Tell me if it is true, or if someone is joking!

Just saw the announcement of Tolkien Estate for fanworks and seriously, despite being ultra ridiculous and vague on purpose, is mostly disrespectful to all the fans.

Tolkien is a huge name and his works are classics no doubt. And the ones who have the rights for his works may feel powerful but they would never have gotten this power if it wasn’t the fans.

Fans who kept alive Tolkien’s works since the date the books were published and continue to do it. Because our love for the characters and the world is bigger than any new policies.

So to my mutuals I say do not worry, keep creating, keep discussing, keep the world Tolkien created alive and vivid.

And even if they chase fans on platforms like Twitter or Instagram or even Tumblr and on fanfic sites, we will still find a way to continue. We always do.

Because again we hold the power here, not them.
