do revenge spoilers but i need to talk about this bc it wont leave my mind
simply cannot stop thinking about how eleanor wanted to hate drea so much. she did hate drea so much, and rightfully so. and we can see that channeling that anger was cathartic for her, but we also see the downfall of it. post-car crash, there’s a shift in eleanor as she’s staring into the mirror, and the montage of her and drea plays.
she doesn’t want to like drea, she wants to keep hating her. but fuck, drea opened up to her so quickly, telling her that they were the same. they have the same anger. drea didn’t know how accurate that was at the time, doesn’t know the look on eleanor’s face as she realizes that she’s becoming what she thought she was out to destroy.
that whole thing about how hate isn’t the opposite of love, indifference is? yeah. eleanor’s obssessed with drea, she’s been obsessed with her for five years. and to finally get close to her and realize how they’re two sides of the same coin, twin flames, etc etc, is as terrifying as it is comforting.
even though their friendship was all part of eleanor’s plan, they had such genuine moments of joy and vulnerability and as all that is played over again in eleanor’s head, she realizes that she might have just fucked it all up. she thinks drea will never forgive her for what she did. that’s why she keeps going with her plan, i don’t think she really wants to at this point.
that moment in the mirror as she smears her lipstick away, she’s messing up that perfectly crafted image she’s kept up in an act of defeat, while also fully committing to her #jokerarc because what other choice does she have? she started it, might as well finish it now since there’s no way in hell the one person she misses most would come back to her.
except, drea does. because they’re fucked up soulmates.

i know i'm a man so i can't fully speak on this issue, but i think the reason wlw shows keep failing is because of how men and straight women treat them. straight men often only care about lesbians/sapphics when it's for their pleasure. and honestly, even a lot of queer men don't even seem to care about wlw shows. same with straight women.
these streaming services are money hungry (which is a whole 'nother problem) so unless these groups of people start to care about media that doesn't exactly represent them or is 'for' them, these cancellations and lack of representation won't stop

uhhhhh. hi take some post-experiment headcanons for the wilds girls .^.
they have a groupchat where the title never stays the same, they are constantly changing what its called and the pfp. they usually have nothing to do with each other.
they all live in random places across the country but they’re always travelling and staying at each others apartments/houses to the point they still wear each others clothes because they always take clothes to leave
shelby and toni move to nyc where toni plays for the new york liberty wnba team and shelby is a musical artist who does lots of charity for queer youth foundations. they are quite the famous couple
dottie ends up doing a lot of travelling, more than she expected to be doing. but when they leave the island she realises that shes only ever lived in texas and she really just wants to see the world, so she does.
fatin and leah move to seattle, they’re a lot more lowkey then the others, surprisingly, but they wanted a simple life out of the fame. doesnt mean they dont have a fucking awesome beach-house in los angelos though.
martha moves to a place in pretty much the middle of no-where, she becomes a veterinarian who goes out and hunts a lot. ironic, but she doesnt kill what she wont eat
nora moves to somewhere quiet, she becomes a science professor who teaches brain science. inspired by the experiment, she wanted to get to the route of where gretchen originally was coming from
rachel does become a carpenter. after she talked with leah, she realised that being a carpenter seemed really true to her. so she runs her own carpentry business somewhere more progressive.
before they really started their lives they actually lived together for a few years, and god do they miss it sometimes. they didnt really have their own rooms either, most of the time if they werent all dogpiled on the living room floor, they were squished into shelby and toni’s bed.
fatin and shelby had sleepovers where they talk about their girlfriends and painted eachothers nails and would always drag dot into it somehow
theyre all super affectionate with each other, to the point no one outside of them knows whos dating who. and they find it really funny
