First, it is important that we have clarity as to what a DTS is.

The DTS is a Discipleship and missionary Training School.

This consists of a theoretical phase (3 months), in which you learn with teachers from different cultures and you also go deeper in knowing more about God; then comes the practical phase (2 or 3 months in El Salvador and / or another country), and in this period you use everything you have learned and make God known.

So, you have found yourself here, reading a blog about why you should do a DTS.

I suppose that like us, you are looking for something more, and that you have felt that burden in your heart... (the gentle sigh of God telling you that He has something else for your life).

You've probably even wondered if that's possible.

Is it really possible that God has exciting and incredible things prepared for your life?, Could it be?

Those dreams that have remained in your heart, you know what I'm talking about.

Could it be that God really knows you and even wants to give you new and better dreams?

Could it be that this adventure and the purpose you have been trying to obtain are achievable?

YES. IT'S POSSIBLE.

A life of fullness and joy is possible... But it is also a life of sacrifice and obedience.

It is not possible to have one thing without the other, but do not worry, You always receive more than what you give.

Remember that the Bible says: "He who finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses it for my sake will find it" (Matthew 10:39).

Do you understand?, Only when you lose your life is when you will find it.

And, if that is not enough for you, then here we have seven more reasons. (these have been people who already made a DTS and they share what they consider a reason for you to do it also).

En primer lugar, es importante que tengamos claridad en cuanto a qué es una EDEM.

La EDEM es una Escuela de Discipulado y Entrenamiento Misionero.

Esta consiste de una fase teórica (3 meses), en la que aprendes con maestros de diferentes culturas y profundizas en cuanto a conocer más a Dios; luego viene la fase práctica (2 o 3 meses en El Salvador y/u otro país), y en este periodo utilizas todo lo que has aprendido y das a conocer a Dios.

Entonces, te has encontrado aquí, leyendo un blog sobre porque deberías hacer una EDEM.

Yo supongo que al igual que nosotros, tú estas buscando algo más, y que has sentido esa carga en tu corazón… (el gentil suspiro de Dios diciéndote que tiene algo más para tu vida).

Probablemente hasta te has preguntado si eso es posible.

¿Es realmente posible que Dios tenga emocionantes e increíbles cosas preparadas para tu vida?, ¿podría ser?

Esos sueños que han permanecido en tu corazón, tú sabes de cuales estoy hablando.

¿Podría ser que Dios realmente los conoce y desea incluso darte nuevos y mejores sueños?

¿podría ser que esa aventura y el propósito que has estado intentando obtener, sean alcanzables?

SI. ES POSIBLE.

Una vida de plenitud y gozo es posible… Pero también es una vida de sacrificios y de obediencia.

No es posible tener una cosa sin la otra, pero no te preocupes… Siempre recibes más de lo que das.

Recuerda que la Biblia dice: “El que halla su vida, la perderá, y el que la pierda por mi causa, la encontrará.” (Mateo 10:39) 

¿Entiendes?, Solo al perder tu vida vas a encontrarla.

Y, si eso no es razón suficiente para ti, entonces aquí tenemos siete razones más (estas han sido personas que ya hicieron una EDEM y te comparten lo que consideran una razón para tu también la hagas).

1. En la EDEM recibes restauración y sanidad interior. Aprendes a amarte a ti mismo. -Melvin, El Salvador

5. Toda la EDEM se resume en una palabra: AVENTURA. Conoces nuevas culturas, tu relación con Dios se vuelve más profunda, ríes, lloras, cantas, bailas, haces nuevos amigos, descubres talentos… ahhh y también haces muchas tareas. -Kourtney, Canadá

6. Es un tiempo en el que Dios trabaja en tu vida de una manera milagrosa. Es una luna de miel con Dios. -Pauline, Sudáfrica

Over the last few years God has really been growing and expanding our base, here in San Salvador.  One example of that growth is two of our staff members being invited to teach in two different bases in Central America in the coming weeks.  This week, David and Kourtney Guasca are teaching in the DTS of Diriamba, Nicaragua on Inner Healing and next week will be teaching in the DTS in San Jose, Costa Rica. These are just a few of the faces that we are hoping to put a smile on during our vacation bible school this year in Gerardo Barrios. We are seeking sponsors to partner with us for this very special time. Each year, we teach a different theme to the kids. There is a time of intercession, worship, lesson and crafts. We put a lot of effort into each and every detail. Even making sure that each kid gets a refreshment every day. To further aid the community, we support local food vendors, to buy all of our refreshment and drinks. In addition, each child is given Christmas presents. But we don’t just give them any present, we love to spoil each of them with things that they really will love and cherish. For many of them, this is the only Christmas present they will receive. Our goal is to raise $15 per child. If you’re interested in donating to this project please let us know and thank you for patterning with us. Estas son algunas de las caras que esperamos que pongan una sonrisa en tu cara durante nuestra semana de escuela bíblica durante las vacaciones en Gerardo Barrios. Hay un tiempo para tener intercesión, alabanza, lección y manualidades. Ponemos mucho esfuerzo hacia cada uno de ellos y tambien a los pequeños detalles. Incluso a tener un repaso de lo que se ha aprendido. Aparte de eso, buscamos apoyar a los vendedores de la comunidad al obtener los refrescos y bebidas de ellos. Pero no solo les damos cualquier regalo, amamos darles muchas cosas que sabemos que realmente amaran y disfrutaran ya que para muchos de ellos, este es el único regalo de navidad que van a recibir.
