Imagine after adopting your child f/o you take them out to go clothes shopping.
Are they shy at first? Nervously picking out the small, cheap things, as they look at you to see if they're asking too much. They mutter to you quiet "thank yous" and "you don't have to."
What's your physical sign of affection? Do you tossel hair in between your fingers? Do you pat their back, caress the side of their face, or kiss the top of their head?
What about as they begin getting more comfortable? If you're still on modern day earth what store do they drag you into while looking for clothes? Do they take you to hot topic, forever 21, Kohl's, thrift stores, or do they take you somewhere else?
What style of clothes do they wear? Are they bright and colorful, or mysterious and dark?
Do you take them to the fitting rooms where they playfully model everything they bought. What kind of silly poses do they make? Are they effortlessly funny, posing after every quick change, or do they walk out shylily with their head down only to brighten up when you compliment them?
After paying do they skip out the store happily and proudly, whilst bouncing around you like a small rabbit, or do they hang by your side, holding your hand tightly, taking in the feeling of finally being safe under your wing?
And what about the most difficult part, how are you gonna get all this stuff home???

- to those who never really had any romantic f/os to begin with
- to those who do have them, but the platonic/familial ones have always played a bigger part in their lives
- to those with a lot of platonic f/os and/or familial f/os, being from the same source or not
- to those who have queerplatonic f/os, where your feelings don't neatly fit into a box
- to those who don't have that many platonic or familial f/os, but still find them being very important to how they selfship
- to those who find all the types of attraction confusing and thus don't know how to label their selfships

Imagine your vampiric F/O feeding off of you, and then scooping you up in their arms after a few moments of pampering.

You give them a confused look

Pine - You are working on something together- how much do they actually contribute?
Sassafras - How much do you guys really know about each other?
Witch Hazel - Someone hurts you intentionally, either physically or verbally. How do they react? Alternatively, how would you react to them being hurt by somebody?
Beech - How good are they at comforting you when you're sad or upset? Do they just talk with you, or do they go the extra mile?
Ash - You find yourself lost in the woods. Do you call them? Would they be able to help you get out, or are they just a voice to keep you calm while you get yourself out?
Dogwood - You've been quiet for a week or so- do they reach out to ask what's wrong, or do they let you have your space?
Cottonwood - If you took a vacation together, where would you go? What would you do?
Cherry - Are you childhood friends, or did you meet later in life?
Palm - If they did something you didn't agree with, would you call them out on it or let it slide? Would they call you out on something?

Imagine playing with their tails, or them wrapping theirs around you while you’re both cuddling.
Imagine slowly petting them or playing with their hair, and you start to hear the faint but sweet sound of them purring. You cherish these moments, even if they deny it ever happened.
If they have claws, imagine tracing your hand over them. Whenever you’re holding hands, you softly rub your fingers over their palm. They always feel safe when they’re with you, and you’re always able to calm you down.
Even if your relationship is frowned upon, you’re the most beautiful and wonderful thing they’ve ever laid their eyes on. In their eyes, you’re the thing that makes life worth living for them.
