noriko kondō was only a month into her junior year of college at the university of california , berkeley when a positive pregnancy test stared back at her . with a sudden heavy weight on her chest , noriko was unsure of how her boyfriend , tadayuki yamashita , would react . they were only dating for a little over a year , and they both had big plans which didn’t include a baby . noriko gets clarification from a doctor , solidifying that the pregnancy test wasn’t false , and that she caught her pregnancy early , as she was only three weeks along . noriko , with a clear mind on what she wants to do , returns to her shared apartment with tadayuki to share the incredible news , but his reaction isn’t exactly what noriko had been hoping for .
‘ you should have an abortion . ’ is the first and only thing tadayuki says regarding the pregnancy , and it’s not what noriko wants . it leads to arguments , tense nights of going to bed without speaking to one another , and eventually , their relationship comes to an end . noriko is three months along when she makes the decision to raise her baby on her own , no matter the looks she gets from her fellow classmates as her bump grows bigger . noriko sees tadayuki around campus ( it’s hard not to , considering that they were following the same course program ) , but after initially shying away from his stare when she came into the room , noriko slowly began to not care . her friends were by her side , and that was all she needed .
noriko finishes her junior year , and it’s only a month later while at home with her family in san francisco , that noriko welcomes her healthy baby girl . noriko calls tadayuki , and she wasn’t surprised when he didn’t return her phone calls -- it’s from then that noriko decides she’ll be fine on her own . for that summer , noriko finds a place near berekely’s campus for her final year of college , and has the never - ending support of her parents . noriko eventually graduates , and gets accepted into berkeley’s law school . she raises her baby , gets through law school , and eventually begins her journey into becoming one of the top prosecuting attorneys in arizona after she relocates .
juri , as an only child , is raised in the lap of luxury . noriko makes the million dollar homes of phoenix their home , and provides the absolute best to her daughter . juri attends the best schools in arizona , takes frequent trips to san francisco to visit her parents , and constantly take family trips to japan to visit noriko’s grandparents . juri gets older , and begins to grow into her own . of course , being raised by an ambitious mother rubs off on juri as she grows into a beautiful teenager . during her high school years , juri was the kind of girl where people wondered how she had so much time in the day . she was in various clubs , was captain of her high school’s cheerleading team , and became student body president when she was a sophomore .
it all pays off for her in the end , when juri graduates from her high school with an acceptance into columbia university . she majors in political science , with a special concentration in business . while at columbia , juri was once again often going above and beyond for her studies , she took advantage of long library hours , office hours , and became the president of a club at her school . in short , juri had a three page long resumé by the time she graduated summa cum laude . when she graduates from columbia , she became a legislative assistant with a local state representative , believing that she wanted to work political campaigns , but that changed when she she came across a job posting for a social media manager at masters international .

when juri applied to masters and went into her interview , she introduced herself as ‘ juri kondō , your next social media manager ’ . she was very cutthroat when it came to securing her position at masters . of course , juri really didn’t have to do much considering her extensive resumé . she’s offered the job , and has been working at masters since september 2020 . juri obtained the office rumor of tormenting her former supervisor until they quit because it’s true ! juri is a little . . . intense at times , and isn’t the type who is afraid to call out her supervisor when they do something wrong . thus , she had a strong habit of annoying her supervisor even over the smallest instances , so much so to the point that they quit . she likes to think that she is well liked around masters , but it wouldn’t be surprising if there were people who hated her !

often shows up to work early because she wakes up at 5am every day , even on the weekend . she usually starts with a workout , breakfast , and everything else she can fit in before stopping at her favorite french - style café for an iced americano with soy milk and a drizzle of caramel . an almond croissant is the way to her heart .
