I’ve always said shinwon was just a regular guy who just so happened to slip through the cracks and become a celebrity, but he himself fully acknowledges this as well. he was scouted by chance, and before becoming a trainee he was just doing a bunch of odd part time jobs. so that begs the question of why this mcdonalds loving freak of nature who didn’t even THINK of having a future as an idol endure such grueling training for years and years when the final goal of being a celebrity wasn’t even his wish…? shinwon says the reason he hoped to debut was because he wanted to be a member of pentagon. he thought to himself that if he didn’t work hard enough he’ll never be able to stand on stage with his friends, and all the time they spent together was so enjoyable he didn’t want it to end. he loved his members so much that he didn’t want to be apart from them and in order to stay together, they had to share the same dream. excuse me while I fucking drown myself in a vat of acid like? Is this guy for fucking real? shinwon is one of the most tender and warm people I have ever watched, and he expresses that every single living moment. we can all fool ourselves to think that so and so on camera has such a loving and real friendship, when truth of the matter is we’ll never know, but I will bet HARD CASH and my future first born child on shinwon’s love for pentagon being genuine. the way he consistently and casually talks about all their memories, promotes and listens to all his member’s songs, watches and comments on all his member’s activities is proof enough that shinwon can’t survive without pentagon. when he was eliminated on pentagon maker he talked about feeling completely lost, because he didn’t know what else he could do without his friends. I can confidently say that if it wasn’t with pentagon, shinwon wouldn’t have wanted to debut at all. If the decision to eliminate shinwon was final, he wouldn’t have continued being a singer.

shinwon’s love language being acts of service and the fact that despite any of his teasing or jokes he is always, always there for the other members to support them and take care of them from things like looking up things to have in the dorm to help stretch hyunggu’s leg or pushing him around in his wheelchair when he was hurt to even little things like when he brought extra breakfast back to the hotel for wooseok in that one prism log or even how he was teasing hui after the bomnari stage, asking him why he was crying, but doing that while holding him up, keeping him steady, helping him to take off his mic pack

he always shows up to everyone’s schedules he’s always there to offer a hand (well maybe not literally as often as hui would like but still) he might not be great at expressing his feelings verbally but you can see how much he loves his members through his each and every one of his actions
