finished the first 2 eps from new season and here's my comments on it:

I'm slowly getting used to the animation. My favorite it's still Book Circus/Murder/Atlantic, it's peak. But this is fine and dandy, we'll survive. At least is not... well, the overly flat and mutated colors of s1 but more power to you if that's your personal kuro peak

the opening is crazy yes but it's also so kuro, so no complaints

THE VOICES ARE FIRE. And the dub direction is going great. I was especially happy with the detail of Ciel doing angry sounds when he understand that Maurice tricked him, it's so simple but it adds something very natural to the scene

MCMILLAN YOU SWEET CINNAMON ROLL

Gregory's face watching the handshake between Ciel and the substitute Headmaster is priceless

he in general is priceless, my sweet emo kid born from the darkness of a Arts school

Joanne is here <3

not Sebastian dressing himself as a priest-teacher, rosary on his neck (fyi not the place to put your rosary) and saying "Pray, my child" 💀 he literally knows no bounds

the tea in 3D looked a bit like a pudding in some scenes but the strawberry parfait? that tasted like revenge

finished watching the Book of Atlantic movie~ at first I was kinda bummed up bc I couldn't find to watch in full HD, only 720p maximum, but then I saw the cgi and realized maybe it was a divine blessing in disguise

I remembered that at the time the circus ark came out i thought it was funny that our dear lil Ciel introduced himself to the circus troupe as "Finny", because that's literally the only other guy around child age he knows But later we learn that he literally gave this name to the gardener, and it's from a book he read as a child He either really likes the name, or, considering where his butler's name comes from, he is kinda bad at coming up with names, which is a funnier explanation, so i'll stick with it

Since BB began in 2006, I like to imagine the characters engaging with the culture at the time. Specifically, Sebastian is driving Ciel around in a minivan, blasting and singing along to Fergalicious, while Ciel is listening to MCR fullblast on his MP3 player
