How people forgot to criticize and judge Varus lore.

So the new Varus lore is out as many of you know and I wanted to share some thoughts I had for it.

In general: it's ok. It's not amazing and it's not horrible. It has legitimate flaws and writing problems but it also has some good high points.

The good: New Darkin lore is always appreciated and I love how riot confimred the long standing theory of Darkin Varus. I like the mini-story with Val and Kai. It's also refreshing to see riot put some more effort for romances in league. The awaking of Varus and his drive to avenge his own kin is a very interesting and adds a lot to Darkin.

The bad: lack of information. We don't know why Varus's grave/prison is being used as a ritual site for other "heartlights". We don't even know how Varus is suddenly able to telepathically connect to Val despite Val having no contact with the Darkin's bow. I also have annoyances with this "love beats all" attitude in this story. I don't care about how strong someone's bond is it shouldn't be able to take control, even if it's brief, from a centuries old Darkin. I think it's lazy and it makes very little sense. Another flaw in this lore is something minor but it's kinda dumb. In Varus's new bio it states that he uses ARROWS to drive people to insanity? That makes little to no sense.

Overhype and overhate: now a big point I waned to make with this post is how people in the community are jumping to conclusions either over blowing how great this lore is or how bad it is. Funny enough it seems to always center around the side charecters Val and Kai. I've seen people calling this lore perefect because it has gay charecters in it, which overblows the lore and robs it from actual crtisms. On the other side of the coin we have those who hate the lore for these two charecters and while I could see where they are coming from if they focused on their lack of charecter development and the lack of reasons to care for the two but that's not where the Critisms come from. They say that them being gay is just an SJW agenda which at this point is such an eye rollingly bad statement, and people who think like this take away from the really good aspects of the lore. My point is that people should look at the lore objectively so we can gain more from it and maybe help riot improve any flaws in the lore as well as avoiding conflicts in our own community.
