jinah beams so reassuringly at him that for one second, jaewoo actualy feels a bit calmed despite the shrills coming from the rollercoasterㅡjaewoo watches as it dips down one of the highest slopes and feels his stomach do a similar drop, more or lessㅡbut then, she's suddenly talking about all the fun turns and whatnot, and the nervousness practically amplifies. not her fault though, because hey, if we rewind this tape, jaewoo was the one who decided to start off with the big bad (what was the word jinah used? wicked?) t-express first, so. yeah. jaewoo swallows with a nod. "yup," he agrees, tries his best to be believable (come on, actor!) when he says, "it'll be awesome!"
to be fair though, some of jinah's excitement seems to be rubbing off on him, because as much as he fears the ride, he finds that he's also getting a bit thrilled.
they're seated side-by-side, and the attendants fasten their belts and theㅡthe lift thingy? over their heads with habitual ease. jaewoo triple-checks if jinah's secure before triple-checking his own belt, taking a deep breath as he grabs (grips, really) the overhead thingy with both hands. he turns his head a bit to address jinah over the murmur of the coaster's engine. "any advice before we go? tips that could save my life? or my reputation, at least?" he half-jokes, because if it were entirely up to him, he might just scream his lungs out for the date lottery audience to see.
she’s very much in awe at everything she sees around her. an amusement park so vast in variety like everland isn’t something she gets so see every day after all. even if alex had taken her out on a date to one before, this is different. her and jaewoo are practically getting paid to be here and if it wasn’t for the cameras she may truly think she’s dreaming. his comments amuse her as she holds onto their map and continues to stare in awe. only when he turns to the camera to cover his little slip up does her awe break and make way for genuine laughter, amused at how comfortable jaewoo was that he forgot about them being filmed. he truly was way too adorable. when they arrive at their destination jinah’s stomach is churning in excitement. she can tell jaewoo is getting nervous, so she beams a reassuring smile up at him. “yup! it’ll be awesome! the track i saw from the outside looks wicked. i can’t wait to see how fast this one goes- did you see the two turns to the left?!” her energy exceeds as she’s practically radiating with anticipation, squeezing jaewoo’s hand slightly as she tugs him along once they actually board the coaster. “come on!”

they begin walking through the park, jaewoo leading with a relaxed (but not too relaxed) pace as he pointed out random things to jinah throughout the tripㅡattractions he remembers from previous visits ("that ride's really boring," he discloses to jinah, much too comfortable in this setting that he almost forgets they're being filmed, so he follows it up with an awkward chuckle and a "please don't air that, thank you... i have nothing against everland, everland is my best friendㅡ") or places where an old feature was now something new ("aw, my favorite food stand used to be over there! you could see the entire west side of the park from that spot while you eat your food. it was really pretty.")
luckily, they don't end up getting lost, and they reach the t-express much quicker than jaewoo expected (time goes faster when you're talking to someone like jinah, he supposes). he makes a small 'ta-dah!' gesture as the thousand-feet tallㅡhe doesn't know if that's accurate, so take his word with a grain of saltㅡcontraption looms over them. screams of exhilarationㅡor fear?ㅡring out from the coasters zooming past the steep-sloped tracks.
they're fitted with go-pros as soon as the staff coordinates their ride, and they're guided towards the express lane. jaewoo takes a quick glance at jinah then, sidling up to the entertainer and deciding to hook an arm around her elbow, like she had done earlier. he's beginning to grow a bit nervous, shows in the shakiness of his smile when he tells jinah, "no turning back now, huh?"

it's easy enough to spot jinah amongst the sea of people in the theme park; her hair's still tinted pink, and it’s still as eye-catching as jaewoo remembers from the first time they'd met. the filming crew around her's a pretty dead giveaway, too. he has a similar team following him now as he approaches jinah; the cameraman to his left capturing the way his eyes practically light up when he spots her, the tips of his lips curving fondly.
part of it's an act, because this is still a variety show about cute "couples" and it'd do jaewoo well to put on that extra ~*twinkle*~ in his eyes when he looks at jinah; or stare at her for a second too long, like he's mesmerized; or, you know, whatever else it would take to make the audience coo. but a much bigger part of it's just genuine enthusiasm, because it's been a while since he'd last gotten to hang out with the entertainer, and he really is looking forward to seeing her again.
today's date is supposed to be action-packed, too, and although he's kind of scared as to what that might entail (he'd come to realize that jinah's a thing of chaos, so anything goes, really), it's also made him even more excited for the day ahead.
jaewoo slows down and comes to a stop behind her, gesturing at the staff to keep his presence a secret. he bends slightly, tilting his head, before gently tapping jinah on the shoulder.

he really is one heck of an adorable guy. she fights the urge to lean up and poke his cheek, fingers twitching for a second in temptation before she decides against it. after all perhaps that may be a bit too much pda even for date lottery. their wide smiles and her excited swaying back and forth should be enough to get one or the other viewer cooing about them.
moving to follow him along as they enter the park, she immediately looks up at the wonderland unfolding before her. it leaves her with wide eyes and mouth agape, making it obvious it wasn’t often she got to visit such a nice amusement park. despite being well-off and an adventurous soul, she barely had the time and her parents had never bothered to really take her when she was a kid.
“everywhere?” it’s a joke obviously but the female genuinely can’t decide. so instead she looks down at the map he unfolded, biting her bottom lip uncertainly.
he's usually not a big fan of vague answers, but he'll let this one slide because a) it's jinah, and b) she looks genuinely amazed by the park's attractions—even wide-eyed and all—that jaewoo couldn't really muster up the half-hearted sigh he'd usually make whenever someone hits him back with an indecisive answer. and besides, it seems like the entertainer doesn't come to parks often (if her expression's anything to go by), so jaewoo's even more excited to show her around and hopefully make the experience memorable.
luckily, there'd been a time in jaewoo's life (and he means that in the most non-boomer way possible) when he frequented amusement parks with friends like it was just the local mall (but that's a story for another day), so he knows how best to enjoy the place, even if some attractions had changed as the seasons passed.
eyes on the map, he points at a the european adventures area—where the park's highest rollercoaster could be found. "i'm thinking go big or go home?" he says, the tiniest hint of mischief on his grin, "so how about we start off with the t-express?" he then drags his finger back to the spot by the gate, where they currently are. "it's a bit of a long walk, but we'd get to tour the other areas on the way, so it's like hitting two birds with one stone! what do you think?"

jinah can’t help but laugh at his response, doubling forward as she still feels a little guilty but is put at ease by his joke. at least he was okay. “guess it does,” she murmurs with a chuckle before tilting her head to ensure he was fine. even more so as he teased her about being easily startled. jinah had to admit that was tru. with a sigh and her head tilting the other way she grumbles lightly.
“ah.. i mean i won’t mind, i’m not easily scared but i am quite jumpy, yes.” the way he discards it so quickly as a joke makes her raise a brow suspiciously though. it seemed like he was a lot more scared potentially than she was jumpy.
for the sake of content she let the matter go and turned her attention back to the park. “so you really picked this?!” her eyes light up as she looks at the promising scenery. “i love it, i can’t wait!”
jaewoo grins with jinah's validation, nodding proudly when asked if he'd really picked the location for today's date. even though he often finds himself nervous around cameras these days, he's surprisingly at ease this time; he doesn't know if that's on account of the familiar location, or the familiar company. maybe both?
the staff had already taken care of the ticket fees and whatnot beforehand, so they're told to just pass through the entrance without much affair. jaewoo stalls for a second to pick up a guide map from the stand by the ticket booth, before jogging up to jinah and syncing his footsteps with the entertainer's. "where should we go first?" he chirps, unfolding the (gigantic) map (with some difficulty) (... he initially holds it upside down) and tilting it a bit so jinah could take a look as well. "should we start off with some rides?" he asks, gaze shifting between jinah and the map, "or should we sight-see for a bit?"

if someone were to take a screenshot of this particular moment of the dateㅡjaewoo tapping jinah's shoulder, not knowing what's to comeㅡit'd definitely fit the bill for photos taken seconds before a disaster. although, maybe subconsciously, he had seen the faceful of pink ponytail coming (this wouldn't be the first that it's happened to him, in general); but sometimes, you just never know what'd hit you until it hits you. literally, in this case.
he finds himself laughing lightly at the situation, still leaning down despite having flinched a bit when jinah's ponytail smacked him right on his nose, which he wrinkles amusedly. a part of him can already see his friends making fun of him for this (and certain people on the internet, no doubt), but then again, he'd understand whyㅡit really is kind of funnyㅡso he's not too worried.
"the ponytail doubles as a weapon. noted." he jokes, patting at his nose perfunctorily, straightening up. "sorry, i didn't think that one through..." he apologizes, before the expression's replaced with a teasing grin. "are you usually this easily startled, though? should we go to a horror house, then?" no!!!, his brain says, so he waves dismissively. "just kidding!"
he gestures for them to begin walking towards the entrance, hand outstretched at the ticket booth's direction. "i hope the location that i picked is okay? i figured there'd be a lot to do at a theme park." his eyes sweep through the park's attractions, but the star of the show's got to be the t express. "they've got the best rides, too."

when she is lead to the entrance of an amusement park, jinah raises a brow at the staff. this was basically a location she had suggested in her interview, which they had included in the actual footage of the show too. with sao leaving and jaewoo agreeing to see her for another date, the gears in her brain are turning quickly.
“it’s him again, isn’t it?” her question is met with a shrug from the staff and it only makes her poke the inside of her cheek as she raises a brow in suspicion. jinah is almost very certain she is right but for the sake of entertaining value she folds her arms across her chest and hums thoughtfully under her breath as she looks at the park stretching before her, the gates inviting and promising an eventful day ahead. whoever would be her date, she hoped they liked rollercoasters because jinah was about to go on a full rampage.
someone tapping her on the shoulder makes her snap out of her musing and daydreaming so quickly that she darts around without much thought, smacking whoever was behind her square with her long ponytail straight into the face.
“oh- jaewoo-yah,” she half whines, half laughs, holding a hand out as if wanting to reach out and check up on him. “holy- don’t startle me like that!”

jaewoo finds himself smoothing out the front of his sweater as he takes a seat a couple of steps up on the stairs from where mitsuki's sitting. he'd have to admit that he's quite nervous for the interview, but at least, the peaceful location helps (compared to, say, the noisy cafeteria jaewoo had just come from); the lack of an audience or cameras are a relief, too. he immediately shakes his head at her concerned expression. "it's fine, really! i got out of coaching a bit early, so i had time to eat lunch." jaewoo grins, in an effort to reassure. "i hope you've had lunch too!"
with a nod, he clears his throat. "my name's lee jaewoo, i was born in '02, and i'm an acting—" trainee, is what he almost says, because he's only really been an acting trainee until, like, two weeks ago, but he's—he's an actor now, right? with cram school underway? he's an actor now. he smiles to himself at the thought. "i'm an actor," he corrects, lips pulled warmly at the corners, "under lgc agency. i've been training since 2018, but i'm making my debut soon in the web drama, cram school! everyone's working very hard, so please look forward to it."

she settles down on the stairs, near an empty practice room. this place is probably the most quiet place in the company at this time due to lunch. mitsuki opens her pink notebook, scanning her questions and the answers that she had jotted down previously during her interview with hanbyul. as she reads the words inked on her paper, her lips curl into a small smile of satisfaction.
the sound of footsteps interrupted her thoughts as she looks up to see her next interviewee. “hey jaewoo! i hope i’ve not disturbed your lunch. it’ll be quick, i promise!” a worried look crosses her face with the thought of the other having a short lunch break. she picks up her pen, ready to start scribbling. “if you’re ready, we’ll start off with an introduction of yourself!”

even though there was a structure that eunhye had to follow for her show, there were certain times when the guest’s reaction or words would make each episode different than the previous ones. so when she watches jaewoo, a part of her smiles as she tries to resist laughing after hearing his comment. “some of our viewers may know how this goes, but before you show us what your special skill is, i have to check your resume to see if you are qualified to teach me this skill!” on cue, eunhye was handed a clipboard with a piece of paper attached to it. she had told jaewoo beforehand to fill out the resume and as she was about to sit down, she signaled him to do the same.
reviewing through the resume, eunhye hummed softly as if she was checking through every question. but in actuality, eunhye was skimming through certain aspects and focusing on questions that she felt were worth discussing out loud. plus, after looking at the special skill that he had written, eunhye wanted to keep it as a secret in the meantime and reveal it when the audience least expected it.
it didn’t take long before she found something that would serve as a starting point for the two of them. “it’s noted in both here and your introduction that you have an interest in acting. what encouraged you to pursue acting in the first place? was there someone that motivated you to try acting?” she looked at him, curious to know what his answer was. there were some acting trainees that she knew and each time she asked them how they got into acting, it was always an interesting story to her.
he turns to eunhye once his introduction's done, nodding as she speaks, and he finds himself grinning (again) when she mentions the resume he'd filled out earlier. he'd taken it very very seriously, trust, but once the clipboard's in her hands, he takes a subtle peek and is only reminded of how ugly his handwriting is. he purses his lips, half in shame and half because he finds it a little funny. but despite the jagged appearance of his penmanship (like somebody had put twigs together to try and spell the words), at least the writing's understandable, however much of an eyesore it is.
eunhye doesn't seem to mind, doesn't mention it either (which jaewoo's grateful for), as she reads through his resume. instead, she moves ahead with a few questions—ones that genuinely make him think.
jaewoo hums as he pieces his answer together, turning slightly towards the camera (blocking's a constant concern in his head, or something of a reflex, even, at this point). "i think i've always wanted to be an actor, even if, um, i didn't realize it at first." his tone's fond—always is, wherever his passion's concerned. "when i watched movies as a kid, i always found myself wanting to act as well. be in the film, something like that! or maybe make movies of my own." he's an animated speaker, hands lively as they move around to accompany his words. "but back then, i was focused on something else—um, my academics, specifically—so, uh, i didn't really consider acting as a career until i joined film and theatre clubs in high school. i participated in a lot of school productions and projects after that, and i realized that acting was what i really wanted to do all along!" he looks at the camera, eyes twinkling. "my friends from those clubs were also the ones who encouraged me to try acting, so i'm really thankful for them."
(he skips a lot of the actual details, because hey, nobody wants to hear about the potential nepotism, or how one of the real reasons he'd put acting in the backburner all these years was because he didn’t want to agitate his father more than his older brother already did—that maybe his family could at least keep some of its peace if he continued to be not disappointing, but that’s been a bust, so.
he’s definitely not saying that on a fun, family-friendly vlive show, of all places.)

jaewoo's in an even brighter mood than usual, thanks to the full six (6) hours of sleep he'd gotten the night beforeㅡa rarity, pretty much, now that his life's the busiest that it's ever been (which is saying something, because life's always been a bit of a whirlwind for him). with his metaphorical gas tank now refilled, he's more than brimming with energy as he leans back on his heels watching eunhye introduce her very own vlive show, before swinging up onto the tips of his feet like an eager kid.
once prompted, he enters the view of the lens with a grin, bowing towards eunhye and their 'audience', aka the camera, as he goes. her enthusiasm has him smiling wider, and he decides to clap along when he sees her applauding his entrance. he takes the spot beside her as instructed.
("why don't you briefly introduce yourself to our lovely audience?")
waving at the camera with both hands, he starts off with the usual "hello everyone!", but then, for some reason, he follows it up with: "it seems like you've all gotten lovelier since the last time we met." which is a stupid thing to say, he realizes, now that the words are out of his mouth.
(regret is always at the end.)
with a blink, he decides to forge on like nothing... awkward..... happened........ (which is a skill you learn to hone when you’re someone like him). “i’m lee jaewoo! i’m eighteen, and i’m an acting trainee under lgc agency.” he shifts his gaze between the camera and eunhye all the while. “i’m excited for what we’re going to do today!”

after a few episodes, eunhye was already getting used to the process. she would first introduce and interview the guest, let them teach her whatever their special skill was, and then challenge herself to see if she could succeed in the task at hand. while she found the format to be straightforward, the challenge came with making each episode just as memorable as the previous one. so with the two empty chairs behind her, eunhye does her introduction once the camera starts filming.
“hello! i’m eunhye and we are here for the fourth episode of challenge accepted! it’s a show where i invite the best and talented mentors to challenge me with their best skill. will i pass or fail this time around? well, we’re about to find out soon after i introduce to you our mentor of the day!” eunhye gave her introduction enthusiastically before signaling jaewoo to enter and stand next to her. pretending to be the audience, she cheered and applauded as a way to start off the show on a high note.
soon after she turned slightly towards him and said, “why don’t you briefly introduce yourself to our lovely audience?”
