Ingrained habits/forces of habit?
Maybe it's because I haven't RPed any of my OCs in SO LONG, but I can't exactly thing of any BIG ONES.
Starling always curls up with a hot drink and a book on rainy days.
Sly rubs at the scars on her ears when she's agitated.
Sly vanishes to go off hunting when in a bad mood. That or she gardens.
Dajia is a clean freak for a Chua. Obsessive hand washing after 'educating' heretics and outfit changes. Ijio rubbed off on them.

I had this in my drafts. I don’t know how old it is, but here you go world. I think this was written before Wildstar was slated to be shut down.
Source : I really like these questions so I'm gonna answer these for Sly for funsies. This is gonna be long
Character Creation Questions - Saranyu 'Sly' Shadeleaf
1: Origins! How did you come up with the concept for your OC?
Wildstar footage released, I fell in love with the Aurin race and wanted to make a character removed from my last main RP character, which was a Draenei Death Knight named Nix'rael. She was all strength, drinking, smashing things, picking fights, and going on ADVENTURES.
So I made a little shit inspired by Locke Lamora from the Gentleman Bastard's series. Someone who used words over brute force and who was all about agility over strength. I went with green hair/fur as green is my FAV color and oddly enough, I had never used it in a design until Sly. Also wanted to contrast with my WoW characters who more often than not ended up with purple/blue color schemes.
2: Were they originally well received by the fandom? Or if they’re fandomless, did the RP community take to them right away or was it hard to get attention?
Well received as the first thread I played her in resulted in a lifelong friend/business partner for Sly along with other ties that led to good rp and a heaping fuckton of drama.
3: Has your OC gone through different incarnations during their stay on Tumblr? Were they reimagined or have they stayed the same all this time?
Sly has always been Sly and hasn't changed in Wildstar or for my Tumblr blog. I've made some AU versions of her. She was RPed as a Jaeger pilot in a forum rp, but that version deviated too much. I made an AU version of her in TSW that I briefly RPed, but that's another dead AU. Private AUs as well, but Sly will remain an Aurin in the Wildstar-verse and has been for...what? Five years now?
(and then I made my own species for Sly. I even made a RP blog for that version.)
4: How do you get into your OC’s mindset to write for them? How do you find the muse for them?
Uh. I don't really do anything to get into the mindset of a character? Not much of a method actor.
(I’m super confident now, just like Sly lololol)
5: Were you nervous about putting your OC out there? How long did it take before you decided to play your OC here on Tumblr.
Tumblr happened because I found out people RPed on Tumblr. I'd seen character blogs before and wanted to give it a shot. Dove right in and had a blast sending out and getting asks. ...When I first started this blog I wanted to be one of those cool people who did doodle responses to all the asks, but that died off quick.
(I miss Tumblr RP, can you tell?)
IC Interaction Questions
6: What is your OC’s family situation? Do they get along? Do they fight? Or are they alone?
Sly got along mostly well with her family. Some tension between her eldest sister and herself because Sly wasn't as devout as she could have been with the Weave, but nothing drastic.
7: What does your OC look for in a friend? Do they value friendship a lot?
Trustworthiness and a lack of caring for laws are two prime things. As Sly can't have a friend who would rat her out to the Judges first chance they get.
8: What does your OC look for in a significant other? Are they looking at all?
Perseverance, really. Are they a survivor? Sly never really has looked for a mate, they just sorta happen. Crushes were always on a whim from me on what I'd find amusing and the actual relationships were more organic things.
(Sly and Absinthe are a thing now BECAUSE I SAY SO)
9: What is your OC like when at work? Are they diligent? Slacker? Do they get along with their co-workers?
Very focused, serious and a sadist. Boss Sly is a monster, basically and her underlings rightly are ill at ease with her. Which makes Sly with the boss persona off all the more jarring for those characters who deal with both, I suppose.
10: How do they deal with strangers?
A stranger is potential. Potential client. Potential mark. Potential source of information or services. They're a possibility.
Inside the Muse’s Mind Questions
11: Is there a place they go to in order to escape the world, the stresses of life? What’s their favourite place?
For casual escapes, Sly climbs high up into her tree on her house plot. Longer excursions have Sly wandering to Wilderrun where she goes hunting and pretends like she's back on Arboria.

Dajia freezes up, ears standing straight up before cocking its head. The Chua rubs a hand under its chin, chittering in contemplation before speaking slowly. "Papa Moro." It closes its eyes, nodding as the Chua's ears relax. "Strange parent, but helped Dajia become this Chua today."
Dajia blinks its eyes open with teeth clicking. "Not elaborating."

A few more random prompts incoming! First: Scars or painful spots?
"Oh," Starling gives a wane smile as she glances down. "I have a few odd scars here and there. I have some odd marks on my knees where I fell on pavement as a child and scraped them raw. I cried all the way home as our Mechari servant carried me."
She pauses at the follow up, "Painful spots?" The Cassian woman shifts as she wraps arms just over her ample chest as her blue gaze drops down for a brief moment. She straightens, becoming aware at how her hunched posture makes her soft stomach all the more pronounced. "N-no, no sore spots on my body."

Personally, I feel like criminal types and bag guy characters are more fun in general when they have certain lines they refuse to cross or blatant weaknesses to exploit. At the very least, they've gotta have their own moral code they follow else they're just evil to be evil and that's boring.
Sly is all about community and family. Her family just so happens to be a crime family.
Dajia views the Dominion as driven by manifest destiny and all that jazz. It's bringing the good word to heretics on the promised land of Nexus.
Echo is bringing order to the universe through the Dominion. Sweetling is doing her job and keeping her head down. She's gotta make a buck and survive. Null Value is- Well, okay. She's programmed like that...

What is your character’s most important possession? Why?
Sly has her tail ring from Arboria stashed in a hand carved wooden box under her bed. She stopped wearing the tail ring once joining the Exiles and Boss Mesa's crew.
When it's her birthday or a special day related to the Shadeleaf family, or when she's feeling sentimental, Sly will take it out and just stroke the carvings on it or stare at it.
She never wears it anymore as it has her birth name carved into it and can be obviously used to identify her. Sly doesn't want her current persona associated with who she was on Arboria.

Sly's smile is fixed and full of fangs. "Oh sweetie...", She cocks her head. "Does it still count as a crime if you're never caught?"
Drug manufacturing. Drug trafficking. Money Laundering. Assault and battery. Kidnapping. Extortion. Criminal threats. Treason. Pre-meditated murder. I mean- She is a Drug Lord.
There really isn't a crime Sly isn't willing to commit to hold on to her territory and keep her Greys safe. The only real rules are don't do it where you can be observed, don't be tray your own, and don't involve children.

Iced Cafe mocha: Whats your favorite thing to do on rainy days?
As the rain beats against the stain-glass windows of the Vigilant Sanctuary, Dajia's ears perk. The Chua gives a nervous twitch, heat snapping to survey the empty halls as it pads down them. Its ears turn this way and that, listening for any sign of those few lost souls that were current residence.
There was the soft murmur of voices from the upper levels, but the main sanctuary remains empty.
Dajia sighs, nose giving a wiggle as it makes its way towards the nave of the main congregation sanctuary. Within, statues of the holy Eldan stand silently and observe as the Chua approaches the alter.
Dajia had never been one for rain. There had been too many times where it had been tossed out on its ear in Bezgalore, told to go 'play' with its litter mates to give Mama Nani a break and there had been no Papa Moro to usher any of them back in out of the wet.
To this day, Dajia despises the damp in its fur and the sound. An endless beating, but within the Sanctuary?
It's a distant thrum. The sound feels like the quiet hum of the Eldan. A soothing stroke over its ears to calm away those old, rotten memories.
Dajia drops to its knees in front of the alter, head bowing as its ears perk up to hear that quiet hum all the better.
The Chua releases a slow breath, then prays.

What is their weapon of choice, and what weapon do they dislike using the most? (For Sly because I don't remember offhand)
"You want me to say my Stalker claws, yeah?" Sly smiles, teeth flashing a moment as she holds up a hand to twist it. The sheathed techno-claw brace there over her wrists and upper hand flashes with a polished gleam. "Kanko certainly would want me to say that, since he made them 'n all."
The Aurin shrugs, tail giving a flicker. "But I prefer a classic Arborian bow and arrow. The Wilderun beasts never know what hit 'em."
"Now for my least favorite?" Her ears twist back and down as Sly frowns. "The cannons Engineers use. Too fucking loud."

Sly grew a taste for frilly lingerie at some point after landing on Nexus, despite not actually having anyone to wear it for.Shoved far back in her panty drawer is an extra frilly neon blue pair of panties with lace spreading out to mimic a butterfly. They’re also crotchless. That part Sly didn’t notice until she put them on later.

Where: Cammor Waste Community, Sly One’s plot inside the Osun Tower
It’s business as usual at The Last Mistake beyond opening Monday night for a special half off on all drinks, including Contagion Shots! Come dance, drink, and while the night away in the coolest spot in all of Malgrave.
Beyond the bar, there is restaurant style seating where one can snag a Lou Burger or other treats, the arcade downstairs, and the glass dance floor upstairs.
The bar itself is nestled within an Osun tower on neutral ground, so all ar welcome! Tonight there won’t even be an up-pricing for Dominion orders~!
