Whooops never mind, new art today!
A mass glitch of both mobile and deckstop (thanks for the update I guess?) feels like a bad time for some new art posts For once I have a lot of stuff to share, so stay tuned till the beloved hellsite is unfucked

what do you mean 20m. How do you do all this in 20m??? beautiful
Thank you! Freezing wind is a greatest motivator XD
When I note the time it’s always an approximate of time done actually pleinair-ing and doing 80% of the work in one go. Here, for example, I finished a bulk of small branches later at home — it’s a repetitive work which doesn’t really require looking at the subject.
Plus I use the materials that can be spread on paper fast and don’t take a lot of time drying.

Annabel Lee is my favorite of your artworks. It's so beautiful!
Thank you so much! I love the poem dearly and was proud of the drawing at the time that I made it and it warms my heart to hear that!) ❤️

For artist ask: 6, 21, 30
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it) A lot of mundane things — an interesting way the light hits the building, a beautiful color combo on my food/insect/pavement etc. I used to take photos of such things, but the fleeting feeling is difficult to categorize or to return to.
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways I am always in ave of bold exaggerated styles typically (but not always) used by artists with animation background. Or the similar styles that are minimal, relying on good composition and color. I am well aware that my own lacks emotions and expressiveness so seing it done feels like magic.
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated So, so many belong in museum and on the covers and I must be famous XD I honestly went for a look through my works to find some, and with most that didn’t get a lot of viewer’s love I can come up with a good reason why — and it’s mainly me being lazy with finishing, keeping continuity and expanding on a concept. Or they are liked on a more international platform while being completely ignored on the local one (and vise versa).

That being said, these are the pieces that I still love but feel like it's only me loving them) The song Annabel Lee The girl who loved Tom Gordon

For the 'weirdly specific artistic ask game': 15, 20, 28, 27 & 1!
1. Art programs you have but don't use Used to be ArtRage (a very intuitive program where I first learned to draw with a tablet, but lacking some useful features). In January my computer crashed and now all I have is all that I use.
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth) Mostly stuck in my room, obviously, but I draw at every event/lecture, in cafes, and sometimes get out of the city for a pleinair trip.
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy Ornaments, animals, meaty insides. I rarely get the chance though, because my work projects are all pretty safe and repetitive.
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with I know some artists literally go through series of doodles before starting work, but I never have the patience. I scribble a thumbnail of a future work to figure out the composition and count it as a warm up. When working on something, I usually leave the important pieces (faces/accents) for the middle, starting of general shapes or repetitive things (folds, trees, background etc)
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines) Quite a few but I haven’t had the energy of faith in myself in last years. I’ve completed “1 page 1 day”marathon twice, and participated in ~7 zines when invited, but none being big projects. Also some random exhibitions of which I have no certification to show for.

Have been recommended this ask list, and it does look really fun)
Weirdly Specific Artist Ask Game
Didn't see a lot of artist ask games, wanted to make a silly one.
(I wrote this while sick out of my mind last year and it's been collecting dust in my drafts, I might as well let it run free) 1. Art programs you have but don't use
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
3. What ideas come from when you were little
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
9. What are your file name conventions
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
12. Easiest part of body to draw
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
14. Any favorite motifs
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
23. Do you use different layer modes
24. Do your references include stock images
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated

out of curiosity, what are some of your favorite non-fiction books?
I really enjoyed Michel Pastoureau's book series on the history of different colors — he dives deep into how European history, material culture and philosophy affect our perception of such a basic concept.

Umberto Eco’s Vértigo (The Infinity of lists) and On Ugliness
I love the mythology series by russian publishing house MIF. They select the authors that expand on the history of mythological systems, the transition through time and modern interpretations. The titles are clickbaitey, but the books so far are definitely not just a surface scratching lists of characters. So far I’ve read Alexandra Barkova’s The Slavic myths, Joshua Frydman’s The Japanese myths, Natalia Osoianu’s The Romanian myths and Vladimir Petrukhin’s The Karelo-Finnish myths (and other works, he is amazing). Also, just look at the covers — it’s like a box of candy and I’m a sucker for a good book design.

Have read Lucy Worsley’s If walls could talk — a book following the history of English house (and way of life) from room to room — recently and enjoyed it quite a lot.

I like to think that my English is ok, but having to go through texts to add all the missing articles sure does feel humbling XD

You've definitely piqued my interest with the golden lands art (maybe one day I'll even be able to read it haha), was wondering if you ever read the winternight trilogy?
I have to confess that despite working with modern fantasy a lot I read almost none of it recreationally.
Perhaps its a bit of a fatigue from all the books that I read while working, of a fear of an unknown author, because fantasy genre always feels like a commitment for me.
I’ve looked up the synopsis and it sounds like a very interesting story with a lot of love and attention for the culture, which is something rarely found in foreign usage of a slavic setting.
