I've been thinking about the Vox -> Alastor <- Lucifer dynamic.
Vox -> Alastor:
Vox confessed that he had a crush on Alastor and immediately demanded a response
Vox made it loudly known how much he wanted to have sex with Alastor
Vox also favors trying guilt Alastor or beg him to do what he wants while also being intensely jealous of anyone that takes Alastor's attention away from him
This is part of why Alastor doesn't care for Vox; He doesn't really care about sex and hates that Vox assumes he can have Alastor just because he wants Alastor
Vox also tends to go through cycles of intense love bombing followed by emotional outbursts and impatience, lashing out & blaming Alastor for their incompatibility
Alastor's experience with Vox definitely turned him off to attempting romantic relationships in the future
Alastor <- Lucifer
On the other hand, Lucifer had begun to slowly appreciate Alastor's weird personality, & sense of humor while staying at the hotel
Lucifer is at first deeply embarrassed to even have a crush on Alastor, then is unwilling to potentially ruin their friendship
Lucifer doesn't confess anything until an incident with Vox leaves Lucifer & Alastor really pissed off. Lucifer tells Alastor that he didn't expect anything of it & that he didn't have to respond
When asked about a more physical relationship, Lucifer tells Alastor that he's a little nervous about starting anything physical after his separation & would want to take things slow
Lucifer & Alastor start exploring their relationship very slowly with late night conversations and low key dates
This does NOT mean that they ever stop nitpicking at each other or trying to irritate one another as much as they can. Their interactions start to sound like an old couple instead of enemies.
It takes the rest of the hotel literal months to figure out there's been any change in their relationship

like imagine. it's percy in a really tight situation rn. he's tempted by his humane insecurities, risking trusting a suspicious primordial goddess. but he's choked, because he wants to be perfect. he wants to be enough. we see a torn expression on walker's face. indecision and doom is hanging in the atmosphere.
then we cut to some pop music blaring in the background. leah's lips are touched up with lipstick a close up shot. her cheeks are brushed with powdered pink. we see her spinning around in some dresses while giggling with the servants (+reyna cameo). she's shooting star eyes at the mirror with someone gives her a grand reveal of her new gorgeous hairstyle.
oh, where were we again? oh yeah. we cut back to percys life or death situation or whatever.

I'm honestly more interested in Husk and Alastor's relationship than Val and Angel's.
It's practically certified in fanon at this point that Alastor had an abusive father who he ended up killing (or wanted to)
Then, you add in his deal and the chain around his neck, and you could honestly have a story about cyclical abuse that extends even beyond a romantic/familial relationship.
Alastor could have fell into the cycle of abuse and hardship that he was victim to, and so projects his own hurt onto husk. If he himself is being forced to suffer, at least he can hurt someone too.
I'm praying that we'll get more of this in S2, though I doubt it's likely. Sigh.
I saw this Twitter post and couldn’t agree more. When you think about it, Alastor behaves more like a realistic abuser than Valentino. Of course, this is completely unintentional by Viv since Alastor is supposed to be the favorite and quirky one. This is what happens when you make all your villains/abusers over-the-top, one-note, and super obvious bad guys. This is what also happens when there’s no established morality in the shows.
Then the fandom wants be surprised when Alastor is called evil or vile, have to keep citing potentially outdated outside sources, and Viv has to explain Alastor’s character in interviews instead of the show itself.
Like Stolas, Alastor won’t really be called out for his bad actions and the narrative will used this mysterious deal he’s in to make him sympathetic. Like Blitz, the fandom will blame Husk for the situation as he “consented” to the deal or probably say “Well he was an overlord too and he may have hurt people too”. Even though the show uses Husk’s deal to bond with Angel.

Tell me that Hera, Goddess of Motherhood, wasn't completely enthralled when Leo Valdez, a few months old and so tiny and fragile, grabbed her finger for the first time and giggled like it was the best thing to happen in his life.
Tell me that Hera, Mother, doesn't replay the first time Leo Valdez, a year old and always covered in bumps and bruises because he climbs everything, said "TĂa" years after it happened.
Tell me that Hera, Patron of Women, didn't have cuckoos following Esperanza, young and alone and discarded by her family, when she had to lock up late to make sure no harm came to her.
Tell me that Hera, Goddess of Motherhood, didn't feel worshiped to the highest degree when Esperanza, tired and dirty and bleeding, worked nights so that she could afford to spoil her son for his birthday.
Tell me that Hera, TĂa Callida, didn't care when she put Leo, all of two years old and burning with a flame so bright the Earth Mother herself felt the need to intervene, in the fireplace as though to burn away his mortality.

I don't think I've read a single fic where Alastor and Lucifer get together because they make each other laugh. I need to see them being cringey old-ass qpr pals with combined -1000 rizz somehow charming the other by having horrible taste in humor.

No one remembers who started it but hardly a day can go by without Alastor and Lucifer trading dad jokes back and forth like a hot potato.
As soon as one catches sight of the other BOOM cringe-ass pun and without fail the other will burst into uncontrollable laughter.
And the jokes are bad. Like really bad. Not even Charlie can find the silver-lining (and she has tried). Listening to them laugh at those truly horrible jokes sparks an avalanche of second-hand embarrassment on the part of everyone within ear shot.
It eventually gets to the point that just looking at each other triggers a Pavlovian response where they just giggle and wheeze before the other can even tell a joke.
