Okay I have some very interesting takes on this, because I do not personally believe morality is definable, let alone by God (in the philosophical and abrahamic sense), merely from very simple arguments such as the euphyphro dilemma and the incompatibility of God’s omniscience and human free will. However, societally, if a fear of consequence (going to hell after committing sin) keeps people from evil action, then surely that is preferable to a society where people are immoral out of indirection?
