Dear Diary,

Mom went missing today.

The last time I saw her she was going to visit Cassandra to probably have a make-out session. Angela thinks she probably stayed the night, but I feel like she definitely would've told us if she did. Dad's still at the hospital because apparently there were some complications with the birth, so I don't know if he knows.

Dirk and Aunt Jen both gave me their condolences today, but I don't really feel anything. I did dream of this happening after Dina disappeared, but I never really thought it would happen. Grandma and Grandpa also moved in with us temporarily until Dad came back from the hospital, which feels unnecessary but I'd take them over either Mom or Dad any day. Am I allowed to say that? I'm sure Mom will be fine, anyway.

Anyway, I tried to ask Angela about how her report was going but she said she wanted to keep it secret. I know deep down she hasn't done shit, because I haven't seen her make any effort to try to talk to the Specters at all. Once I asked her about it more she snapped and said she overheard me talking to Pascal and was afraid that whatever I had in that report would end up undermining hers.

I don't know why she was so upset when the Specters have a good reputation while mine is on the guy that they fucked over with the help of all the influential people in town, but I told her that we can compare reports and she seemed to calm down after that.

We dropped by the Broke trailer after school to visit Dustin but it turns out he went missing and Ms. Broke was in a frenzy. I genuinely don't think I've ever seen her that panicked tbh, or at all really. We offered to help her look around, before we eventually found Dustin inside of what seemed to be a circle of flowers that formed around one of trees near the trailer. He seemed really dazed and just stared up at the sky, so we decided to play some good old-fashioned Punch You Punch Me as we waited for him to come back to his senses.

Once he left the ring he said he was tired and wanted to go to sleep, but Angela was able to talk to him while I went to take a shit in their bathroom. The Broke walls were hella thin, so I heard everything. Dustin claimed that he got transported to another realm by a fairy and that he saw an Asian man with long hair and green tinted glasses staring at him from behind a cold, glass wall. He also mentioned seeing a hall of mirrors which reflected the people who went missing, including Beau and Mom, but that he was sent back before he could do anything about them. He seemed kinda frazzled the entire time, so we decided to just let him go to sleep and return home.

I guess I can ask Ripp if he could introduce me to Puck, one of our other classmates who's a fairy. He seems pretty chill but he's super shy, so it's hard to talk to him because of that. I'm guessing he might know something about it, or at least direct me to someone who has. I'm not entirely sure if I believe Dustin, but considering how he just magically appeared in that flower ring I'm certain fairies probably had something to do with it.

I wonder if Strangetown ever had fairy incidents, like they do with aliens. I did hear that they're mainly from Veronaville, due to it the environment being more friendly towards fairies, but I don't think it's impossible for fairies to be found elsewhere. I guess I can ask someone from Strangetown about it later.

This may be a hot take...

...but I don't believe Angela really did anything wrong ): Like I fully understand Lilith's resentment, I don't get the Angela-hate

they were both just children and they lived in a situation where attention was a resource that could run out, and in a situation like that, a child is going to take all the attention they can get, even if it means taking it from their sibling and that's on the parents for pitting their children against each other, like I'm struggling to understand why we are blaming Angela for that ;3;

Angela didn't choose to be favored by their parents, and as I see it, she wasn't the 'good' twin, she was the 'responsible' twin

Think about it, like Angela still had to learn so much in her childhood while Lilith didn't; what I'm hearing is due to the parents paying little to no attention to Lilith, it meant she had more freedom than Angela

Lilith got to dress how she wanted, date who she wanted, she got to buy expensive things for her room, she even snuck out and didn't get into trouble for it (note that Lilith has a memory of getting caught sneaking out, but not by her parents, but by Gordon King), while Angela has hardly any memories at all besides what she learned

I think people tend to forget that Lilith and Angela both grew up in the same house, with the same dysfunctional parents and they had to listen to the same fights, just because Angela turned her cheek and looked the other way with a smile, while Lilith would sit down and feel sorry for herself, doesn't mean either of them were better than the other

these are just two separate ways of coping with the same situation

I will say, I do adore that in the sims 4 they move out and go to university together, just the two of them, and they are finally realizing that they have common ground, finally bonding and taking baby-steps towards healing their relation

I can confirm that you just bond in a different way with your sibling when your parents aren't around, and it took moving out for them to realize that ;0;

Asylum Challenge sims and their criminal past

Kaoru Martínez, aka "Scissors". His crime was reselling "Running with Scissors" playsets illegally. The product was banned after many lethal accidents and its commercialization strictly regulated. Has strange nightmares about losing rock paper scissors to a ghostly figure, but otherwise doesn't remember anything.

Julio Amieba, aka "Ameba". Sixam name unknown. Involved with illegal alien weapons trade. No one knows his motive, he barely speaks Simlish and has lost connection to his telephatic abilities.

María Palacios, aka "Art Attack". Involved in illegal art trade. After breaking into the Deh'Javu Art Museum Archives and stealing the original "Sunny the Tragic Clown" painting, Sunny showed up at her house and she decided she would rather turn herself in than having to deal with him. Her memories of the event are gone, but the depression still follows her.

Noemí Mendía, aka "The tinderbox". Arsonist, her targets are tacky mansions and other buildings she deems "ugly". Dealed illegal fireworks as a side hustle. Again, no memory of her past, but when the moldy carpets and faded wallpaper of the Asylum get too overwhelming, she goes outside and lights a cigarette.

Nora Solano, aka "Mediocre Widow" or, for the true crime fans, "Fake Olive". She hated being called a copycat so much that she attempted to murder the Grim Reaper to prove she was unique. Of course, that didn't work, and her past crimes were eventually proven. Her massive inferiority complex never went away, even after the memory wipe.

Alicia Rodríguez, aka "The Witch". Former politician, involved with various mobs and money laundering schemes, repeated road traffic infractions. Feared for that and for her alleged supernatural abilities. But here, no one, not even her, knows who she is.

Sergio Alonso, aka "Bulldozer". Passionate and violent defender of his favorite football team. Was involved with Alicia's schemes, but she betrayed him and blamed him for many of her own crimes. He was a fugitive until he was found by the misterious organization that runs the asylum. Now, when he sees his favorite team on tv, he feels nothing.

Antonio Feliciano, the caretaker. His only crime is being desperate enough to participate in this shady experiment, hoping there will be a reward in the end.

Flirtin' over some grilled cheese.

After a nice healthy dinner of processed cheese and buttered bread, the two moved their date to the living room. Remembering Noriko's words from earlier in the day, Natasha worked up the courage to ask John to go steady. Not having the heart to say 'no', John said yes.

I would just like to put a kind reminder out into the world that John has been and probably will continue to see Sharon. Make of that what you will. Poor Natasha.

Feeling disappointed from Sharon’s refusal, John invited Natasha over. She’s been hounding him for wanting to cook and have dinner together anyways…

….he should’ve figured she would make grilled cheese. Regardless, her grilled cheese making skills are unparalleled and they spent plenty of time catching up.

As he was seeing her off for the night, she plucked up the courage to do something that she’s been wanting to do for a while and left him completely speechless.
