There are forced death encounters in over half of fromsoft games though...

The first boss in Sekiro, demons souls, Elden Ring ... Seath the scaleless in dark souls... Also fromsoft games are not actually hard if you use all the tools the devs provide. Use magic, use summons, upgrade your weapons and armor.. the meme of difficulty comes from a large portion of the fan base intentionally limiting their options and trying to shame anyone that doesn't play "their way". Yeah Pokemon can be a hard game too if you limit yourself to only Weedle! Cute comic though :)
