the striking Spined Citrus Bug (Biprorulus bibax), a species of stink bug that I've been wanting to see for a long time!!
these beasts are easily identified by their large black spines and incredibly green colouration, and are heralded by the loud, buzzing flight that is characteristic of many True Bugs.
as their common name suggests, B. bibax feed on a variety of citrus, using their long proboscis to pierce through the tough skin of such fruits. the photo above shows the proboscis folded back underneath the body when not in use.
this individual flew noisily past me on their way to our mandarine tree, but they were cooperative enough to perch on my finger for some photos first.

i ended up knocking the machine over, heard a shatter from it, and ran before someone saw me
To make up for the absence, I have a memory to share
Drinking in my dorm alone, and stumbling into the halls to find a snack machine
