Awesome, thanks for your help! :)
Hi!I have a question about your Fallout Mashup tutorial. By now, I have advanced to the part where I have to move the NiAlphaProperty under BSSubIndexTriShape in NifSkope. However, the model I chose does already have the line under BS Properties occupied, so changing that number moves another block... This is how it looks now: bit. ly/2qcwDyu (remove that space). Do you happen to know how I can duplicate that line, or any other way I can put that NiAlphaProperty under BSSubIndexTriShape? Thanks!
Hey!
I can’t seem to zoom the image, so its difficult for me to check the existing line. Could you either send me larger screen or let me know the name of the existing line?
From what I remember (it’s been a while), changing existing lines automatically updates everything else, so you don’t need to worry about messing up the model. The shape should only have one Alpha property, so if that line already exists in the model, just use the number it has/skips that part and follow on to the next steps of the tutorial. Alpha basically lets your model support transparent textures.
Let me know if I answered what you were looking for. :)

Hi!
Thanks for the quick reply! I’ve taken a larger screenshot of the lines I meant, so hopefully it’s more readable now:

(If not, you can still see a lager version here)
But, if I got that right, you’re saying that basically I don’t have to add another NiAlphaProperty block because the model does already have one, and by that, does already support transparency “out of the box”?

Letter writing prompts
Hi tumblr, I need some advice.
I want to take part in some kind of activity where you get assigned to a (more or less) random stranger to whom you should wirte letters, approx. one per week for a duration of about 6 to 24 months. I find it quite hard to some up with ideas on what to tell somebody I’ve never met and probably never will, so I would love to get some of your ideas. The more, the better.

Hi  @arideya,
I’ve tried it again, but still with no different results :/ I took some screenshots from my steps and settings in Photoshop and hoped you could have a look at them, maybe you can find my error(s).
This is how it looks after I erased the parts I don’t need:
Tumblr media
The “Save As” window:

nVidia dds format window options:

These are the options I use to re-open the file after saving it:

And this is how it turns out in the end :/

(I hope the image quality isn’t too bad… No experiences tumblr user, I just created my page so I could respond to your post)
Hey there, I tried to follow your FO4 mashup tutorial, and get stuck at the point where I have to save the texture as DXT5 Interpolated alpha :/ I can choose the option from the dropdown list, but as soon as I save and re-open the file the background reverts to white instead of staying transparent... Do you happen to know what could be a possible reason?
Hey nonny,Do you by chance flatten the image? If you do this is what it usually ends up with. Sometimes forgetting to edit transparency in the nif file causes white instead of transparent when you try to load the texture in game.
