Its not all about the art though i hope you have a SWAGALICIOUS time and that you have been doing good. How are you? How's the weather? etc.
UM but this has also reminded me that like. it would be wise to make another blog just for art (stole this idea from you(even though probably a lot of people do it(brah i straight up only started using tumblr to follow your blog who am i kidding))).. ive wanted to use other art sites too but i have been so dang LAZY about it theyre dead as hell!! so its about time i revive my brand image. and this blog will just be for cringeFailure metaphoricalBugPosting...
one thing i like to take advantage of in this site is the ability to make long posts so then i also just want to meander here at the end bc 3 paragraphs look a littol more put together than just 2 paragraphs. yeaaah... Adioswagalicios 🐻 ❄

@mostpowerfrog I MEAN. aside from my last post being insanely wrong, i was like also kind of right but i must admit i didnt expect it to be this cute <;3 good work on this thing !! and by this thing im talking about vampire x hunter if it wasnt clear ;;
let me ummm dump about the whole thing here real quick. so overall, its great !! and like it feels like it hit me way harder cuz of how long the wait was between the updates so i was just like getting residual hype in the background from wanting it to be complete and then when i saw u actually post about it was all like: It's feasting time. and like it was so worth !! the story doesnt need to be super complex to suck me in but it still had like really interesting elements to it that like make more sense now considering the direction u went
like, for some reason i expected it to be more wrapped up even tho i kno thats not really your style so i didnt even consider it going this direction BUT that also means my first post may be more true further into the story like arcen questioning his whole motivation for this and the whole bannon clan and also more stuff about vance and and. ugh this is also one of your strengths where combined with the exposition and worldbuilding and characters and the small bit of story we get to see it really makes it seem like theres a whole world with a grand long story to tell if we were to ever explore it which is SO COOL but at the same time kills me a lil bit knowing ill never have like 300 chapters of your comics ...
that leads me to ask, do you have a lot of ideas for your comics that dont make it in or do you just have this small story you wanted to tell and then had to come up with all the stuff around it to have an excuse to make it? like, "ok, cool design just dropped. i wanna have him fight some other guy cuz its cool." and then coming up with a motivation for the mc and the whole story? or is it more like you already had some plans for characters and a story like this and then just had to execute it?
but umm yeah i def like this more than tenfold rings EVEN THOUGH tenfold rings has the same strengths and it was still great but this feels like you took that in stride and then made a more polished pilot for a potential longer story, aswell as having like way more of a settled(?) artstyle... ?? ok at this point im just saying words but i mean its even more flowy and the pacing is suited exactly to my taste and the paneling is really cool and the art is kind of like janky on purpose? like working with a pen with no line weight change or tapering and then allowing some parts to look super off-model to exaggerate the characters better while still having a lot of cool perspective shots and composition, n then also not trying to make aspects look too polished like some lines in the background will be going to the middle of nowhere but the overall composition and look from afar is so strong it doesnt even matter (it kind of makes it sound like an insult but this is great i tell u bc i spend way too much time focusing on polishing some random thing no one will care about) so basically you kno where to put your strengths and what people will actually pay attention to so you dont have to spend too much work
the action for me is also way more readable i remember being a little lost in some panels of tenfold and it wasnt exactly focused on action so it didnt matter too much but everything in vxh is readable and that makes the action scenes feel like ... awesomesauce swagaliciousness !! ive gotta say i aspire to learn your ways because therses so many cool small things i keep noticing on rereads that you did with the art and i especially love the paneling and use of contrast IT JUST LOOKS SO GOOD !!
im sorry though that you had to fight thru artblock n burnout to just get it out, def fine with you doing whatever for your next projects as long as it makes you feel more comfortable with creating the stuff and without burning yourself out n all that :v whether its more pilot comics or some longer form thing or some other medium idc!! u can probably tell im insanely rabid about your art so ill literally take whatever you make. and this is like supremely strange to me because im never obsessed with anyone elses art so i guess you somehow managed to scratch that itch no one else could thus far :O
so overall thoughts: vampire x hunter SUPREMELY goated and you should feel good about it forever. and good luck with every endeavor you ever pursue in the future forever +maximum

@mostpowerfrog look i straight up haven't the patience to reply again so i will just post about it but like dat new part of vampire x hunter is SO good it feels like teh style is like the same but theres some instances where you can see the evolution in ur art like the eye shots here and there are more expressive and its so awesome and the action RULES as always and and. and ummmmm whats been haunting me since i read the first 16 pages is that one prozd vine where he goes
"and then hunter 2 goes 'kiss me ya darn fool'"
"what? no, not hunter x hunter. have you seen hunter hunter?"
"oh... yeah"
like vampire x hunter is a title biogenetically engineered to be interpretable in a yaoi connotation and ive had this like VIBE since the start like arcen talking about 'being a family man' at the start (which is a goal set-up to make the whole action here have a point BUT it can be a double entendre..) and then y'kno like vampires being historically quite a queer figure in many manners and like THE BEGINNING PAGE framing vampires as definitely super evil and must be stopped because they are out there doing evil shit for sure out of just malice and uncaringness...
while, you kno... the "LEGENDARY" VAMPIRE HUNTERS are the good guys who are depicted as badass and righteous. N ALSO it being illustrated in stark black and white with narration on top frames it much like a myth or a legend and all of that stuff. i dont doubt vampires also be doin some evil stuff BUT i am betting all my life savings arcen has had his view tainted cuz of his clan
and like edvard also being a part of that myth and legend and later himself saying that he's gone thru the trouble of trying to stay isolated n 'hunters always blowing things out of proportion'. to be honest, you had me entirely fooled with 'his aura being different' somehow because i just assumed that was a classic anime thing of establishing that this vamp aint like the others and has some mega powerful power going on that like differentiates him from all the other ones so we can have a high-stakes fight (pun so intended)
but SHADOWNG!! this update flips that on its head completely and now im like. are we yaoing I COULD TOTALLY JUST BE GOING INSANE HERE but this new update is making me feel like i was onto something the whooole time... like at the very least i kno arcen aint staking his ass and i dont buy it for even a second. my prediction from all i am gathering at this time is: arcen will be all like: *doesnt stake you* and then edvards like "i actually have a super tragic backstory." and then talks about the vampire experience™ and arcens like "aw shit sorry dude. anyway you lookin kinda fine today" and then it just ends abruptly. theres not even a final page that suggests something happened afterward that is just the final page it just cuts off. either that or edvard just fucking dies after the tragic backstory and arcens like "damn." and then takes it to heart to reconsider his entire familys legacy or something but i feel thatd be a bit dark for what youve gone for usually (id still eat it up dw)
pardon if this is a gross misinterpretation of the current events but at the same time i feel as if at least some of this was intentional and also you have a track record of having queer characters, so i am absolved of any and all blame there is to have. thank you :D

inside is the most detailed opening rwby has pulled so far and each week i found something new in it that was not even changed or added BUT i want to talk about this thing in specific
i realized last episode that.. the intro starts off with literally the final fight of the volume. the cuts with rwbyjn are not only cool shots with a color effect but they're also actually rwbyjn from the final fight with the cat - wby are in fighting stances and ruby has her eyes closed representing her in the tree..
and a note. i think the orange spheres represent the different people ruby could choose to be but instead she chooses herself, represented by the sphere in white. which like. white flashes, silver eyes, spark that inspires hope, etc. also white and red, summer rose... in a way this could also represent that her mothers words are what she needed to hear most then and thats what makes her shine so bright in that moment
the jaune / neo shot is a direct reference to the fight with the cat, but it also shows jaunes younger form. that is definitely to not spoil anything but it also references jaunes dwindling forms when he confronts alyx in the smoke and she makes her wish to return him to his younger form later
they also very intentionally did this one shot in the fight to call back to these shots n vice versa (thats when i realized n wanted to rant about this)
and then ruby falls back and chooses herself, erupting from the tree after having ascended, returning with a huge flash of white
and then not only is the door from the intro (which also represents the door to remnant) opening up for alyx, but also to rwbyj leaving after ruby ascends, hence the leaves flying on by the logo, revealing the door afterward, which also represents the tree being "not a place you go, but a place you know"
... snf ydfhn thats that! this intro is jam-packed and i want to talk about everything about it so bad but it would be so lengthy so maybe in the future. props to whoever was the mastermidn behind all this though you made me scramble my brain every week
