This is Sklouse the Louse-we created for an event pitch for Sanofi Pasteurs' project launch- a treatment for lice. Made me itch the entire 3 weeks and Sklouse got left on the cutting room floor.  Too bad- who wouldn't want to be greeted by a giant parasite!?

The cover of my final project (book) in Typography at SVC this last quarter.  As usual I saved it until the last minute and just now realized I am missing a few ribs on the right side.  Once the book is finished getting laid out (all 90 pages!), I'll fix the ribs and print this bad boy.

We won a trip to Amsterdam for this quick internal MSLGroup/PBJS video.  That's my hand & writing- I'm a speed writer if you didn't know.

I'm taking an extra class in Typography at Seattle's School of Visual Concepts.  Even though I have a job and have long graduated from portfolio school, where I took many type classes- I feel that type is my biggest place for growth.  Its my designers achilles tendon- I understand it, I can use it but its my weakest skill in my designer set.  So what better way to work on it, then continue taking classes- especially with the revered Juliet Shen.
This assignment was to design our name/nickname into a 4x6 square lino block, and set it with hand-set type.  I had a lot of iterations but ultimately landed on this design (inspired by Native).

I just got back from the lovely white sand beaches of Cape San Blas, Florida for my dear friends Danielle and Dustin's wedding.  It was a beautiful event for a beautiful couple and I even came back with a slight tan... that and about 40,000 bug bites.
While I was there, I had the pleasure of meeting her photographer, Tana- who does some amazing work. (I mean- she made me look good and that's tough!)  Here are two of her pics- one of the Save the Dates I designed and posted on here a while back and one of the wedding party.
You can view Tana's work at Tana Photography: http://tanaphotography.com/

Working on making my black thumb green.  Since the death of my strawberries last year I have decided to take my gardening to the next level: by planting 20 times as many and keeping them all alive.  Bonus points if I actually cook with them.

Invited the boss man to Amsterdam with us using some sweet new folding techniques I picked up from Paper Folding Templates for Print Design by Trish Witkowski... one of the many items I have spent my money on recently on Fab.com.  Also busted out the calligraphy pen- classy shit.

My Design Director thought it would be a good idea to take a break (but not from the computer) to do the silly, random Wikipedia/Flickr/Album art. This is mine. You should totes come to our show, we are like so hip.

Allison, Brandon & I are representing PBJS in the Nederlands!  We won an MSLGroup internal competition back in February and got to pick any one of 89 cities/offices in the group.  We chose to do MSL Amsterdam and this art is from our PBJS deck & request for time off.  And good news:  I found my passport!  So excited to go!

Concepting ideas for yearly internal awards led to this: music-esque posters of the year and something (even vaguely) related to it.  For example: 2002 was the year of the Black Horse according to some sketchy Chinese Astrology website  I landed on.
Idea = killed.

1.) An app called Forager that would work like Instagram + Yelp + Notes, where you'd review your home made meals, restaurant meals, friends meals, etc., take a picture of it, note the recipe and share it with your followers and social networks.  Basically an online/mobile personal rolodex of recipes (ie Pinterest).  Dead.  Killed. No more.
2.) An accompanying website for Forager and other apps coming from Companion Apps.
*Forager & Companion apps belong to my friend Jeremy (@jeremyperonto).  DM him for any questions.
