Y: Good morning everyone, and welcome to another segment of our Stellar Lunar analysis!
A: As I’m sure you can tell, this was not scheduled, but some of you reached out to ask for help on a latent theme analysis of chapter 7.
Y: Wow, your intros have gotten so much better! Didn’t think you had it in you~
A: …thanks. I guess.
Y: Alright, enough chit chat let’s get to it!
A: *unintelligible noise*
A: Please, please, please tell me you don’t actually believe that…
Y: And why wouldn’t I? You can’t take everything she says at face value!
A: Yes, you can. Not everything has a deeper meaning.
Y: And I would agree, but in this instance our narrator has been proved time and time again to be completely unreliable because of her mental state. The whole point of this is that we absolutely can’t trust everything she says.
A: I guess I… didn’t consider that. So with that being said, what do you think she meant by her statement?
Y: Oh my god… is the Alhaitham agreeing with me AND asking me a question, all in the same sentence?! I think I’ve seen it all!
A: Technically it was two sentences.
Y: Ugh, way to ruin the moment.
A: But you-
Y: One of these days we’re going to have to agree on something!
A: As soon as you start making sensible points we will.
Y: What makes you right? Our classmates love my point of view!
A: …
Y: Whatever.
A: Anyways, hopefully I’ll rub off on you so you can look at this logically.
Y: None of this book is logical though! That’s like- the entire point! And the seventh chapter is the most convoluted and non-straightforward part!
A: You’ve… read the whole book?
Y: You haven’t?
A: Of course I have.
Y: We’ll talk about the ending later.
A: Agreed.
A: I think I might strangle you.
Y: Cut.
A: What?
Y: Cut the cameras. Deadass.
A: Can’t win the debate so now you have to fight me?
Y: For your information, I’d win both, no questions asked!
A: Oh yeah?
And the next thing you know, Alhaitham is towering over you, haughty eyes looking down on you. Only slightly daunted, you stood up to meet his glare.
It was quiet in the room, the only sound being his quiet breathing and the ticking clock. “This isn’t a fight you can win,” Alhaitham grinned, but it was less mocking than you expected.
In fact, his narrowed eyes danced with mirth, taking you by surprise. “Oh please, I could take a nerd like you down any day,” you huffed, hands on your hips. Alhaitham snorted out a laugh as he stepped closer, and now you were chest to chest. “I’d like to see you try.”
Your frown deepened at his taunt. “You’re insufferable sometimes, Alhaitham,” you bit out. There had been an odd tension that had been present the whole recording, and now it was reaching its peak.
Chest to chest, nose to nose, he was insufferable to you, but you couldn’t get enough of your back and forth with him, couldn’t get enough of him. And maybe it was just the lingering heightened emotions from your near arguments, but you couldn’t help but want to be closer still.
It might’ve been wishful thinking, but from the way he was staring, you couldn’t help but wonder if he felt the same way. “God, you talk too much,” He hissed.
But before you could make a retort, his lips were pressed feverishly to yours. Your noise of surprise was muffled by his lips as he pressed your body closer to his.
It felt as though a haze was clouding your mind and stealing your judgment, but you couldn’t stop your arms from curling themselves around his neck.
He was intoxicating, and you were falling deep. The way his lips moved against yours was a mix of precision and passion that pulled you further into him.
His hand carefully cradled your jaw, allowing him to deepen the kiss more than you thought possible. You needed to breathe, and thought he would too, but Alhaitham seemed wholly content to only breathe you in, showing no signs of stopping.
You had to force yourself to pull away, but you couldn’t find yourself regretting it when you saw his expression. Eyes half lidded, lips swollen, and cheeks dusted pink… it was not something you could’ve ever imagined seeing on Alhaitham’s face, but the last thing you were doing was complaining.
“What was that?” You mumbled, unable to escape his gaze. And just like that, his infuriating smirk was back in full force. “I told you; you talk too much.”
You groaned, flicking his forehead. “Shut up. Anyways, we definitely have to cut that part out,” You sighed, but you weren’t at all displeased, and it was obvious that Alhaitham knew it too.
“Why? I think it adds to the argument,” He shrugged.
A: With all of that being said, I hope this was as productive for all of you as it was for me.
Y: Wait, what’s that supposed to mean?
A: I think you know, yn.
Y: I-?!
A: Anyways, if you have anymore questions reach out to either Professor Lisa or us. Anything to add, yn?
Y: H-huh?
A: Tch. You were complaining about my intros when it’s really your outros that are the problem…
Y: Hey-!

❏ 𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐈 𝐒𝐄𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐎
waking up in a cold sweat, while something you weren’t unaccustomed to, was making it impossible to get any rest. nightmares plagued your sleep when you were stressed, and you had more than enough to go around at the moment.
seishiro was a heavy sleeper, especially during the night, so when you went to the bathroom to splash your face with cold water, you weren’t worried about waking him.
despite being awake, the grotesque images your mind had conjured tormented you. you held back tears, not wanting a headache and puffy eyes in the morning, but it was hard. you were so, so tired, but you couldn’t imagine being able to sleep after such a vivid dream.
“angel…? know what time it is?” a low voice drawled, startling you out of your spiraling thoughts. “sei? i didn’t mean to wake you,” you mumbled, turning to face your boyfriend.
seishiro only shrugged before ambling closer to you, his arms stretched towards you. “nightmare? c’mere, pretty,” he whispered, pulling you gently into his embrace.
tears you had been desperately holding back streamed down your face as you allowed your lover to carefully maneuver back into bed with him.
“it was awful, sei,” you cried, not hesitating to bury your tear streaked face into his chest. you felt the low rumble of his sigh as he ran a soothing hand down the length of your spine.
“bet it was, angel… how about we talk about your annoying coworkers instead?” you couldn’t help but crack a smile at that. if there was anything that could take your mind off of a nightmare, it was recounting all the wild stories about your coworkers to a veteran shit talker like seishiro.
carefully, seishiro moved you so that you were laying fully onto his chest as you spoke. “okay, so you wouldn’t believe what yumeko said about…”
and it wasn’t long before yawns began to punctuate your words and your pauses became a little longer with each one you had.
seishiro never stopped the soothing hand that rubbed up and down your back, and in no time you were fading, your nightmare far from your mind. “night, angel,” he cooed into your temple.
“you owe me for this,” the soccer player added after a glance at the clock.
❏ 𝐈𝐓𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈 𝐒𝐀𝐄
baseless thoughts swam around your mind as you mindlessly stared at the steaming tea in your mug. since your head had hit the pillow hours prior, your mind hadn’t slowed down a bit, leaving you restless and unable to sleep.
in an effort to both avoid waking sae up with your tossing and turning and to tire yourself out, you’d made yourself comfortable in the dining room with a cup of tea.
it had already been thirty minutes, however, and you weren’t feeling much more tired than you had before you’d left the bed.
“so this is where you went.” you whipped at the words spoken through a heavy yawn. your boyfriend leaned against the table beside you, his eyebrow raised to broadcast his displeasure.
“i didn’t wake you, did i?” you mumbled awkwardly. “no, but i woke up and you weren’t there. only to discover that you left me for… tea,” sae deadpanned.
you smiled sheepishly but leaned against his torso, your tense form relaxing when his hand immediately wrapped around your shoulders. “i couldn’t sleep, so i thought tea would help, but…” you trailed off, gesturing helplessly to the clock on your wall.
you heard your boyfriend click his tongue and then he was all but manhandling you into his arms. “you should’ve just woken me up. could’ve you given you a sleep aid or talked you to sleep,” he chided, but his obvious concern took the bite out of his words.
you didn’t bother protesting as he gently shoved you back into bed before climbing in beside you. “thanks, sae, i know you have practice tomorrow,” you whispered guiltily.
“tired or not, none of those idiots could catch up to me. if anything, they need the extra time,” he replied casually, pulling a small laugh from you.
“one of these days, i’ll teach you humility,” you laugh, snuggling in closer to him. you could almost hear sae’s smirk as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“you have to get sleep for that first, mi corazón,” he teased through a yawn. warmth spread through your cheeks as you hummed in response. “can you tell me a story then?” you grin innocently.
“what do you think this is?”
“a demonstration of true love and concern?”
“do you even know me?”
“i’m never going to your games again.”

𝐕𝐈𝐈. 𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐇𝐔𝐁𝐁𝐈𝐄
Yesterday had been a day of consistent… well inconsistencies for you. Ayato texting you? 0/10, never happens and for good reason. Letting it ruin your day, however? -10/10, absolutely awful, humiliating, mortifying- Meeting a (cute) stranger and actually taking a liking to him? Breaks the scale.
And as much as you wanted to kick yourself for it, you couldn’t help but admit that he was incredibly attractive. In the same way Ayato was. Calculating, elegant, intelligent… you clearly had a type.
Still, talking to him didn’t make you feel self-conscious and he wasn’t condescending, so that was already a plus. Rolling your eyes at your train of thought, you leaned back in your chair and away from your laptop.
At this rate, your homework was never going to get done. The sound of dangerous sizzling certainly didn’t help. At his own specialty desk, Zandik was mixing a blue liquid with some kind of fluorescent green powder. His eyebrows were furrowed as he carefully measured something out, causing you to sigh.
Even out of class and a lab, Zan couldn’t help but tinker around on his own side projects, and while usually he knew exactly what not to do in the house, none of you would ever forget the time he created some kind of toxic vapor and caused an evacuation. After Rosalyn had passed out.
Needless to say, you didn’t want to distract him at this very moment, but you were bored. Usually you would nag Rosalyn until she went shopping with you or Kuni until he agreed to entertain you, but they were both busy.
“I can feel you staring at me, you know,” Zandik mumbled, still observing the semi-violent reaction. You sighed and walked over to him. “Sorry, I’m just bored, I guess. And my essay is kicking my ass, at the moment,” You groaned, plopping your head down onto his shoulder.
Zandik paused before setting down his equipment. “And you want me to entertain you? Why don’t you go text that Alhaitham guy,” He teased, a smirk playing at his lips.
You just rolled your eyes, but you couldn’t stop your mind from drifting to him. “Still bitter you got kicked out?” You laughed. He let out a huff before standing, causing you to stumble forward. And you would’ve fallen face first into his experiment if it wasn’t for his hand catching your collar.
“Alright, come on, we’re going out. We could both use a break, clearly.” And who were you to argue with that?
