You think the remenants of Malachi's mother was there, watching over him? Do you think she stayed in that castle, desprate to look after her little boy that she had to condem to a prison of their own making because he was different, from beyond the grave? Do you think her soul stood there and watched as a woman she never knew, an eon younger than even her son, stayed with him, listened to him, and helped him in ways she never could?
Did Malachi's mother stand there, shedding happy tears when Aphmau gave her baby a new life, free of the curse he was born with, that she could never give him?

idea below
this was based on an idea discussed in the discord about the reunion between malachi and laurance after the whole 15 year irene dimension debacle, but for those unaware, myself and some others have a hc that being in the irene dimension was physically painful for laurance, as a shadow knight. like very.
i drew him in his sk form, which was kinda just a whim, but maybe it could be explained by saying that he involuntarily turned due to the stress that the dimension inflicted on his body, although him being in his form gave me ANOTHER idea, so you can pick whichever you want to believe.
the other idea: rather than this being the reunion from the return from the irene dimension, maybe it’s from laurance’s return from his silly little 3 year nether side quest (AUGH😞), which would imply that he just hadn’t transformed back yet if he’d just then returned.
also, if that were the case, of course malachi would be glad to see him, but i think he’d also be fucking pissed. and confused. but also understanding because he’s malachi. but yes lots of father/mentor-son feelings. anyways.

Do you think when aphmau saw grown Levin for the first time all she could see was the man she had just lost?
It wasn’t even thirty minutes ago she saw the same blonde curls and blue eyes in the light underneath the tree canopy. Only then was Aphmau able to understand what Garroth had given up for her and Laurance. Only then did Aphmau understand what had been stolen from Garroth. The resemblance had always been there but she hadn’t known what Garroth looked like when he was a child. She wondered if in a few years would Levin’s brow crease in the same place as Garroth when he was stressed. Would Levin catch Garroth in age by the time they saw each other again? Or, would Aphmau be left with a constant reminder of what she could never have? Aphmau only then understood how young she is as she looked at her son take on the same pressure she nearly crumbled under.

i’m pretty sure it was hinted at, at some point too but also, i saw a post a little while ago talking about how travis has a more feminine face compared to the rest of the guys in mcd and that got me a thinkin
male characters’ eyes are generally 2 squares high (how much skin shows under their eye, i’m not sure how else to word that) with no visible lashes
while women’s eyes are usually 1 square high with visible lashes
then we have travis, with eyes that are 1 square high with visible lashes (tho they could also be eyebrows)

His natural form is a cross between human and demon, naturally. he only allows himself to be like this when he’s alone or with Eseryt. He’s at his most powerful like this (not including demon form), as shapeshifting causes strain if he holds it for too long.
He can shape shift into any living creature, but he cannot turn into specific people.
His father has the ability to enter his mind and puppet him around if his defenses are down. In order for Travis to be weak enough for this, he must have put some strain on his power, like holding his human form for too long *wink wink*
When his father is in control of his body, his eyes turn from green to purple.
Transforming into his demon form puts a great strain on his body, and can be very painful. He only willingly does it if he absolutely needs a power boost.
His mother, Olle Valkrum, was trained her whole life to fight the Demon Warlock. He had been feuding with her family and their island since Enki’s time. Olle, being a descendant of Enki himself.
The Demon Warlock one day disguised himself as a man named Micheal and whooed Olle. He spent months gaining her trust as Micheal, while simultaneously fighting her as the Demon Warlock as to not draw attention. Eventually Olle became pregnant and gave birth to Travis. Appalled at this inhuman creature she created, this is when Micheal revealed himself to be the Demon Warlock all along. Olle raised Travis to the best of her abilities, training him the same way she herself had been trained, until one fateful day when she lost her life.
Shortly after everyone returned from the Irene Realm (which he of course had no idea about), he started having dreams of a girl with red hair and a scarred face. He could interact with her, but he could not touch, speak to, or hear her.
A while after the dreams began, he came across this very girl in the woods one day. Assuming it was a trick by his father, he rushed her. Though later she revealed herself to be Eseryt Yrva, a girl who’s group crashed on Enki Island and were just looking for a way out.
He and Eseryt eventually became very close and romantically involved. No Travlyn doesn’t happen (sorry guys). It never felt right to me. Not only was Katelyn always mean to Travis, but I’ve always thought she was a lesbian. (She is in my rewrite)
Travis is NOT a creepy perv!!! He’s just socially awkward and doesn’t understand social norms or ques. He doesn’t have much of a filter and will often unintentionally make people uncomfortable or offend them, though he always means well.
His lack of filter is part of why Es likes him. He’s honest, which is rare.
He’s a lot smarter than he lets on, or that people give him credit for. He has a lot of time to himself, which he spends reading and researching. He also is an incredibly skilled fighter and survivalist.
He’s never been fond of fighting. Much more preferring things like reading, writing, and painting. He’ll paint or write about whatever he sees around him.
Once he learns certain social norms and ques, he sticks to them religiously. He only wants to make people feel ok and safe around him.
He’d sacrifice himself for the people he cares about in a heartbeat a thousand times over and over again. trait he gained from his mother.
Travis was born female but shortly after he was born, he physically shifted to male and stayed that way. He can shift between male and female (or neither/both) at will, but prefers to present as male.
He generally uses he/him but doesn’t mind they/them. But please not It. That makes him feel more disconnected from his human side.

Losing my mind over Laurence and Garroth’s bond.
Laurence promising to hold back to accommodate for Garroth’s shyness.
Laurence takes their promise super fucking serious, to the point where he’s ashamed and withdrawn after just. Hugging Aphmau for comfort after his fucking village was destroyed
Laurence’s (framed) betrayal was Garroth’s breaking point.
Garroth, still thinking Laurence betrayed him, was pulled back by his speech.
“You need to be a Garroth worth protecting others!” And he folds like a tower of cards
Laurence came back to himself after slaughtering a wedding procession and his first concern was “oh no I broke my promise :(“ because Aphmau kissed him

how often do you think garroth worried about vylad after he left for tu’la? did vylad leave something with garroth (maybe a little wooden carving) as a promise he would come back? did garroth spend countless nights turning that carving over in his hands to calm his anxiety, worrying if his brother had lost his head to the king yet? maybe even fearing vylad ended up on the nether somehow?
garroth cares for his baby brother, of course he’s gonna worry when their gone longer they told him (just a few weeks, vylad had told garroth). of course garroth is going to spend his nights thinking of every possible thing that could happen to vylad while he’s in tu’la (the worst one being that he lost them again). the only solace garroth has is the comfort that comes from the little wooden wolf that vylad carved for him. by the time garroth is finally able to see his brother again, the wolf carving is already so worn down from the nights he spent worrying.
