Look i dont wanna sound like a Fandom Mom or whatever but what do you think women over 25 or so are supposed to do? Do u really think theyre supposed to drop all their interests and just talk about taxes and marriage or whatever? It seems like 25+ year old fanboys do not receive this kind of âooh cringeâ reaction either. There are guys in their 40s with comic book collections and shit and people might think theyre a nerd at worst, not a freak who shouldnt be trusted
Happy Birthday Carrie Fisher!

AU idea for Digimon Adventures where Kari/Hikariâs partner was Demidevimon/Picodevimon and not Gatomon/Tailmon
I adore Gatomon/Tailmon but I also love Demidevimon and I adore the idea of tiny child of light Kari having a Devimon as a partner and the idea of Angemon and Devimon working together.
I remember reading a fic on FF.net about this ages ago (A girl and her Bat was the name of the fic) but that fic was a lttile different from this AU and in that fic Demidevimon evolved into Lucemon and not Devimon.
So in this AU Demidevimon ends up getting hurt most likely by Myotismon/Vamdemon and Kari ends up finding him and helping him, and thatâs one of first time that anyoneâs tried to help him so he really doesnât know how to react. Then he finds out that she knows about Digimon and is related to Tai so he tries to keep following her. Only he doesnât do a good job as he is not exactly the most subtly or stealthy of Digimon so Kari keeps catching Iâm and they end up talking because Demidevimon is nowhere near as calm and collected as Gatomon so he doesnât watch from a distant as much and there is a lot more interaction between them.
The thing is Demidevimon doesnât have Wizardmon or anyone like that on his side so 1 so 2 things would happen.
1) Wizardmon finds the digivice like in canon, the chosen children are able to get it back from him and through hijinks where they find Demidevimon with Kari, maybe trying to protect her from a Digimon attack or something the digivice activates and they realise that Kari is the last chosen child and Demidevimon of all digimon is her partner.
2)Wizardmon finds the digivice, but he and Gatomon figure out about Kari and Demidevimon and chose to help (albeit relucenty), because Myotismon is still the worst and really hurt Gatomon, so she and Wizardmon are 100% on board with defeating him. So the 2 of them help out the chosen children and both SURVIVEÂ
Either way thereâs a lot drama and mixed feelings when Demidevimon is revealed to being Kariâs partner, also so much awkwardness that does not go away for a while.
Myotismon captures Demidevimon like he did to Gatomon in canon and all the stuff still happens similarly.
But when Kari gets the digivice Demidevimon only evolves to his adult form of Devimon (which also creates lots of mixed feelings) and he would evolve to his other form in the darkmasters arc, kind of close to when Angemon does making the 2 mirrors of each other.
(The prophecy instead of mentioning 2 angels would mention light and darkness or something similar instead)
I know this is ramble I just love the idea of Kari with a huge intimating Devimon as a partner and Demidevimon getting more development.
Also little Kari and a Neodevimon.
Plus all the 02 kids reactions when sweet Kari is walking around with what looks like a demon and her hugging and babying it,
Also the whole duality between having a Angemon and Devimon and just showing that not all virus digimon are evil.
And finally the holder of the crest of light having a Devimon as her partner.
Let me know if anyone else likes the idea of this AU, this was super rambley and disjointed sorry about that

Killing off characters: the shoulds and shouldnâts
1. Why you should
The death is a major plot point
It reveals some shocking plot twist
It supports your themes/what youâre trying to say with your book
Your novel explores the afterlife
You are George R.R Martin and the selling point of your work is that everybody dies
It suits the genre/mood of your novel
2. Why you shouldnât
The character isnât serving any purpose (this isnât the Sims)
You want your readers to be shocked for the sake of being shocked
You want to be edgy
You think your MG story needs more gore
You want to romanticise grieving/loss
3. How you should
This really depends on your genre and target audience
If youâre writing something that isnât intended to be graphic/traumatic, you can stick to the impact the death has on the other characters. If your novel explores illness, focus on that rather than on the disturbing death scene itself. Perhaps youâre writing a drama/tragic romance - you might want to ease up on the gore here. For these genres, I would suggest focusing on the emotional aspect of the death - the sobbing, the last words, the bright white lights (whatever floats your boat). Think of Mufasa in The Lion King - the actions are suspenseful, but we donât see him being trampled with his guts spilling everywhere. But itâs still one of the most impactful deaths in fictional history.
If youâre writing in a more mature and gritty genre (like thriller, dark fantasy or crime), you can go all out. If thereâs blood and guts, you readers probably want to see it in vivid detail to get their violence fix for the day.
Whichever genre your novel falls into, you should also go with what feels comfortable to you. Even if youâre writing adult dark fantasy, you donât have to write graphic violence to make a character death impactful.
4. How you shouldnât
Please donât let your character have a three-pages-long monologue after theyâve been stabbed in the throat. Itâs not realistic and itâs often very boring. Yes, a few well-written last words can have a great impact. Just make sure that your character would realistically be able to speak at that point and that it doesnât become a cheese fest.
Unless youâre aiming for very dark/nihilistic humour, afford your characters some dignity in the way they kick the bucket. (e.g. donât use the phrase âkick the bucketâ). Having someone slip on a banana peel and then choke on a pretzel is a little ridiculous and will make the entire story seem silly. Once again, this really depends on what youâre going for. If your genre is serious and your character is important and beloved, try for emotion rather than whimsy.
Donât let your characters die only to be resurrected again and again and again. Look, I love Supernatural (long may they reign), but even I have to admit that the Winchester brothersâ luck with death has become a bit ridiculous. Doing this takes away from the impact of the death - it removes the fear and suspense, and will leave your readers emotionally stunted.
5. Who you shouldnât
Your only female character in a bid to make the male hero feel something and become a better person
Your only LGBTQIA+ character, who is just too pure to live in this terrible world
Your only character of colour, who dies to save the white hero
Your only disabled character, who can now finally find release from life with disability
The one character who has never experienced a sliver of joy and bears the brunt of the tragedy, right when happiness is finally within their reach
The main character in the middle of the story - unless you have a REALLY good plan for what happens next

Qunari are empowering Saarebas with lyrium so that they can become stronger, open temporary Rifts, slow time down, and use mysterious spells, all through unknown means.
Tevinter is terribly weakened, corrupted, and will not last in the war against the Qunari.
FenâHarel, now incredibly powerful, is planning to eliminate the corrupted parts of the Qun (good thing), but also to tear down the Veil (not that good, depending on the consequences). He will probably help the Tevinter slaves in rebelling against their masters too.
Titans are awakening. They are enormous beings living deep underground, whose blood has been consumed for millennia by mages and Templars alike, shaping the world as it is today. They also seem able to influence events above ground and they are very angry with the world or at least with the elves. They will probably re-establish their contact/link with the dwarves.
Something is happening in Weisshaupt, the Wardens have gone silent, and a new Blight is most likely coming.
The Evanuris are still locked away, but itâs obvious they will get free soon. They are a bunch of homicidal assholes who will not think twice about conquering Thedas again. They might be also tainted by the Blight, if the theories âEvanuris locked away with the Blight in the Black Cityâ are true.
If Kieran was born, Flemeth/Mythal took the Old Godâs soul from him, planning to do something with it. We still donât know what it is, but itâs unlikely she will stay âdeadâ. She still has to have her revenge, her âreckoning which will shake the very heavensâ.
Either Morrigan or the Inquisitor drank from the Well of Sorrows and the consequences of that act are still unclear, but whatever they are, they are going to suck or at least be mildly disturbing.
Mysterious Dalish elves live in the Tirashan. They are violent, cruel, and worship the Forgotten Ones.
Strange people from the Volca Sea are returning after a long absence, claiming a terrible calamity struck their lands.
We still donât know what lies beyond the Amaranthine Ocean, but whatever it is, it makes people go insane and suicidal.
