psst, hey you! yes, you. just dropping by to say that if you're one of those fans eagerly awaiting the release of the sunshine court today, and if you've spent the past few years dreaming up your own versions of jean, jeremy, and all the other characters from the fanon, you might want to brace yourself. you could be in for some surprises.

stay open to the new directions nora is exploring with her story. it’s her prerogative to steer these characters through her narrative, and it’s our joy to follow along. remember, as much as we adore these characters and hold them close like they're our babies, they remain within the realm of fiction. your critiques about their actions won't affect them, but harsh words can impact a very real author who has dedicated so much passion and effort to her work.

so, before you voice disappointment or critique, think about the person behind the pages. knowing that nora has poured her heart and soul into this series, let's appreciate her craft. after all, at the end of the day, all thanks to nora for birthing these characters. it's a privilege to be part of her imaginary world.

that being said, i still can’t believe tsc comes out tomorrow!! it feels surreal but nice.

1 TSC will be out in April unless someone else dies or gets hospitalized. The chances of yall getting an actual date are slim to none, you'll probably just get a meme when I finally lose my patience and hit PUBLISH on it. I'd say sorry but

2 I will hopefully vanish when it's out, for better or worse. While I am anxious to know how it's received, I know very little of what yall have in mind for Jean & Jeremy and I want to keep it that way. I've made one or two half-assed compromises (bleaching Jeremy's hair) but the goal is to tell my own story free of influence. If my self-control holds, I'll be gone til TEB.

3 inspired by the resurgence of drunk!kevin memes I went back through aftg and counted every time kevin drinks that isn't social (ie Eden's or with the upperclassmen). five times across three books, my boy is doing better than expected. life goals, or something

4 the temptation to make the cover for 1 a frowny face and 2 a smiley face is almost all-consuming. I think I am going a little mad in this weird in-between space

Popped down to LA this week so I could retrace Jean's steps in TSC, walked away with a sunburn I can't even feel & some 280 pictures, ha. hey since we're in a sharing mood and since I have never learned to shut the fuck up while writing good news and bad news wrt Sunshine: good!!! it is going out to its first beta reader Monday at long last bad!!! TSC is gonna be two books :( (AT MOST. I will chew my wrists open before I stretch it to 3) potentially good!!!part 2: I think this will salvage the second POV, but I won't know until after the betas take a look at it. stay tuned, lovies

the way andrew takes pristine care of everything that belongs to him, including all of his responsibilities eg. the people under his care, is truly admirable. it’s hard not to love him. he probably also suffers from a mild case of OCD. funny thing is that, while andrew is all about order, neil is anything but. andrew's need for order and control possibly stems from a desire to protect himself and others, while neil's disregard for order reflects on his pursuit of freedom and a rejection of the oppressive forces (his parents) that have shaped his existence. now putting this into a daily scenario: imagine andrew's obsession with meticulous care and responsibility management is so extreme that even his cats have a personalized 5-year plan. it’s endearing and borderline hilarious. meanwhile, neil's idea of organization is finding his left sock in the morning. they are polar opposites of each other in some instances and thats perfectly normal behaviour resembling that of an old married couple.

andrew : i'm here to remove myself as his emergency contact.

neil : *gasps* you wouldn’t
