My thoughts under the cut ✂
Oh boy let me tell you. (TMI probably) It was a pretty good year until it totally wasn't. And I can't stress enough how much it wasn't good then. It all started with jumping head-first into WolfStar bc why not. And it was so nice, I still have like 5 other illustrations started. But then my doc prescribed me some hormones and it all went crashing down. I didn't expect it and I was so very not prepared. It started like a regular sad PMS that just didn't end. But then it got worse, every day I felt like I was stepping into depression at an alarmingly fast pace. When I reached the bottom it felt so much worse than what I've ever experienced and the only thing keeping me going day after day was the knowledge that those damn meds were to blame and if only I could go through the whole treatment I surely (HOPEFULLY) would go back to normal. Looking back at it now, I realize I could have contacted my doc and simply dropped the treatment bc it was totally not worth it (and it didn't work anyway so (^: ). But I didn't know my brain was capable of jumping so deep so fast. So I pushed through somehow, wasted 4 months of 2023 on barely surviving. With the hormones out of my system I managed toy prepare and finish whole Inktober. I still don't know how it happened. Where I found the energy to do that after my mid-year drama? But I'm very proud it somehow happened :) Also sometime during Fall I found out about and started "Artist's Way". It slowly changed my mindset and now I'm full of willpower and creative energy for 2024 (still have pretty much zero free time so ya know, I don't know when new works will drop)

OMG YOUR ART IS AMAZING
I hope I'm as good at art as you one day.
I know you're mostly a marauders person, but if possible, could you make a Drarry fanart?? (Draco x Harry)
It's perfectly ok if you don't. I was just wondering.
Thx!!!
P.S. You slay.
Thank you! (´꒳`)♡
Actually yes, I'm a Drarry person as well!

Hello! Your art and style is so amazing! The colors, the shading, the poses, it all looks so lively and cute 😍. I was wondering if you've ever drawn jily? I would have loved to see them in your style, I'm always missing the true, real Marauders with Jily and Wolfstar 😭
Hello! Thank you so much, I'm very happy you like my artworks' vibe ♡ I haven't gotten to drawing Lilly (or Jily) yet. I've only painted only like 5 marauders illos so far - there's still so much to try! :)

I am not against that ship for sure so... you never know! (¬‿¬ )
I've only finished like 6 artworks with the marauders so I'm pretty much a baby in this fandom. Who knows where my path will lead me (I sure don't)

Hi! Is it ok to use any of your art as an icon/header anywhere? Specifically the wolfstar art you have as your header. You're super talented btw!
Sure, go for it 🖤 but please credit me in your bio or somewhere visible too!

Here's my entry for the Clip Studio Paint contest + a bit of process insight for those interested (done in CSP EX). Read under cut ♡
I've started with sketchbook composition thumbnails (not shown here) where I mostly tried to find a nice way to place the tree trunks + the girls on a square canvas. When I've had it *somehow* established I've moved to digitally sketching it out together with values. I usually do it bc lines of pencil work differently than blobs of colour, so some objects that look fine in lineart might just be too much or not enough when you add colour's heaviness to them.
Sketch clean up! As you can see in the video process - I've cleaned up the whole scene and then added one more outline pass to the girls. I usually don't need that much definition to the background elements, I go very yolo there.
Outline + value composition on multiply. I've checked if it still makes sense before diving into colours.
Colour time! Let me start with saying that I LOVE csp's lasso fill tool. I want to marry it. (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) //This part looks the same if I use photoshop or procreate too, I just use a solid brush there. // I've started with picking a colour palette. Then I've worked with one hue (used orange-yellow here the most) and just changed brightness/saturation of it. It creates a very cohesive image. As I've moved into smaller parts I've added more hues. You could say I went with split complementary palette here (yellow + red + blue). Also important - I always have an extra black/white layer in "colour" mode on top of my art and I turn it on/off every once in a while to check if the values still work too!
Basic lighting. I like it dramatic. You can see that I have my very first value sketch layer on here as well, but I've turned it off later - the bg trees were no longer matching up with that sketch and it just added unnecessary mess.
Rendering! I've used some of my fav csp brushes but if you look closer you can see that a lot of lasso fills from the last step are left untouched. I like the sharpness of them compared with how the rest of the painting is sketchy and textured. How I go with it so it's not overwhelming - I start with work zoomed out so i can see 100% of it, get a nice textured brush (can be different texture for different materials), blend some of the hard lasso borders with it + add textures on flat surfaces. I add a bit more colour but still staying in the safe zone. When the whole picture looks like a textured mess I zoom in a bit and work my way through the picture. Then I zoom in a bit more and make another pass with even smaller details. Notice that only the focus point is really detailed and rendered. Rest just pretends ;) My art profs always said to work from the bigger picture to the smaller picture and I think it's a valid point.
When the work looks finished I leave it be for a while, then come back to it and mark everything I see is not working. In this work I've noticed that one of the tree trunks was just a no-no, way too straight (lol), flow of the dress was too distracting and the head was too big, etc.
Fixed! Say hello to my OCs ♡
And that's how it all went! If you have any questions or something is unclear, just drop me an ask :D I hope you enjoyed this journey!
