publishing news about pentagon papers that were leaked. the leaked documents had information about what was going on vietnam. the court ruled that this was a violation of the first amendment, therefore unconstitutional. this case is so important in my opinion because it shows that the president is not an all powerful being, that the president still had consequences. that the people have a right to know whats going on in the world.

how would you define love?
In med school, we're taught that love is a complex concoction of hormones, synapses, memory. Think of a cliff, 150 feet of rock and air and water. Now think of a forest fire- raging and burning, smoking parts of your heart on its way. I think love is the burning, love is the forest and love is the water you pour over the flames. I can't say about hormones but when you love someone, they give you peace- it's like the first flowers of spring, it's like finding your religion and kissing your god. I don't know if I can define love but it is very close to seeing thunderstorms at night from the shelter of your room- full of sparks and tingling and also safety. I don't know if I can define love but it wakes you up in the morning, gives you fear and stops you from jumping off the cliff. A concoction of hormones, synapses and memory but also god and fear and peace.
