Inspired by images on my camera roll, a series capturing the uncapturable - Pt 1: strolling through Natural Bridges to catch a glimpse of the monarch butterflies' timeline, a sunset too beautiful to grasp, and a selfie echoing my inner metamorphosis. The attempt to possess life's fleeting moments, met with a subtle nudge of melancholic experience. So here is my art piece from last night, a tribute to Capturing the Uncapturable โ€” an expression.

ORCHID.
I have a white orchid in my room, a mysterious companion with petals as pure as moonlight. Uncertain in my role as a nurturer, my housemate told me something that stuck: orchids thrive on neglect. Two weeks have passed without water or touch, and the phrase continues to echo in my mind.
This feels like a riddle to me. I've never encountered the idea of thriving through neglect. I envision it as an intricate dance between care and distance, a symphony of longing and release. Overstepping means risking stifling the very strength that sustains her. As I wait for subtle whispers of when to intervene, I remain confined to comprehending the language of wilting.
I'm an observer of this white orchid in my room, drawing insights from her that surpass my efforts to nurture. At the delicate threshold between nurturing and letting go, I lay my trust upon her resilience. Through her quiet grace, she unveils the outcome of a battle that eludes my grasp, a testament to an inner struggle fought beneath the surface. It reminds me that just as I fail to fathom the concealed wars she endures, I also have failed to see burdens beneath others' external facades. Often catching a glimpse of their triumphs, the exquisite results of their enduring battles, without fully acknowledging the challenges they've braved along the way.
