I'm seeing posts about the Jedi and "attachment" going around again (or still).
Think of that B99 meme about the puppy and "I'd kill everyone in this room and then myself." It's funny because you know she doesn't actually mean it.
Now imagine she does. Take it with absolute sincerity. If anything happens to Arlo, Rosa will forget her oaths, unholster her service weapon and slaughter her fellow officers and anyone else who happens to be in range before eventually killing herself.
That's attachment. Yes, it's often played for laughs, but when it's a statement of fact, well, that's how you get Anakin Skywalker. The only difference is he kills everyone in the room and then just keeps killing.
That's the difference between "love" and "attachment."

Party Like It's 1999!
sanerontheinside asked if there would be another Party Like It's 1999. So, I thought I'd toss this out there.
YES. I will be hosting the Party Like It’s 1999 Celebration once again, this time for the 25th Anniversary.
You heard right! May 19th, 2024 will be the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace and, of course, Qui/Obi.
For those who might not know, the first Party Like It’s 1999 was hosted by Wild_ huntress on Live Journal for the 10th anniversary. The torch was then passed on to me (with her blessing). So, yeah, I’m hoping you will all want to Party Like it’s 1999 for the 25th, just as you did for the 15th and 20th.
Fiction, art, poetry, fan vids, etc. are all welcome.
Details and guidelines will be posted sometime in February. So stay tuned! Feel free to reblog this post!

I’ve been reading a lot of Star Wars Novels lately but one of Rael Aveross’ lines in Master and Apprentice really stood out to me
‘We don’t choose the light because we want to win… We choose it because it is the light’
To me it very well puts together the fight of the Jedi in the Clone Wars and later, the remaining Jedi’s battle against the Empire. They could of very well of given up but they chose to keep fighting on the side of good not because they knew it was the winning side, but because it was good because it was filled with light.
It’s Rael restating Qui-Gon Jinn’s line from earlier in the novel but I prefer the more simple way Rael phrases it.

Well I got good news for you kiddo, this website has you covered! Originally @modmad made a post about it, but her link stopped working and I managed to fix it, so here’s a new post. Basically, this is a costume rental website for plays and stage shows and what not, they have outfits for several different decades from medieval to the 1980s. LOOK AT THIS SELECTION:

There’s a lot of really specific stuff in here, I design a lot of 1930s characters for my ask blog and with more chapters on the way for the game it belongs to I’m gonna be designing more, and this website is going to be an invaluable reference.
