Give me Love - LN4 PART2
Lando Norris x fwb!Reader
summary: in his previous relationships he couldn’t protect them from the backlash of simply being with him. but will protecting only end up hurting you?
(not proof read)
Rain or Shine
loosely based off ROS by mac miller
‘Just wanna ask a question umm, have you, have you, have you ever been in love before?’
Lando found himself lost without you. That saying where you never know what you’ve got until it’s gone never read more true to him. He hated how he left you there at the cafe. He knew throughout your relationship together all you wanted was to be fought for. With him leaving like that, he confirmed every doubt you ever had in him.
He knew throughout your relationship together all you wanted was to be fought for. With him leaving like that, he confirmed every doubt you ever had in him. His season continued at its slow pace, McLaren were disappointed with his lack of performance, especially since he was on fire in the beggining of the season he was on fire, when he was with you.
He spent his post season down time keeping tabs on your social media, daily pictures of your cafe kept him in the loop. Dan would often make an appearance in the background of some. A presence he chose to ignore.
Lando had never felt so insecure of himself. He was so sure that keeping you at a distance when you shared those two years together was best for the both of you. But now, being on the sidelines, watching you live your life from afar hurt him. He loved you and he never got the chance to tell you. He never uttered those words to you before.
‘You should probably take your heels off, ‘cause you've been running through my mind’
He remembered when you said it to him the first time, a year into your semi-relationship, you said it so causally, but the way you said it, captured him by the heart, he was yours in soul but he was too cowardly to be all for you.
He still lived in the UK at the time and you’d wandered into his house on a cold December evening after work, kicking off your shoes at his doorstep. He didn’t hear you come in but he remember how he screeched as you walked in on him wrapping up your Christmas presents.
He was so upset that you’d caught a glimpse of his surprise for you. You begged and begged for him to let you open them early, you knew what most of them were. He gave in saying you could open the smallest one, he rambled on as you opened it saying it was supposed to be a stocking filler.
You held in your palm a mintiture McLaren racecar, it was decorated with the chrome comeback livery. A nod to your support as you attended the British Grand Prix.
Your grin was wide, the Cheshire Cat would be jealous, “as we’re not together for Christmas I thought you could at least have a mini me around.”
“Oh my god. I love you. You’re adorable, this is adorable.”
You had said it so causally. He liked that, he liked that you never asked him to say it back, he wanted to so many times, but he never did. And now he was living with that regret.
He reminisced on every moment he had with you, every little thing reminded him of you.
He was back home for Christmas, he was sick of just seeing your cafe on a phone screen. He convinced himself he could just go on a quick run past the cafe, just to check in on you. He knew you’d be there bright and early before opening, if he could just catch a glimpse he’d feel closer to you.
He slows his pace as he nears the shop, glancing over the road he sees you in the cafe, unfortunately occupied by Dan. You were flailing your arms around, pointing at the sparse Christmas tree you’d added for decoration and then back at the man stood before you.
Lando’s brain couldn’t even catch up as his feel had already made the steps towards the front door.
“You’re so careless! How could you?!” You yelled.
“Get over it. Actually no I’m over it, over this. I’m done watching you pine over someone who doesn’t want you. I’m done.”
As Lando goes to open the door it swings towards him Dan storming out as he grunts “shops closed today pal” clearly not recognising him as he stormed past in anger.
Opening the door he finds you crouched on the floor, dustpan in hand. The ornament he gave you when you declared your love now in pieces on the floor before you. You mustn’t have heard him enter as you lower yourself to the floor sitting crossed legged, the mess in-front of you wondering if the pieces could stick back together.
You heard a creek of a floorboard behind you. Turning your head to see the last person you expected.
“I’m so sorry that I broke it.” You say still sat on the floor, glossy eyed.
“It’s not you that broke it, I wouldn’t worry too much. Maybe we can fix it? Glue it back together or something?” You both felt as if you weren’t talking about the decoration anymore.
You stand up, brushing your hands on your sweatpants, “I don’t think it can be. It’ll have cracks and they’ll show and it’ll only break again.”
“Then I will buy you a new one. We can start fresh and you can chose any livery you wanted.”
He wanted to start fresh to prove to you he could give you you deserved. You deserved a whole lot more than him, he hated that he treated you like a dirty secret. You were beautiful, kind, passionate and forgiving. And he took it all for granted.
“Why are you here Lando?” You sigh, finally getting to the point. No more decoration analogies, you wanted to know why he came back.
‘Love is power, swear there's something about her that make me nervous’
He was in his head trying to figure out what to say and how to say it. He was never the best with words and even worse with his actions. He always relied on you knowing how he felt about you with having to break down his walls and show his ‘weaker’ side.
“I’m here for you.”
His eyes looking adoringly into yours, you’d swoon if you weren’t so hurt. You wished he would’ve been there for you when you needed him. You wished you were good enough for him from the start.
“I’m here, because I wanted to tell you that I’ve always loved you y/n.”
His words hurt, like your heart was being stung by rose thorns, pretty but painful.
‘Your love is not too kind to me’
I dont think I deserved to be treated the way I was. And I don’t think you did love me until you lost me. I don’t want you to love me like that, your love hurts.” You’re picking at the skin beside your fingernails eyes welling with tears once more.
“I promise to love you differently, in the way that you deserve.” He breaks his rigid stance, stepping towards you, taking your hand in his.
I just want to be with you. Only you. I know there’s distance but we’ll make it through. I promise to you I will be better for you.
You shake your hands from his, pulling him into a hug, digging your face into his shoulder, his scent surrounding you, comforting you. You pull your head back slightly to look into his eyes, testing his sincerity.
Your lips touch as if it was the first time. It’s the first time he kisses you with love, not lust. The first time kissing you as if he needs it not wants it.
Although your past was broken scattered across the floor, there are new memory’s to be hung on next years Christmas tree.
‘And I will be yours through rain or through shine’

Give Me Love - LN4
Lando Norris x fwb!Reader
summary: in his previous relationships he couldn’t protect them from the backlash of simply being with him. but will protecting only end up hurting you?
loosely based off give me love by ed sheeran
(not proof read)
"Give me love like her, 'cause lately I've been waking up alone"
He missed all of you.
He missed the way you laughed, covering your smile as you did so. He never understood why you were insecure of your smile. So he spent almost every minute with you trying to make you smile, eyes crinkled, he'd grab your hand attempting to get a glimpse of your scrunched up face.
He missed the way you ranted about topics you saw online, your voice rising slightly with passion as you spoke on things which either filled you with passion or disdain. More often than not he wouldn't have a clue what you were talking about but he loved how invested you were.
He missed the way you spoke. How you acted. He missed you.
When you weren't around the void couldn't be filled, he knew that but that didn't stop him attempting to disperse his feelings with emptiness.
Random girls residing in his bed while you were back in England or when he was flying around the world. He knew it was wrong but he'd picture your face beneath him as he fucked these strangers. That's all it was, a quick fuck. Momentary bliss before the clarity hit and he'd remember it wasn't you writhing from his touch.
He lay beside the girl who ever so slightly resembled you. He noticed her falling asleep, he used her so he decided to be courteous and at least let her stay the night, hoping she'd slip out before he awoke.
Since you, he never slept beside another girl, he made his way to his spare room, climbing in the smaller bed. You frequented his mind more as of recent. You'd only left a few weeks ago as his summer break began. You'd managed to book a few days holiday to visit him in his home in Monaco. The time you spent together was precious to both of you. You both treated each other as delicate, breakable items. You knew the other was in reach but not yours to keep.
You'd had multiple conversations across your 2 years of friendship about becoming more, never fully tried on both parts. Lando's fondness of you found him wanting to keep you away from the media as much as possible. They knew you existed, but they didn't know much about you and he wanted to keep it that way. He wanted to protect you, he couldn't in his previous relationships, losing girls he thought he loved due to media and fan scrutiny. And his feelings for you were a thousand times more intense, he couldn't put you through that. He couldn't hurt you.
You on the other hand were hurting because of that. You knew he had good intentions but seeing him stumble out of clubs with girl after girl left a sour taste in your mouth. He felt no shame exposing his promiscuity to the media thus you couldn't help feeling the rising feeling of perhaps he was ashamed of you. He reassured you that wasn't at all true but the insecurity crept through from time to time.
You adored him. Before him life was grey, you worked in a small coffee shop, all your friends moving on to big and beautiful jobs whilst you struggled to get by. Your dream was to own your own cafe so you muddled on by in your mediocre job saving every penny to fulfil your dream. Then Lando came along. Ordering a coffee from the cafe you worked in almost every day that he was back in the UK.
The conversation was easy and the friendship blossomed. No man has made you as happy as Lando has. A few months into your friendship Lando admitted to you he didn't even like coffee, he simply panicked the first time he saw you. His return to the shop everyday was just to see you, he simply tolerated the bitter taste just to speak to you.
When Lando heard of your dream he begged for you to let him buy you a cafe and get you started, you refused every time. In fact you rarely let him spend any money on you, paying your way as much as possible. Obviously some extravagant dates he'd taken you on in quiet towns across different countries your wage didn't come close to, but other than that you were as independent as your salary would allow.
Lando recognised your independence. Selfishly, it was one of the first things he loved about you. Most girls he'd been involved with saw him as a walking bank, but you didn't. You didn't see his status or the money in his bank. You saw him.
It terrified him for a while, but he couldn't escape you. The love he felt for you. But he also couldn't escape his lifestyle.
Tonight was no different. You hadn't spoken for about a week after pictures of his last rendevous leaked. You did this every time pictures of that nature were released. You knew your radio silence wouldn't last long but you liked to protect your peace for a little before running back to the man you can't have.
"Maybe tonight i'll call ya, after my blood turns into alcohol"
Lando stumbled out of the club, alone for once. Every time he got papped in these situations he promised himself he'd behave to prove to you that he was worth holding on to. Like clockwork, as soon as the taxi dropped him at his Monaco home he was on the phone.
"Lando."
"Y/n. I've missed your voice."He slurred over the phone, you knew the routine, you knew he was drunk, his speech only confirming what you knew.
"Any pictures i need to be warned to look out for tomorrow morning?" Only half joking, he knew it hurt you, but being together would be worse he thought.
"Not tonight. Just needed to hear your voice. Needed to know you're still mine."
You sighed, this is teetering on too much.
"I've been yours for two years Lando. Not much has changed. I wait for you, you sleep around, i get hurt. Then you ring me drunk apologising and repeat."
"I'm yours as much as your mine, y/n. You know that. You know why I can't give my all to you, I can't be the one to be the reason you're hurting." His eyebrows furrowed, this isn't how this normally goes. You're rarely angry at him, you're forgiving and caring. But tonight he feels the conversation shifts to passive aggressive, even he can tell despite his drunken state.
"This is hurting Lando. You can't be that foolish to think i can do this forever. We're playing hide and seek to try and turn this round. I want you but not like this. I was going to say this next time i saw you. You're hurting me and i need time now."
"No." He panicked, he wasn't sure what to say. A refusal probably wasn't the smartest but he couldn't find the words to beg you not to do this, to give him another chance. But those words have been uttered a few too many times recently.
You wanted more than a no, but even if he fought, you'd been pushed too far this time. "You'll be fine Lan, another girl is around the corner you know that, but hold her tighter this time. Don't fall into this routine with the next one."
Tears spilled from your eyes, you knew he didn't mean to hurt you, hes not a bad person. He's in fact the best person in your life, but nothing changes no matter what you say and you're all out of fight.
"No, i just want to hold you", his voice cracks. He can't have lost you.
"I love you Lando, i do but i spend more time missing you and worrying about the next time my hearts going to shatter than i do loving you."
"I'm sorry y/n i can change ill be better, ill move back to the UK, we can fix this." Hes begging praying to all the Gods or anyone out there to hear his plea.
"It's gone too far this time. Be safe and be happy, my love. You''ll forever be in my heart but you'll never be mine."
----- ----- -----
"And it been a while but i still feel the same."
He hated to admit it, but he's been anything but himself in the last 4 months. After he subsequently ripped his own heart out, you went no contact. In the first week he thought this was one of your phases and you'd come back like he'd gotten so used to you doing. But one week became two and then so on.
He checked your socials everyday, begging for glimpses into your life. It hurt to be an observer to your life but it was the only way he felt close to you now. He'd flown to the UK after Singapore, he had a few week before his next race and McLaren were begging him to return and work on the simulator.
It was no doubt his performance had declined since you left. His closer friends at McLaren, the few he actually trusted aware of your 'relationship' recognised the correlation. He refused to be in the UK between races, not trusting himself to avoid you if he was back. But they needed him to be better and the HQ was the best place for that.
And now that he was back he was indeed struggling to avoid turning up at the cafe. He never did, but he would often drive past on the way to work, hoping for a glimpse of you.
Like clockwork, after his morning run he was straight onto instagram, searching your profile.
yourusername: "café des amoureux open for business!! *address* !!!
His legs were already running to his car, his fingers copying the address into maps. His mind disregarding your plea of no contact, this was your dream. You were still his favourite person, before it got too much he was your biggest supporter of your dreams. He wanted to tell you how proud he was.
It was 8am and you'd only just opened, expecting a slow day as it was the opening day. The bell rang signifying someones entrance, you hurried out the kitchen a grin on your face as you approached the counter. A familiar face standing before you a sheepish grin adorning his face.
He couldn't read your reception to his presence. "Y/n." He breathed out. "You did it! You fucking did it!! He cheered, joy and pride laced in his tone.
You ran around to him, almost knocking him over, burying your face into shoulder, his familiar scent surrounding you. "We did it, Lan."
We. Without his encouragement, your confidence wouldn't be high enough to have followed the dream. Even in his absence, you remember every pep talk he gave you. Every time he wiped your tears after your 50 hour weeks and when your bills were getting too much. Every phone call at any hour whatever the country. He will always be your best friend, he just couldn't be the one to love you loyally.
"Y/n can i just say-"
"Gorgeous it looks wonderful!" A voice interrupted him. He didn't even hear the bell go, too entranced by your beautiful appearance
He turned to see a man in a suit standing in the doorway, his hair curly like Lando's. There were certainly some similarities, please say this is the landlord.
"Lan this is my f-" "-boyfriend" he finished for her, Lando didn't like that. Firstly he convinced himself she was going to say friend, secondly she has a voice of her own, she doesn't need to be spoken for.
"Hi mate" the stranger smiled, Lando convinced it was a smirk. He was cocky, Lando didn't like him. The boyfriend extended a hand to Lando, to which he simply gave an upturned nod. He didn't feel the need to exchange manors with him.
"How long have you been together?" You could tell he was hurt just looking at him, his voice confident but his eyes with a fragile glint in them.
"Only a month, we've actually not discussed labels yet!" You defended, not too sure why. Dan was lovely and even lived in the same country!
"No time like the present! This should be a day to remember, not just for the cafe!" Dan grinned.
Lando didn't like that either. Today should be about the cafe. Nothing else. He decided not to comment, the air already felt tense to him. He felt a tight feeling in his chest.
This must've been how you felt over the 24 months when you saw him with random girls. You endured it and waited for 2 years for him yet Lando feels like he can't stand this feeling for 2 more minutes.
"I need to go, Zak will start to think I've been kidnapped."
You felt hurt he wouldn't stay longer, you wished Dan hadn't turned up. You had so much to say. "Oh Lan please stay for a bit."
"You don't need me. To stay i mean. You'll be busy, I'll leave you to it. I'm so proud of you y/n/n. Always."
You pulled him in for a hug, "please stay." you whispered in his ear.
"Goodbye y/n/n." He gently smiled at you as he pulled away, quickly exciting hearing Dan say how nice it was to meet him. Leaving you stood, abandoned once more as Dan gave you a hug as you stood frozen. Leaving him over the phone was so much easier than watching him leave in person, he left you with the sense it'd be longer than four months before your paths crossed again
Fuck, fuck, fuck. You're gone, finally moved on, he thought...
"Maybe i should let you go."

Flip A Switch - Lando Norris
Lando Norris Mafia AU
As much as we try to suppress the stigma, strong women will continue to be perceived as intimidating until you learn to love us.
PART 3 - Demons
I sped straight home to Mandi. She's my absolute ride or die, she's also the only person I've ever been allowed to be around. My father always hated anyone who tried to associate with me, Mandi somehow charmed her way into being my best friend and almost like an adopted cousin to my family. She's been by my side from the age of 15 and will be forever.
I may not have a gang of men supporting me but combined, Mandi and I have more intelligence than the lot of them. Mandi suggested there was no time to be wasted so we packed up all the stuff we could carry, my essentials consisted of all the weapons i could fit into my bag, Mandi however filled hers with clothes for every scenario as in her words "murderous rampages can still look cute". And I can't argue with that.
We had a plane waiting for us in Dover, we agreed flying from London would be a little too obvious however we were going to detour through London to possibly trick them in case they were tracking us in anyway. Keegan is not the brightest so I don't think he would've caught on just yet, but you never know his team might surprise me.
We sped down winding country roads, only an hour from London where we'd stop briefly.
Mandi reached to turn down the music, "What do you think Norris meant when he said his family leaving your dad was a misunderstanding?"
Now i love Mandi, but she does like to see the good in people. This was just not one of the times it was needed.
"Mands, he's a man. He's lying. As much as he painted it that he wanted to help me, there's always an ulterior motive, there always is with men in this business."
"Your dad was a man though. You trusted him, even more than you trust me."
"Daddy always had my best interests at heart. He never lied to me." I miss him so much, we were exactly the same. My mother used to hate the way we'd pair up in everything we did. My relationship with him fuelled Keegan's hatred as well. Daddy loved Keegan, he was a great father to us both. But daddy knew Keegan wasn't business minded, he was messy and he never planned things out or thought before he acted, he wouldn't make a good leader and he's going to ruin my entire bloodlines reputation if we don't get to Spain.
Keegan knows. Unsure when they're leaving.
"Why is he still reaching out to you?" Mandi questions as Lando's message flashes up on the dash. "You must've made a lasting impression." She smirked, I wasn't sure what she was getting at but i didn't appreciate it.
"Not going to send some love hearts back then?"
She finds herself too funny.
"Fuck off and put this in," I lean over my the centre console into my bag in the back, pulling out earpieces. She raises an eyebrow, I already know what she's thinking.
"Are we fucking spies now or something?" She laughs.
"I know you think it's excessive Mands but this isn't a drive along with my dad, you're fully involved now. It's just a precaution." She nods, slipping the device into her ear.
The low fuel warning light flashes up on the dash, "might have to make an early stop."
We pull into a rough looking petrol station. Mandi jumps out of the car beginning to fill it up. Watching her every move in case of any unexpected danger she waltzes into the station. She suddenly turns to the cashier before bolting to the dimly lit bathroom.
"Y/n/n, fuck there's two men sat in the cafe. Guns on the table, the cashier looks fucking terrified. I think they're- I hear her say over the earpiece.
The sound of glass exploding beside my head cut off whatever she was saying. Shards flew all around me, i instinctively ducked down into the foot well of Mandi's car.
"Mands. Don't move. Do not leave the bathroom" I stressed, popping my head up slightly, the men had disappeared from the cafe however the entrance to the petrol station door was swinging.
"Are you fucking joking? You'll die on your own!"
"Stay there!" I screamed, she's not here for this.
Footsteps clicked around the car, "I think we got her! The boss will be happy. Check her."
The passenger side door where I sat flew open, my gun being the first thing to welcome him, not the dead body he was expecting. A smirk found its way on my face as he scrambles for his own gun once more. One shot to the head. He slumps straight down. I jump out, where is this other idiot. "If you're going to put a hit on me, you actually have to hit me you fucker." I spit, sliding my way around the car.
"You've got a smart fucking mouth. They all say it's a shame you're a bitch with a body like that." I feel his arms clasp around me, pulling me against his body. One hand clasping a knife pressed into my neck, not hard enough to pierce the skin, but with one glide, dead. His other hand wrapped in his hand pulling my head back into his shoulder.
Fuck. I bend my arm backwards, grabbing at his manhood, squeezing and twisting. He screams out in pain, leading his grip to tighten, the opposite of what I was hoping would happen.
"Fuck you." He seethes, smashing my head into the side of the car. My vision going with every hit.
I hear Mandi, come out screaming. She's not armed. I made a mistake not providing her with a weapon, i didnt think we'd need them this early into the trip. Fucking stupid.
I want to yell at her to stop, I don't know how close she is.
I hear a gun shot.
Mandi.
But then the grip begins to loosen in my hair his head sliding down my back a warm trail of what i assumed is his blood staining the back of my hoodie. Did Mandi have a gun?
"What the fuck?" I hear her exclaim.
My body collapses finally, my vision still blurred but the piercing screaming sound in my ears slowly dispersing.
"How many times do I have to stop these situations before you realise I'm on your side?"
I know that voice. I'm starting to hate that voice. Lando.
I know he just saved me and Mandi, but he just can't mask the cockiness in his voice.
"How did you know we were here?" Mandi questions as she runs over to me, wiping the hair that was stuck to my head with blood away. Using her sleeve to clean up what she could.
"If they can track you, so can we." He shrugged. He's worryingly nonchalant after killing someone. I feel pangs of guilt even if i hate them, with Lando, not a care in the world, he was born to be a killer. I was taught.
"Thank you." I choke out, my voice hoarse.
"Nat has a place not too far from here. It's protected, you guys can crash with us tonight. No strings if you still want to be proud and carry on without us you can. But get some rest first." He speaks to Mandi, he can tell she's not as one track minded as i am.
"No we need to carry on-"
"Y/n with what car? You're in no state of mind to make decisions."
I try to argue but i feel Lando's hands already, grabbing both my arms, pulling me up. I lean into him, feeling a lot less stable than i convinced myself i was. Mandi already stepping into the car, Lando assists me to the car, my arm around his waist as his is slid beneath my arms.
"Good to see you again, y/n!" Natalie cheers as Lando places me in the backseat, he leans over clicking in my seat belt for me, I want to protest, but i genuinely don't think i could've done that myself.
Its strange how Natalie is so cheery as if she didn't just witness a murder, possibly two.
The mumbles of their voices all begin to merge together. I hear Mandi, shaking me to stay away just until we get to Natalie's.
All i could do was hum.
I can't fight it. Their voices finally disappear.

Flip A Switch - Lando Norris
Lando Norris Mafia AU
As much as we try to suppress the stigma, strong women will continue to be perceived as intimidating until you learn to love us.
(Not proof read)
PART 2 - Bad Blood
"Morning gorgeous!" Mandi smiled as I skulked into the kitchen. Heels in hand, uncomfortable in the smart attire that i stupidly had chosen, unfortunately as a woman in this business if you wear anything slightly casual or that makes you feel slightly good about yourself then kiss away your chances to be taken seriously.
Tumblr media
"I knew you'd come round and listen to wise old Mands." Beaming she was, beaming at the odd occurrence of her being right.
"Shut up, Mandi."
"Wearing heels won't intimidate a man who is significantly taller than you with them on." She spotted, she is correct in my intention of wearing heels, but it wasn't helping my current mental state, my eyes glaring into the back of her head as she made herself a coffee.
Glentwood. 20 minutes. The message alerted.
Great, I thought, nothing like meeting on their turf in a bar that'll be closed for another 14 hours. "If i don't message you in 2 hours, i'm dead." i smiled at her as i slipped on my heels grabbing my car keys.
"Optimistic as ever, have fun!!" She smiled, following me out and parting on her walk to work...
-Glentwood-
Glentwood was the most popular bar in the City, owned by the female members of McLaren it was the perfect place for me to become the easiest target they've ever faced. Or that's what they probably thought.
Knocking on the huge wooden doors I awaited for some tattooed hunk to answer the door instead a petite girl no taller than 5"3 in an all black suit greeted me with a smile.
"Y/n!" She smiled, much more excited than one should be when faced with someone who was once quite the enemy. "Oh Lando has told me so much about you. I'm Natalie, head bartender, if you will." Natalie was in no way what i would expect from McLaren.
"Nice to meet you." My smile quivered in confusion to why such a sweet girl worked for such monsters. Grabbing my hand, Natalie pulled me into the bar, the wooden interior radiated a rather glamorous aura about the place.
"Lando is waiting in the office. He seemed rather excited to have you on board. It would be great to have another girl around." She beams, i was going to correct her, telling her that i wasn't agreeing to anything, in all honestly, i'm not too sure why i'm here. But images of her doe eyes saddening and lips becoming tucked into a frown was not worth the guilt. So i stayed silent.
"Just run along up the first flight of stairs second door on the right" She nodded in the direction of the spiralled staircase, her hands clasped together whilst the smile never once shifted from her face. Intense.
"Thanks." I mumbled, my heels echoing along the tiled black and white flooring. My palms began to sweat slightly to which i brushed them against the side of my suit. Pull your self together.
A voice called to come in after i knocked on the door, there was Lando sat in an excessively big chair tucked under an also as excessively big wooden desk. Clad in black suit pants and black shirt pushed half way up his forearms. His veins protruded down his muscular arms. He was attractive even I couldn't deny that. How unfortunate that his pretty face was paired with his overly cocky personality.
"Morning Lando, what a glamorous lair." I mocked, the room did sort of resmble what a vampire would enhabit.
His faced remained unamused, "I dont know if you're entirley aware how fucked you are and how much you actually need my help. If i was you I'd sit down and shut up."
Now in any other scenario I would leave after being spoken to like that. However, contrary to what he believe i do know how much danger i could be in now that i am essentially on my own. So I sat.
He lent further into the desk his hands clasped together, looking deep into my eyes, "From what we've heard your brother is looking for an eye for an eye. As one of his men was killed and you're the only one he was chasing they're after your blood. More so than they were before.-"
"Now let me stop you there. So you kill the goon and i have the target on my head? I told you i was handling it and now i'm in even more danger than i needed to be?" This stupid man. These stupid men. No brains the lot of them, they're like little boys who have been given too much power.
"The target was already there. I just made it bigger."
Brilliant, i thought.
"We've been led to believe that in your fathers will, Keegan was written out and you were to inherit everything. However, he has now cleared any trace of that. Except in your fathers safe in Spain. With Keegan still around that's the only way to maintain your fathers legacy and save Keegan from fucking everything he worked for."
"So all I need to do is to go to Spain sounds like an easy task? You couldn't have just relayed this to me over text?" Wasted journey, I thought.
"Keegan will know your every move and if we found out about the copy he wont be that far behind. You may have the brains of the family but he has the man power, they'll figure it out eventually. So I propose, that you join us. An alliance if you will? You need the man power and don't let this go to your head but we could use your intelligence in the trade."
Ignoring the compliment, i stared at him in disbelief. Is he mad? His father and my father were close, Lando was even part of my fathers outer circle, Hell Lando and I had a good friendship. Until one day Lando and his family ditched my father in one of our peak hardships.
Upon their disappearance coincidentally so did secrets within our family started leaking to the world of crime. My father was furious I remember him cursing the Norris family from ours. I'd never seen him so on edge than when the Norris family was brought up. He must be mad.
"You must be mad. You think I'd work alongside you? Now I don't know what happened between our families, I do know that my father hated yours and that carries onto me. He'd be turning in his grave if I joined you!"
I'm aware that I probably need more man power, I know it'd be a risk to go at this alone. But i believe i would make a good go of it before even looking in the direction of McLaren.
"Y/n, the thing between our families was a misunderstanding, you need us. I promise you-"
"I don't want to hear it. I don't need you."
I could hear him call my name as I stormed out of his office, lair, whatever, making sure to slam the door after me.
Natalie was waiting at the bottom of the stairs, to let me out I assume, "Went well then?" she giggled sarcastically.
I hummed in response, shame her boss was a rat, we probably would've gotten on quite well.
Slipping into the drivers seat, I slammed the steering wheel with my hands before resting my head on it. My chest burning from anger. My dads words ringing in my head,
Can't trust anyone but me, Pumpkin. Especially not the Norris'. Especially not men.
I knew i was unsafe on my own, but I'd risk it for now. Next stop Spain.

Flip A Switch - Lando Norris
Lando Norris Mafia AU
As much as we try to suppress the stigma, strong women will continue to be perceived as intimidating until you learn to love us.
PART 1 - Unnecessary Violence
Women are small. They should act naive, innocent and weak. That's what you were told. That's what i was still told. Mother said it's the most attractive thing a girl can be. My brother said it's the safest thing a girl can be. Daddy said it is the most stupid thing that i could be. 'Be strong', daddy said and to that i would reply with what my mother and brother had instilled into me. Anger would rise up, "You're a bright girl y/n, but you trust too easily. That'll do you no good if you follow in my footsteps."
I wanted to follow in his footsteps, i really did, but i was stuck in the contrasting beliefs of society and my father's expectations. I wanted to do him proud, he after all risked his life everyday to keep our family safe. But i was just a girl, what could i have done?
Daddy never got a real funeral, that's just the way it was for us kind of people. I think of him everyday, but no one dares to utter his name which leaves my mind to be his only place of rest. After he passed, my mother went awol, i haven't seen her in months. My brother is now mad with power, thinking that he can drag daddy's organisation from the pits it collapsed into. He is wrong. Daddy always said Keegan didn't have the ability to work in such a treacherous environment, but of course he never listened.
"Keegan, daddy wouldn't have wanted this. This is so far from how he'd organise things" I exclaimed, chasing after him down the halls of our family home. It was supposed to be an 'event' of sorts to celebrate my fathers life, too little too late i thought, Keegan never celebrated his life when he was actually alive. I was certain this was an attempt at gloating to his so called peers about his ever so important role, despite it being quite the contrary, he is only making things worse, which is literally impossible, but somehow not for Keegan.
"Just because you were dad's favourite does not mean that you know how to run this company, y/n. You're still a little girl. You know nothing. I learnt it all the day Dad bailed on us. Stop acting like he was a Saint, because, if you actually knew anything about how to run this, you would know he was far from it."
I wanted to fight back, but causing a seen was wrong, unnecessary and exactly what he wanted, and you would see me dead before I followed another mans orders, related or not.
The halls were starting to burst with people. The luxurious fabric of suits and gowns brushing against my bare arms as a turned from my brother and stormed away from his ignorance.
The corners of my mouth slightly turned upwards as i caught glimpses of those that i knew but not enough to allow them to want to stop for a conversation. The amount of people i didn't know however most certainly outweighed those that i did and that was how my brother worked. Quantity, not quality. All ego, no class, clarifying to me that this is in no way what my father would've wanted and is unfortunately all down to my brothers stupidity and selfishness.
The mafia is a dangerous place. Being the daughter of a previously feared leader does underpin you with some stereotypes. I, however, wasn't as conformist as the other girls that i knew. I wouldn't let the sleazy sons of other organisations tempt me into going against my family for a below average shag in the back of a stolen car. I'd like to think i had a little more class. As i looked disgustingly at the girls who were doing just that the mingling started as the sound of erratic jazz music drowned out the painfully boring conversations of controversy. Not even a week earlier most individuals were likely to have been literally at war.
I glanced across the room, my mothers 'friends' dotted around, judgemental scowls plastered across their faces. There we certainly some unusual and dangerous occurrences unfolding in front of me.
The jazz music cut off abruptly as my brother clambered on stage a few feeble looking goons following him in a pathetic attempt in looking intimidating, my hand instantly raising in humiliation.
"Well, that's embarrassing." the presence beside me uttered into my ear. My eyes raising in the attempt to recognise who the husky voice came from. Empty eyes were starring into mine, looking as disappointed as i was at my brothers underwhelming speech that he's spluttering out. I hummed in agreement turning back to the mess unfolding in front of me.
"I'm Lando."
Lando.
I recognised his face, flashes of my fathers profiles flickered through my mind as i tried to put name and face to his crime. He once worked here, but was found to be a rat.
"Norris?" Rat.
His eyebrow raised along with the slight quiver of the corner of his lip. "Impressive, you really are your fathers daughter. Perhaps it should be you that is up there." He nodded towards the stage.
An unsettling feeling rushed through my body, pushing his shoulder i questioned, "what do you think you're doing here? Do you not have an inch of respect?"
"I-"
He was cut off as Keegan pinned me as the next victim of his embarrassing 'speech' if you could even label it that. "And there she is." His eyes dark, filled with hatred. "The attention seeker of the family. The reason that dad died. The reason that i was neglected as a child. My father never appreciated me, i was the one destined for this life. I worked so hard to make him proud but princess y/n/n always stole the limelight. Which is why, you're out sis." He spat.
I felt empty, shocked. Out?
A hand wrapped around my bicep dragging me through the crowds of people. My senses finally kicked in after i was out of the hall.
I shook off the grip, "get off me!" I yelled. One of brothers goons looking into my eyes. "Out." He stated, nodding his head towards the entrance of my home. I tilted my head in shock.
"No. Fuck you. This is my fucking house. Who do you think you are?" My arm swung for his face, knuckles connecting to his cheek with unexpected force, after the shock had escaped him he grabbed my arms, pinning me to the wall my face pressing onto the cool surface. I felt the barrel of a gun press into my skull. Fuck. "You just find it so easy to fuck things up don't you. Keegan didn't say kill you, but i do fancy seeing your brains splattered against this wall."
"Why because you think it'll make Keegan love you a little bit more. Aw so cute-," i heard the gun being cocked and then suddenly all of the pressure he held against me fled my body, bang.
Swinging round, I was expecting pain to hit my body, nothing came. There he was lying on the floor, Lando standing above him, gun in hand starring at the victim on the floor. Silence filled the corridor and the hall that i was just forced out of. "Out. Now." he glared at me, his eyes flickering to the entrance doors behind me.
We began walking towards the doors before the guest in hall, looked out in curiosity to see a dead boy on the floor, blood pouring from his head. "I didn't need your help." I demanded as we excited what was once my home.
A snort left his nose, "you know, some how i don't think that is true and you're welcome by the way." We reached his car, to which he nodded his head to.
"You're joking, right? You really are mad if you think i'm going anywhere with you, whether you saved my life or not, i do not want to be around you.", now it was my turn to laugh.
"So you admit that i saved your life?" I rolled my eyes and began to walk down the road.
"They'll be after you. We can help you." he shouted down the road.
"See you around, Norris." I yelled back. No way in Hell am giving him what he wants, at least not right away.
***
Keegan hadn't tried to find me, but opposing gangs had and although i can certainly fight my own in a 'normal' situation, when fifteen groups of ruthless and revenge hungry men are after you it becomes hard to leave your house.
"You could just give Norris a bell." Mandi suggested. Sitting in her box room which in fact had been my bedroom for the last two weeks. She was my only friend and the only one who knew everything about me. But things such as what she just stated shows how she can still be so out of touch.
"No."
"Y/n. Think about it. Your life is at risk and as much as your dad hated the McLarens*, he would've hated you dying more." She attempted to reason, and she was right,. "And who gives a damn about your brother, do you not want to help McLaren in taking him down? He literally tried to kill you!" she exclaimed.
Rolling my eyes, "well no he didn't, just one of his goons."
"You trust too easily. Please just think about it, gorgeous. You're the strongest person i know but right now, you can not fight this battle alone." She sighed getting up from my bed, "love you, goodnight."
"Night Mands."
I don't need your help, but I think we can come to a mutual deal.
-y/n
Y/n, I knew you'd come round. Are you currently busy?
Yes i'm going to bed. I'll discuss terms tomorrow. Night.

Curious Time - Lando Norris
Lando Norris x Singer!reader
Multiple part series where their friendship was easy, their feelings were confusing and the distance was the hardest <3
(Third person perspective)
!!explicit content warning: 18+!!
PART 5 -
CONVINCED ME
“You convinced me that I can't know if I never try. Love me like you do, you make me feel so new.”
Lando knew she wasn't for him. He was sick of being alone, almost the entire paddock had girlfriends, people who didn't doubt their relationship, someone who'd fight for him like he would do for her.
Lacy was passing time and that time had passed. After the call with Pippa he was inconsolable, no tears left his eyes, that wasn't how he dealt with things. But he was almost mute, only answering yes or no to any questions asked. He left Saskia in his bed no goodbye or anything and got on his flight to Singapore. Arguably the hardest race of the season, the weather was draining when you were out of the car, the sickness he felt within the car was unmatched. Until now. This loneliness looming over him couldn't be topped he felt.
Press day looming, he wasn't in any state to speak to anyone, act with his teammate or interact with fans. He wanted none of it. He wanted to do the race. Then fly to y/n. His flight was booked, no one knew he couldn't risk them telling her and her running away or attempting to convince her otherwise. He needed her in anyway, he just needed her.
She was aware of how he was feeling, she over heard max and him on the phone when she was visiting P. She couldn't pull herself away from the conversation. She ruined her chance with him and now she's destroyed his relationship with Lacy. She felt awful.
She planned before the album dropped to have a break from social appearances and interviews as once November 4th hit they'd be non stop. But her time was consumed with worry, about her future, about his, about everything. Her needed rest was anything but that.
She kept updated with Lando at the Singapore Grand Prix with his performance last year ending up second, all eyes were on McLaren.
Qualifying was here, Lando was in the zone flying in Q1 and Q2. She hoped he was channeling everything to keep him going. Q3 wasn't awful ending up 6th place, not the best place to start on the street circuit but similarly not the worst.
One thing she loved about Lando was his ability to let go as soon as his helmet was on, she's glad that was a trait he could still channel following the recent turmoil she'd caused for him.
She believed she'd blown all chance. Contact was less the minimum, his name didn't even grace her instagram likes anymore. Total radio silence. And she was struggling, the girls would take her out, introduce her to their friends. But the same rule applied, they weren't him. And although she couldn't have him, she certainly didn't want anyone else.
P2! Again Lando finished P2 in the race of his life it looked like. She cheered, reaching for her phone, only to put it down right away. It's not your place anymore she told herself.
Lando was ecstatic, the first positive emotion he'd felt in weeks. Although he wanted to celebrate with the team, he wanted to get to her more. Rushing out of the paddock jumping in his car, not before throwing his hat to a group of young boys waiting for him, watching them fight over it in his rear view as he drove away.
He rested for a few hours once he got to London, hoping no pictures of him had reached her timeline. A few hours of sleep he caught up on, before heading to her. He prayed she was in, it'd be just his luck if she wasn't.
It was 8pm, she's ready for an early night. Make up removed, hair falling slightly messily over her shoulders and matching pyjamas set covering her figure.
Making a cup of tea before bed, she pottered in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to boiled when a knock made her jump out of her skin as it echoed through her apartment.
The face appearing before her was the last person on earth she expected.
"Lando? What? Um, hi. What?" So startled sentence ran through her head but failed to reach her lips. She stepped aside for him to come in not saying anything else.
He looked tired but gorgeous as always, he too didn't say a word he just looked at her. She couldn't read his expression, maybe due to it being so long since she's seen him or because he wasn't sure what he was feeling himself.
!!!
He finally spoke, "don't say a word." He demanded, grabbing both sides of her face and pushing his body against hers so her back hit the door behind her. He kissed her softly but only for a second before it intensified. She was lost in the moment, her hands lifting up to get lost in his curls, pulling on them as he leaves her lips abandoned before he continues kissing and biting down her neck to her collarbones.
Her mind catches up with her, her voice small and out of breath from the kiss, "Lando. Lando! Wait." He stopped immediately, worried he'd taken it too far.
"Are you sure you want this? Are you just going to leave me tomorrow? You have every right to be angry but I don't want either if us to regret this." She's right, it'll be their first time sleeping together, hell that was their first time kissing each other more than just a peck.
He knew he wouldn't regret it, he was still upset. But he wouldn't regret it, he's wanted this for the last 2 years, he's needed this for the past 6 months.
"Y/n/n, it feels right doesnt it? Don't worry about tomorrow, do you want this now?" God she does her legs are already weak from the kiss, doing there best to relive some tension rubbing together.
No words necessary she attached her lips back to his all the confirmation he needed.
His hands slipped below her bare legs hoisting her up, she instinctively wrap your legs around his waist, moaning softly into his mouth as she feels him, hard, rubbing against her. He wanders straight into her bedroom, she praises herself for doing some decluttering earlier that day.
He rests her down on the bed, taking her in hair splayed out, "candles, huh? Were you expecting me?" He jokes. Humour right now is not appreciated by her as she leans up grabbing his hoodie pulling him on top of her.
He rest between her legs once more, arms beside her holding his weight above her. He pulls back from her kisses once more to which she groans in frustration.
"I don't think you're in the position to be demanding anything from me baby."
Baby
She's desperate for him and he's taking his sweet time. "Lando please." She whimpers trying to pull him down again, missing his lips against hers.
"Fuck say it again baby. Beg for me. Show me that you deserve it."
"Please. Please. I'll be good. Touch me, kiss me anything. Please"
He dives back down lips attacking her neck straight away, kissing, biting, marks being made down to her collarbones.
"Can I take this off?" He slides the strap off of her shoulder signalling he wants her naked infront of him.
She nods staring at him almost bewildered, she can't believe this is happening. She's hidden her feeling for so long and here he is undressing her after she believed she wouldn't see him again.
He pulls off her top shorts leaving her completely vulnerable in front of him.  Her nipples hard point at him, he's staring think, God she's beautiful. Not a single imperfection in his eyes. Her skin smooth to the touch, freckles delicately scattered over her body, her lips puffy, cheek flushed and marks from him littering her neck.
She notices him analysing her and instinctively goes to attempting to cover her bare body before him. Her arms wrap themselves around her chest, wondering if he likes what he sees or if he's changed his mind.
He grabs her wrists, holding them about her head with one of his large hands. "Don't." He says.
"Please don't hide yourself from me. You're perfect. You're mine and you're perfect." He kisses her once more wrists still pinned, she tries to fight it desperately wanting to touch him, get him out of his clothes and inside her. The more she resists the more he tightens.
"Lando. Do something please I'm begging you." She's throbbing at this point begging for his touch, desperate for it.
"Whatever you want, baby."
He removes his hoodie, she gapes at his body one she'd seen hundreds of times before but never it hovering over her, fuck.
He kisses from her neck down her chest, flicking her nipples with his tongue earning another moan from her. Taking them in her mouth biting and sucking gently as his hand travels down her stomach and between her legs. He'd never felt someone this desperate for him before. His slender fingers toy with her clit as her back arches from the contact, he inserts one finger, followed by another, his thumb now concentrating on her clit. She's moaning and writing at his touch.
He shuffles down her bed lips now attaching her clit, tongue swirling in circles whilst his fingers dance inside her.
"Lando. I'm so- don't- don't stop." Her body quivering beneath him his unoccupied arm laying across or stomach now to try and limit some movement.
Her body shakes as she reaches her highs, chanting his name louder and louder.
"Fuck." She exclaims.
"We're not done yet baby. You going to let me take care of you again?" His fingers finding the drawstring of his joggers pulling them off completely.
"Let me do something for you Lan, please" she looks at him through hooded eyes, looking exhausted already.
"No baby it's all about you right now." He removes the cloth of his boxers, setting her knees up beside him as she lays on her back.
"You ready baby? Can you take it?"
"I need it. Please I need to feel you." She cries out, he taps his tip on her now extremely sensitive clit before allowing himself to sink into her.
"Fuck" he whispers, she's gripped around him in a perfect fit. She was perfect for him.
Thrusting deeper and deeper, as she chants his name gripping onto any part she can. His arms are tattooed with the marks of her nails raking down them as she reaches her second high of the night, it hitting her hard.
Lando slows the rhythm as she begs him to be gentle clearing becoming overwhelmed and overstimulated. "You going to let me cum inside you baby? Can I fill you up?"
"Daddy please. Please"
Daddy. That finished it for him, hoping he could go a bit longer but once that word left her lips he was done for. He swears that's the most intense it's felt.
He gently removes himself from her, entering her en suite, grabbing the first towel he sees. Re entering her room she's propped herself up on her elbows, looking for him as if he's disappeared, slightly delirious. He wipes off what's leaked from her. Urging her to move up under the covers.
"Thank you for coming Lan." She sighs, wrapped in his arms, she's deeply missed being his little spoon. "I don't know what changed your mind. But thank you for being here."
"I'm glad I'm here but I don't want to talk about that right now. Just want to enjoy you and that great sex we had." He smirks into her shoulder, avoiding the dressing topic they'd both have to face at some point.
"Hmm I'd give it a 3/10." She mocks, knowing that's a complete lie.
"That's why you were screaming daddy at me right, baby? Where did that come from?" His smile getting wider and cockier at the minute.
"Please don't. It's your fault anyway.”
If that's his fault, he'd love to be to blame all day everyday. She's finally back in his arms and for now he's enjoying this ignorant bliss.

PART 4 -
I KNOW IT WON’T WORK
"What if I'm not worth the time and breath your saving?"

Tumblr media
It's finally finished! My debut album! I'm so proud of this, she's my baby. Thank you for being patient over these last 6 years. We've had singles, we've had EPs and now an ALBUM.
Introducing "I know it won't work" out November 4th!
To thank you, one more single off the album before she's all yours. The song the whole project is named after, 'I know it won't work' is yours!
Liked by landonorris, pietrapiola and 127,000 others
Since leaving Lando's in the summer, y/n had worked non stop on the album. She was right in telling him it wouldn't work as they now were speaking less than they ever had. Hence the blatantly obvious title track written solely about him. She put her soul into this album, songs that were personal to her every experience.
Everyone would interpret them differently, one of the things she loved about her art. But he'd know and in the back of her mind she worried for his reaction. Would he be happy? Would he be hurt?
Beautiful song. Call me sometime.
That was it. A simple message as if he knew she was worrying. It was just enough to calm her. She left his in May it was now September. Things were fine for a month, until calls got few and far between how she'd expected. It was normal she knew they'd come back to each other but this one hurt more, maybe because she felt his promises were now empty.
July was worse as Lando was spotted with some model she'd not heard of. She wasn’t one to believe gossip pages, so when she saw she couldn't think quick enough before her hands had type a message to Pietra, her inside woman when it came to Lando gossip due to her boyfriend and his 'bromance' as they call it.
Pietra confirmed they were causally seeing each other. Empty promises. Y/n found herself infatuated with the mystery girl, leading to her writing one of her songs 'Lacy' off her new album.
The song she is performing tonight at the Brits. She's beyond nervous. Not speaking to Lando before hand like she usually would isn't helping. She's on in 30 minutes and her brain is racking up all the things that could go wrong. But he's not hers to call anymore.
Pietra was there but she was engrossed in her phone, not aware of y/n’s mental termoil.
Y/n’s phone rings... Lando. She doesn't want to give in but God does she need these nerves to go.
"Hi Lan, long time no speak." She sighs out of awkwardness.
"P told me you're a surprise guest at the Brits? Why didn't you tell me? I'm so proud of you y/n/n." He cheers. She can hear the smile in his voice talking like nothing had changed, like she hadn't just released a song about how much she dreaded the idea of them together.
"I wasn't meant to tell anybody, you know."
"I'm not anybody though, y/n/n." He sounds hurt now. That's not what she meant. She just wasn't sure he cared anymore. She'd been ignoring him after she found out about his mystery girl leading them to only drift further apart. "What are you singing tonight? The song about me or..." he teases.
She's glad he gets it, she's glad he's not angry.
"Um, well. No. Well it's not the latest song if that's what's your asking?" She stutters, it's not the one he's heard, but not far fri being about him.
"Another one about me? Oh I am flattered. Can this one be a little happier this time. I wasn't all bad in our friendship."
"Oh this one is sort of about you, but not really. And it's not happy I'm sorry, I wrote it when I was a little crazy but it's too good to not release." She's rambling, he knows she's nervous whether it be about the performance about the song abour talking to him, he can sense it.
"10 minutes!" Someone yells form outside her dressing room
"Lan I've got to go. Thank you for calling. We'll speak soon?" Another empty promise.
"Y/n/n, wait. You'll smash it you know. You're amazing at what you do, everyone will love it whatever it's about."
He always knew what she needed to hear, she hated that about him. She hated that they were still so in sync. But he's with someone else, it won't work.
As she steps on stage, smoke circles around her feet. The lights so bright she can barely see the crowd, it makes it easier.
"Lacy, oh Lacy..."
The cheers were deafening, she'd never felt more acknowledged, more proud. Tears in her eyes she hugs her guitarist so tight. She's proud of herself, her hard work paying off.
She doesn't stick around for press, the alcohol she downed after her performance would throw all PR training out the window. Pietra joins her to continue the party back at her London flat.

You got the one thing that I want
Brits thank you for having me
A couple of drinks more and P makes her way home to Max, leaving Pippa alone once more. A little too drunk to control her best interests, picking up her phone. Clicking Lando. It rings and rings until,
"Y/n, it's 2am where you are! What's wrong?"
"Lan! I did it! Did you see me? Of course you didn't, but I did it! I wish you were here." Why did she say that, but she didn't care right now she wanted him to be proud of her.
"Of course I saw y/n/n. Would never miss something like that. You're so talented, unbelievably talented."
"Lando who's on the phone"
Y/n heard it, the girl she's penned as Lacy. Embarrassment flushes her already red face from the alcohol.
"I didn't realise you had company, I'll leave you to it. Im sorry." A lump forming almost instantly in her throat. The alcohol heightening her emotions, although they were very real, just never this on the surface.
"Don't be sorry. I'll sit in the living room, we haven't spoke in so long please don't hang up. Please." She can't say no, she could never say no. He has a hold on her. They both know it, it infuriates her, causing her to blurt out emotions she saved only for writing sessions never to his face.
"You broke your promise." So quiet he almost missed it.
"What promise?"
Ouch.
"You promised to wait for me. You said it'd be different. We speak less than we ever have. I'm losing you and you're losing me. It's supposed to be us Lando. Now its you two."
"You never gave me a chance, y/n/n. You never gave me a chance in our friendship nor a relationship. You got fixated that it would be bad, you pushed me away not the other way around."
"I'm scared that's why! Not because I don't want you because I'm terrified it'll ruin what we have."
"Well we don't even have that anymore."
Double ouch.
"I'm going to go. I'm sorry I shouldn't have called."
"Y/n/n- wait- I-" He stutters, he doesn't know what he wants to say, he just doesn't want her to go. The girl in his bed is a pass time, he even thinks she's aware of it. She's enjoying her 5 minutes of fame, nice holidays and dinners knowing she's a place holder for the one he can't have.
"Bye Lan"
Tears finally leave her eyes, built up from 2 years of fighting for each other to end with nothing. Why was she so scared of the one thing she wanted? She hated herself right now. She couldn't stop crying from such a high to such a low. She reached to her phone which was still pinging with messages from Lando. Switching it off the tears fell and fell staining her blush coloured pillows.
This is all wrong and she's not sure it'll ever be right.

(3rd person perspective)
PART 3 -
BUBBLEGUM
"It's sad because it just hurts. I'd do anything for you."
The week drawing to a close, a sad vibe lingered between the two of them. They cherished the moments they spent together, but with the final day approaching they both struggled to keep spirits high.
With both of their career paths, it was hard to fit into each other lives, but Lando's summer break ending and you preparing for the release for her next single, she knew contact would fall back to a minimum. They were both the most important people in one another's lives, even if they didn't speak for a year that would remain true, but bitter sweet.
The staycations would become day visits, turning to missed calls and sparse texts until their schedules aligned once more. She hated saying goodbye, she hated leaving him. She wished either of the jobs was less demanding but neither would ever give it up despite the toll it took on the two of them.
The final day was here. They agreed on day in bed as her flight was late and she couldn't be tired and miss it. The day was filled with hugs and sweet nothings, days like today is the only time she blurred the friendship line, when sober that is. Nothing too intimate, they'd never take it that far but her fingers would find their way into his curls as he's lying on her lap. Massaging any stress he has away, knowing it'll come flooding back as soon as she leaves.
"I wish you didn't have to go. Everything is easier with you here." He sighs. His head lifting up, sitting beside her so he can look in her eyes.
"You'll be fine in a week and you know it. Back to normal, you'll busy yourself with work and soon enough you'll be racing, you won't have time to give me a second thought." She smiles, she knows the first week is the hardest, but they're both cut from the same loaf, distract yourself with work and it soon enough goes. Until a hard day hits and all she needs is him.
"You're never a second thought and you know it. You're first in my life, always."
She could cry, she would never not in-front of him that's not fair on either of them. But God does she adore him. She couldn't live without him. "You're my favourite. I wish I could stay."
Silence takes over once more, nothing more needs to be said. An hour more of cuddling this way the sun has set the room dimly lit by the street lamps and the glow of the city.
"I need to make sure I've got all my stuff." She sighs shifting his head off her lap. Slithering out of bed, dragging herself to the room, her bags mainly packed but she likes to check then check again. She drags each bag to the front door, another quick glance over the now empty room making sure she hasn't forgotten anything.
Lando's now stood in the doorway once more, "I'll miss having your mess everywhere."
"It wasn't mess! It was so I was able to see what I brought with me!" She fires back, knowing he was only joking.
She falls into his arms, she has to leave now. He can't take her to the airport it's far too busy for the two of them to both arrive there. A mob at an airport is one way to piss the staff off before a flight.
She breathes in her scent once more, he kisses the top of her heard. "Don't go." He mumbled into her hair.
"That's not fair Lan, and you know it.", she looks up at him with sad eyes, their faces inches apart. His eyes dart between hers, he's leaning in.
He kisses her, she doesn't even comprehend before returning the kiss. Just like them laying together they fit. It's right. This feels right. So why is she pulling away, why is she pushing him away.
"We can't Lando, we can't do that. Please don't do that." Oh but I want to do that again, her heart says but her head is stronger.
He looks hurt and confused, "Why? y/n/n I know you feel it. Everyone says it. Come on." He grabs her hands pulling her close, not to kiss her again but to lessen the distance. He doesn't like how far she pulled away, he needs her close. Always.
"I can't do this Lando. Not now. Not when I'm leaving. I know what'll happen you'll promise me stuff and I'll promise you stuff. But we can't maintain it, not with the distance. And I'll lose you, one of us will get hurt and I'll lose you. I can't lose you." Tears appear in the corner of her eyes but she wipes them away before they can exit. Don't cry, dammit, she thinks.
Lando let's go of her hands now, running his own through his hair in frustration and upset. "You won't try? You won't even try? You'll never lose me no matter what. This could be good, so good and you won't try?" He's aware he sounds desperate, apart of him is. Having her here for almost a month has made him more aware of his feelings than even.
"We've never even discussed this Lando! You can't say all this as I'm about to leave!"
"I don't need to say it! I know you feel the same. It's us, I know how you feel. 'He's not you' that's what you said."
"I'd love it work Lan. I'd love nothing more. We can't even keep our friendship going for months, let alone a relationship. Please don't be angry at me. I need to in my life I don't want to risk losing you in case it doesn't work."
Lando knows in his soul it would work. There's nothing in the world he wouldn't do to make it work. He can't force her mind to change however.
"I disagree. But I can't force you. Im always yours. I'll always be yours, y/n/n. It's you." He pulls her in for a hug, her phone ringing in the background. The Uber having just arrived at the worst time.
He clears his throat, weak from holding back tears and frustration, "I'll bring ur bags down, I'll meet you down there, tell him to wait 5."
Y/n runs ahead, speaking to the Uber driver in her limited French as Lando loads up the boot. The driver gets in, sensing the goodbye should be private.
"Lan, I'm yours but it just won't work."
What does that mean? He wants to scream. He knows she wants him. That's why she rejects every man who's not him. She's shown no romantic interest in anyone else since they met, she hides behind the work excuse, because she wants him, she just won't give herself to him.
"I'll wait." He promises.
"You don't have to."
"Then how come I do?"
They hug for a little too long, the driver visibly getting impatient. They don't care. She kisses him, on the cheek this time, like she always does. He makes her promise to call him when she lands, she does but she knows he'll be asleep, and the drifting apart will begin again. It's only a matter of time.

Curious Time - Lando Norris
Lando Norris x Singer!reader
Multiple part series where their friendship was easy, their feelings were confusing and the distance was the hardest <3
(3rd person perspective)
PART 2 -
DON’T TELL ‘EM
“Don’t you worry ‘bout him, I gon’ work it out”
Restraunts turned to bars and bars meant drinks upon drinks.
Y/n enjoys a glass or two, she enjoyed the buzz and the heightened confidence. But girls night was never just one or two. Pietra was the only taken girl of the group which also meant men. The other girls loved the attention, as did y/n from afar but as soon as someone would approach she would shut them down.
She wasn't sure what it was in her that made her do this. She would love a boyfriend and she was extremely lonely at times. Maybe it was the gravity of her job never knowing where she would be. She always put her career first. She got this from her mother watching her struggle day and night as a single parent watching her work multiple jobs just to keep a roof over her head. This work ethic was installed in y/n, and once she started earning it was addicting. There was nothing she enjoying more than being able to repay her mum for the hard work, and to do that work came first.
It wasn't until Pietra and her became closer she really began to live life. She was so grateful for that as before her she never really felt able to have fun.
Pietras friend, Tilde squeals as she hurries over, throwing her arms around her friends shoulders. "There's someone who wants to meet you!" Grabbing her arm by force pulling her across the dance floor.
She hold her drink out as a cosmo cocktail coloured dress would simply ruin her night. She's pulled towards P and a couple guys who look not at all familiar but Pietra seemed comfortable so she felt somewhat more relaxed.
Pietra yells over the noise "These are some guys that raced with Max back in the day! Guys this is y/n” They all chorus ‘hello’.
Tilde pulls you across her placing you next to the tallest boy in the group, she whispers in your ear. "He's interested”
She's flattered but the blonde male is just not her type. She appreciates his rugby build and his slicked back blonde hair, but he wouldn't have her falling to her knees. Although her starring may have been misperceived by the man. As he asks her, "y/n would you like another drink?"
She almost protests but it would seem unusual as her glass was now empty. "Sure." She smiles, following him back through the crowd. It's a free drink after all.
He orders her a cosmo and himself some whiskey mix, she wasn't all that focused nor that interested.
"So y/n/n," the nickname catches her attention only Lando calls her that, “what do you do?" He questions, he had no ill intent but she hated those who nicknamed her without the right.
"Um it's y/n. I'm a writer of sorts." She always feels uncomfortable telling her true profession she's never sure if people's intentions if they know who she is or not.
"Not a nickname girl, I apologise. What are you doing in Monaco do you live here? Maybe we could hang out sometime if you do?"
Very forward, she thinks. "I don't live here I'm visiting a friend before he's off travelling again. I won't be here long enough to meet up I'm sorry." A polite rejection, which he takes well luckily.
"Absolutely fine. Maybe I could get your number anyway? Just incase you're ever back not visiting your friend?" He's optimistic a smile adorning his face.
Ive kicked him down a few times now, so she gives him her phone, looking across the floor to see Pietra looking for her.
'Peter' followed by the muscle emojis. She laughs in her head, humble she thinks.
"Well Peter, it was nice meeting you. I think I best get my friend home now." She smiles as P has staggered towards her yelling loving words in her ears. Y/n is the worlds bestest friend, apparently.
Please pick me up. P is off her face, could we stop at the hotel? No Uber will take her in this state xxxxxx
I'll need an address to do that.
*Location sent*
On my way, 10 minutes maximum.
Lando could tell she was intoxicated by the influx of kisses at the end of her messages. He hoped not too much that she could still help him get Pietra into the car.
He pulled up outside the bar, P hung over y/n’s shoulder both of their heels laced over her fingers. Both girls wobbling at the weight of each other.
"Y/n/n can you walk?" He questions walking over to the girls.
Her eyebrows raise, "of course I can walk, been walking for 23 years." She slurs slightly, that final cosmo catching up to her.
"You know what I mean." He slides an arm under Pietra, the evidently more intoxicated of the two, y/n stumbling ever so slightly behind.
Pietra placed in the back a bag over her lap just in case. Y/n slides into the front, Lando leaves no time wasted as he sets off.
"Message Max, tell him we'll be 15, in the nicest way possible i can't hang around I've got an early morning." Lando states, clearly tired, rubbing his eyes as they reach traffic lights.
Y/n feels guilty forcing him out of bed at this hour, but even if she cancelled her lift he'd still turn up before any Uber did. She grabs the charger before messaging Max her phone automatically connecting to the screen play.
As she's messaging him, a ding chimes through the car.
Peter đŸ’ȘđŸœđŸ’ȘđŸœ
Y/n, lovely to meet you let me know when you're back in Monaco without your friend.
She knows he's read it, he doesn't say anything. His face unreadable.
"I've messaged Max, he's waiting outside"
They pull up outside the hotel, giggling softly in her seat watching her friend whine and complain to him instead of them. As Max and Pietra walk away Lando shouts “good luck!” out the car window before pulling away.
The air is strange in the car, not awkward, just not them. Y/n decides this is the best time to shuffle her party playlist, "Dont tell 'em' by Jeremiah blast through the sound system.
"Y/n," Lando questions, "Seriously?" His hand darting forward to turn it down. She grabs his ring clad hand pulling it into her using it as a microphone. A small smile creeps onto his face as he shakes his head.
"For a good singer your talent is really shining through right now." He smirks as she yells the lyrics into his hand. The song draws to and end in perfect timing as Lando backs into the garage.
He follows a stumbling y/n up the stairs, to which she makes a b-line for his bedroom instead of the spare room she had made her own. She sits on the end of the bed a pout on her face as lando hasn't yet joined her.
He comes in with water and paracetamol, to which she'll probably need in the morning. "Staying in here tonight then?" He questions all ready knowing the answer. He slips off the t shirt he's wearing throwing it in her lap before she even asks.
She slips off her dress, forgetting his in the room and asking him to turn around like she usually does. He looks away quickly, not before catching a glimpse of her nearly bare body.
Her legs the only thing on show now as she's slipped into his tee. She pads on to his en-suite where a small draw of her things resides, not being motivated or sober enough for her usual routine, she opts for make up wipes, to which her skin won't thank her for in the morning.
Lando already in bed curled up on his side, pats the space next to him. She instantly takes little spoon position. They don't fall asleep together often, another unspoken boundary between the two, but when they do, God did they fit together perfectly.
She inhales, partially out of contentment partially due to Lando's scent lingering on the t shirt she's sporting.
It's silent between the two, their breathing both becoming more and more shallow as they drift off. Y/n almost fully asleep now head Lando clear his throat, "Who is Peter?" He questions quietly, she almost wasn't sure she heard him right. To which she drunkenly replies,
"He's not you."

Curious Time - Lando Norris

Multiple part series where their friendship was easy, their feelings were confusing and the distance was the hardest <3

PART 1 -
INVISIBLE STRING
"All along there was some invisible string, tying you to me."
She met Pietra at a social event for rising stars and hit it off, the two of them had been completely joined at the hip from the moment they met. Until she met her now boyfriend Max, she was unbelievably happy for her when she found the love of her life, but as they grew closer, she felt as if she were vacant in her life for the first time since they met. That was until she introduced her to her boyfriends best friend Lando.
There was no one in the world like Lando, his child like energy she adored but also deeply admired his ability to switch to serious as soon as shrugged on his race suit. His passion for the sport was beautiful.
He admired her equally as much, she wasn't on the level of notoriety he was but her love for producing and singing was something he was envious of. She was one of the main reasons Lando dabbled in a short live career of DJing, spending countless days with her in the studio sparked the side hobby for him. However short winded it was he loved watching her craft and collaborating with her on his sometimes questionable beats.
Lando loved that she wasn't afraid of sharing her opinion with him either, jokingly jibing him suggesting that he should stick to the day job when another screech comes from his MacBook. In a career which can lead you to be surrounded by 'yes men' lando was grateful for her, she really was a breathe of fresh air to him in their nearly two years of friendship.
But that's all it was. A friendship. There had been a few drunk nights when he'd picked y/n up from parties with some work colleagues, a little too drunk and a little too lonely where their hands would wander a little too close as he guides her to his room. A cuddle in his super soft bed, his lips lingering on her shoulders as his large tee hangs off her frame. But nothing more. It was an unspoken rule between the two of them.
It was an extremely spoken about rule between y/n and her best friend however.
"Staying at the boyfriends still, I see" Pietra giggles over the phone. Her friends phone propped up against some random parcel on Landos desk, your make up scattered around infront of her. "Didn't fancy a hotel, no?"
"Haha, your jokes are hilarious as usual." y/n mocks, despite the laugh her face deadpanned.
"And no. 1. He's my best friend who I haven't seen in about 2 months and 2. Shut up he is here he might hear you." She lists, flicking mascara onto her falsies blending the two together.
"You worry too much, we say the exact same things to him."
Gliding the last coat of gloss over her lips she mumbles, "What time is the car coming to yours so I know what time to get my chauffeur out of bed?"
Despite the extra rooms at Lando's, Max and P decided to stay in a hotel not too far away. After all they are the ones in the actual relationship and need the privacy.
"Be here for 8, cars coming at 8:30 and we're meeting the girls at 9. I need to get a move on! Love you see you in an hour." She rambled not giving her enough time to reply as she's already hung up the phone.
Y/n had been at Lando's for nearly 2 weeks now glued to one another side in the days he's not keeping up with training or interviews for podcasts. She thought tonight she'd give him a couple hours to himself, get out of his and spend the evening with a couple of the girls.
Before waking him up she wanders over to one of his spare rooms which is now filled with her suitcases. Y/n was a notorious over-packer but she liked to be prepared for every possible scenario that she could ever face.
She opens one of the suitcases designated for going out wear and pulls out the two options folded on the top. Holding up both options, one a halter neck black mini dress and one a simple white maxi bandeau dress.
"The white one." A gruff voice appears from behind her. Her eyes widen but body staying still not letting him aware he'd startled her
She spins to see Lando shirtless, using both arms to hold him up against the door frame. His tanned muscles popping as he slightly swings too and throw.
"Ok Mr fashionista and why the white one?" Lando always gives advice on her outfits, but it's normally out of mockery telling her to cover up, jokingly normally followed with a suggestion of one of his papaya coloured hoodies.
"You've tanned nicely since being here. I just think the white is better for the summer." He states before leaving the room not allowing her to reply.
Since being here there had been a few more subtle compliments from him, which was rare between the two of them. Their friendship was filled with mockery and lightheartedness. His compliments or simple acknowledgments always take her slightly off guard, but she's aware there's no meaning behind them. He probably hadn't even thought twice about any of the things he'd said.
Slipping into the white dress as he'd suggested. She glanced in the mirror he'd brought into this make shift dressing room he'd allow you to take over. He was right. Her tan from being in the sun over here was complimented by the light material.
Despite it being the evening it was still humid, so she threw her hair into an intentionally messy claw clip and slipped on some strappy heels before joining lando in the living room now clad in a white t shirt and his favourite blue quadrant shorts.
He glances over at her, a smile adorning his lips as a subtle yet cocky acknowledgement that she'd listened to his choice.
"Our last week together and you're wasting it on the girls" he mocks a protein shake in his hand, making her assume he'd hit the gym with max after he'd dropped her off.
"I didn't think you'd care all that much. You've been sleeping the whole day!" Y/n joked. "I feel like I need to get out your hair even for a few hours. You've done so much for me over the past week, I can at least repay you by giving you a bit of peace!"
He glances at his phone, 7:50pm, "We should get going, can't have you being late to your girls night" his hands raise and mock a jazz hands motion as he says girls night.
With a roll of her eyes she follows him to his car, letting her pick which of his many she wanted to be taken in tonight. Always opting for his Lamborghini Aventador. As beautiful as his McLarens were the pair had both learnt that the orange wrap drew even more attention to the driver than his oh so simple Lambo.
Opening the door for her, she slide in sideways to low seats. The engine revs as he presses start, and gentle songs fill the car. One of her songs to be exact, her latest single, invisible string. Written with both Pietra and Lando in mind, the two most important people in her life. Pietra was aware and brought to tears when she found out she was dedicated this song. Lando was blissfully unaware that he was in mind as she put pen to paper.
"Liking the new single, huh?" She mocks nudging him gently with her elbow.
"I like everything you make. Your art is one of my favourite things about you" he says nonchalantly, looking past her to check for oncoming cars as he turn out of the road.
And there it is again a compliment she was far from expecting. Usually it'd be something along the lines of "it was getting no listens I was just pitying you" or "I usually skip this one".
She smiles, "thank you." Is all she can muster up as she plays with her nails in her lap. Y/n hates that simple recognition from him makes her feel this way.
They're nearing the hotel, grabbing her bag from the footwell. "Am I picking you up from here or straight from the restaurant?" He questions pulling the car to a halt outside the front of the hotel.
"From here please, I don't know if it's just dinner or P will peer pressure us going for more drinks."
Lando exhales from amusement knowing she would never say know to a party with Pietra.
"Ok y/n/n, just let me know. I'll be waiting."
She leans over to kiss him on the cheek, like the two always do before they depart. However his face also turns to do the same, leaving their lips brushing ever so quickly over one another before they both pull away, red flushing to the two of their faces.
"Anyway!" Her voice uneven and a little too loud, slightly echoing in the car.
"Thank you Lan, I'll message you later!" She hurries out the car exciting the tense air she'd just created. She leans in giving him one last awkward smile.
"Bye, you look beautiful, y/n/n." She heard as she slams the door shut.
Beautiful.
No, she thought. She must've imagined that.
Max meets her in the lobby, trailing behind as he rushes her to their room. Saying that P has some urgent hair related emergency.
Two cancellations of cars later, Pietras meltdown had finally been fixed and the pair were out the door.
"Let's get drunk!" She calls as she shuffles into the car.
Defiantly going to be a late one.
