Blurb from a story I’m not sure I like
Rengoku Kyojuro x Reader
“Do you want me to do your hair?” Blushing, you nodded. “I’ll be right back.” He patted your hands and got up to walk out of the room. You could hear him next door riffling through something. He cursed lightly before shutting the drawer he was in and stomping out. When he came back in, he was holding a brush and a couple gold pins. “I tried to find the one you like the most, but I think I left it at home.” Home. Was that the Rengoku estate?
“That’s okay. Those ones match better with my uniform.” He smiled and walked around you to start combing through your hair. His touch was gently and light unlike when you brushed through your own hair. He savored every moment of what was normally a monotonous task.
“That’s what you always say. Plus-“
“This way I don’t lose anything special.” You finished the sentence for him and looked down at your lap. It felt confusing to know bits and pieces of your life. Shinobu and you had good banter. Something that felt familiar even though you didn’t use to spend a lot of time with her. Those golden pins. As soon as he walked in, you knew what to say. Even now with him combing through your hair, this too felt familiar, but he’s never done it before. You tilted your head back to look at him. He had a small smile painted on his face and his eyes softened from their normal wide open state.
“I usually only do this when we are going to sleep. Senjuro always does the fancy stuff!” He was concentrating on your hair. Almost like he was training. You laughed and pulled his hand down over your shoulder, toying with his long fingers, and admiring the rough scars from training. From behind you, he let out a content sigh. Kyojuro always savored the moments you touched. Now more than ever, he wanted to drown in the feeling.
“Just do something you can do well. I’m sure no one will mind.” You words snapped him out of his daze. He shook his head then turned to put the brush down while ensuring his fingers didn’t slip from yours.
“Right, but I want you to be comfortable!” His voice sounded happy and serene. ïżŒLike that memory
“I got it.” He started on your hair again. Regretfully letting go of your hand, giving one small squeeze before pulling away. You could feel the concentration rolling off of him. It took everything in your power not to take a peak back at him and ruin his work. His fingers combed through your hair now and twisted it into a lose low bun.
“Does Senjuro know I’m ok?” First pin in, he started with the second to make everything stay. Part of him wanted to start over again and again so this moment would last forever.
“Yes. He doesn’t know about your memory.” His voice was soft and filled with sorrow. He placed in the second pin and walked around to your front. Kneeling down he gently reached up to fix the few hairs framing your face, “Beautiful.” You swatted his arm.
“It’s bad taste to compliment your own work, you know?”
“I wasn’t.”

Rengoku Kyojuro x Reader
Tales of the Librarian
Tumblr media
Kyojuro cracked open the door slowly. The room inside was dark and a small candle was lit on a desk in the middle of the room. A young woman quickly stood up smiling at him.
“Hello, good evening, how can I help you?” She beckoned him closer and lit the other candle to lighten the darkness.
“Hello, my name is Rengoku Kyojuro the flame hashira! I’m here on Master Ubuyashiki’s behalf.” His voice was loud and booming. His smile lessened ever so slightly at the slight cringe to her features. She quickly righted her expression.
“Yes, yes. Do you have the list?”
“I’m supposed to speak to the head librarian.” He shuffled uncomfortably. Tengen, who usually got Ubuyashiki’s books, said the librarian was an old man. Tengen also said, he’d only ever seen the old man and a young boy tending to the library. The young lady before him was unaccounted for. She reached out and touched his shoulder after noticing his gathering tension.
“Akasaka has fallen ill. I’m his assistant, usually you guys come at night and master sends me home before dusk.” His body relaxed. Nodding, he reached into his pocket to hand her the list.
“He’s a smart man then.”
“Yes, with our knowledge comes some responsibility.” She gently took the list out of his open palm to unfold it. Biting her lip in thought, she sat down again to read it. Just then a boy came around the corner with a lantern and a cart stacked high with books. He couldn’t have been older than 16. He raised the lantern up in Kyojuro’s direction.
“You’re not the usual slayer.” The boy walked around the desk to stand protectively in front of his companion. With his arms crossed, he pouted at Kyojuro’s never changing expression. She interrupted the conversation before either could speak.
“There’s two at the bottom I don’t have ready yet. Do you happen to know if Ubuyashiki would mind them not in braille?” Kyojuro tilted his head in thought, Tengen hadn’t given him any detail. Just told him to pick up the books.
“Braille? What’s that?” He’d never figured how Ubuyashiki read. He assumed someone read to him. The boy laughed at his ignorance. She shoved him lightly from behind.
“David, don’t be rude! Not everyone can know everything Braille is
well it might be easier to show you.” She tucked the list into the pocket of her jacket. It was two sizes too big, but an expensive fabric. She walked around the desk.
“If you’re taking him to the back room, just know I haven’t cleaned it yet.” David sat down in her chair blushing from his lashing.
“That’s alright. Come, Rengoku. You’ll have to watch your step.” She grabbed his hand and the lantern. The library was pitch black in front of them as they went deeper. Dust piled on the shelves as they walked past. David’s frustrated whispering slowly dying out behind them. Kyojuro kept close. The darkness making him nervous.
“What is this place?” She chuckled and squeezed his hand. The man was obviously a little frightened.
“A library. Not a normal one as you can tell. We have one of the largest collections of texts, so the library is quite large. I’m sorry about the mess. This past month has been hectic. Ubuyashiki’s family uses our library for the braille translations because of their affliction.” Kyojuro’s eyes widened surprised she knew about the curse. Using her body weight, she tried to shove open a door in front of them. He reached around and pushed it open with one hand. The room in front of them pitch black. “Ah, thank you.”
“No problem, but why is this library so dark?” Kyojuro hated the dark for obvious reasons. Where the sun didn’t reach, demons could be hiding. She gripped his hand again and pulled him forward.
“There is a large glass sun roof, but we close it at night. It is easier to protect one entrance.” She dropped his hand lightly. Kyojuro almost chased after her as she walked away. Walking around the room she began lighting the candles, he could see now it was a workshop. There were rows of little metal tiles like at a print shop. There were a couple bound papers with titles he recognized as ones Ubuyashiki requested. He picked one up and flipped through it, but there was nothing there. His eyebrows furrowed in thought.
“What are these markings?” She caught his wrist before he could touch the page and he flinched.
“Sorry. However, your touch may be too rough, may I?” She gestured to his hand.
“Of course.” Kyojuro blushed lightly in the low light, but she looked away before it could become noticeable. She closed his palm, letting his pointer and middle finger remain outstretched. Then, she lightly touch them across the page down the first line of raised dots.
“This is braille. Each set,” she guided his hand back over to the very first ones formed in an upside down L formation. “Corresponds to a character in the alphabet. This way the blind can read.” She let go of his hand, so he could look for himself.
“Why not have someone read to them?” He looked up from the paper mesmerized. She smiled at him lightly.
“How would you feel if you couldn’t even read by yourself?” There was no malice in her question. She turned away to the desk and sighed. “Just as I thought, I haven’t finished the last two. One of them is almost done, if I start now, I should be able to finish before morning.”
“I can wait here until morning.”
“Oh, you don’t have to, Rengoku. You can go home and sleep then come back at dawn.” He shifted uncomfortably. It felt wrong to go into town and sleep when someone was doing work, but this wasn’t something he could help with. During his indecisiveness, she leaned forward in front of him. “Unless you’d like to help?”
“I’d prefer to help.” He smiled at her understanding.
“Let me go talk to David. He has quite the workload. Just don’t mind his attitude.” She stepped forward to whisper in his ear, “I think he might have a crush on me.” Kyojuro blushed again and she chuckled into his ear at her own joke. “You’ll be fine alone?”
“Yes, thank you. I won’t touch anything.” She patted his shoulder and turned to walk out the door with the lantern. Kyojuro shuffled uncomfortably. The librarian was interesting, confusing. The whole building was confusing. There was something about it that didn’t seem normal, but it was probably just the dark. The others moved into the darkness without a care even though they knew about demons. He knew that what was making him uncomfortable. He looked around the workshop once again.
There were some small leather boots by the door that looked to be the women’s size. Next to them on the wall were brown pants, though they had two straps going out the top. A style he had seen recently in the bigger cities. A black button up was next to it on the wall. He found it odd to think of her small delicate frame in this, but it was obviously meant for her. The pants had slight ink stains from work. Past the braille station, he noticed the print machine. However, the real cause for the ink around the room, were the woodblock prints. One recent one was a set of flowers carved into the block, that one was covered in ink. Down on the floor was the print. It wasn’t done perfectly, but he found the slight drops of blue ink that were splattered across the page brought more life to it. There was a knock from behind him and he turned to see her at the door. She slowly came over with a small smile.
“You like that piece?”
“I do, it reminds me of someone.” She sighed.
“I wasn’t too happy when I completed it.” He bent down next to it, to look over better. The light blue flowers reminded him of his mother’s wind chime from home. Once he got to the corner he smiled. Her name and fingerprint was there. It was comforting to see that she still took ownership over it.
“Why did you sign it if you didn’t like it?” He couldn’t help himself, he had to ask. She laughed to herself and turned to walk out the door expecting him to follow.
“It’s still mine. When I look at many famous artists, the art seems daunting. The skill I mean, but I’m sure they didn’t start out that way. They learned and grew into their art by practicing. By looking at where the droplets fell, I know for next time that those are place I put too much ink.”
“I admire that. If only I could do that
”
“You can, you should take it with you when you leave.”
“Take it? Your art piece?” She turned to look at him over her shoulder. The desk coming into view in front.
“It’ll remind you to look back and learn from what you’ve done.” Before he could answer, she approached David at the desk. He stood up.
“What about guarding the door?” David looked anxiously over. There was always someone at the desk at night doing clerical work and watching the door. The people considered this place a safe haven, so if anything was wrong, someone would come running. She ruffled David’s hair and glanced at Kyojuro.
“There’s a hashira with us. If it opens, I’m sure he’ll hear it.” David’s arms came up and swiped her off of him.
“Whatever, go get working on your braille and I’ll try to make him not useless.” She laughed and kissed David’s cheek. He quickly turned away nervously.
“Take a break if you need it and feel free to ask questions. I know it might be hard in the dark.”
“I do most of my work in the dark, so hopefully it won’t be too difficult.” She smiled and handed him her lantern.
“You’ll need this more than I. I know the way to the office. David, do you have your pocket watch?”
“Yes!” He snapped out of his daze and held it up proudly. A light blush on his cheeks.
“Bring our guest to the office at sunrise. I’ll try to work on your other book too.”
“Don’t worry about it. I can come back for that one. Master Ubuyashiki is kind, he’ll understand.” She nodded and patted his shoulder as she walked past.
“Have fun, Rengoku~.” She disappeared into the darkness. Kyojuro turned back to see the boy watching after her. He laughed loudly at David’s lovestruck expression. David snapped out of it to glare at him.
“Let’s show you the ropes. You’ll probably be completely hopeless at it anyways.” David was right. Kyojuro was completely hopeless. Even with his enhanced sight in the dark from all his work, he couldn’t see anything, so he kept stumbling into unsuspecting shelves. David would scold him and instruct him to hold the lantern further out in front of him. However, Kyojuro didn’t understand why he had to. He was a pillar for crying out loud, so why was he running into shelves. Though every time he did, it didn’t escape him to notice that he had been thinking about the girl in the office. There was a sound of the machine every 5-10 minutes as she finished another page. Every time, Kyojuro couldn’t help but want to wander over to the office. None of the books they had to put away were in that direction.
When Kyojuro could make it through the isles, finding the correct place was now a different story. David was so quick. He barely had to look at the shelves to find their place. Kyojuro had to go row by row then book by book. For every book he did, David did 10. After a while, the boy sighed at Kyojuro’s hunched over form.
“Maybe this isn’t the right job for you. We still have a couple of hours. The floors and shelves still need to be cleaned. Think you can manage?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Good, come with me to the cleaning closet.” He led him over to the left side of the building and handed him a rag first. “Dust the floors, then come get me.” Only thirty minutes later Kyojuro, ran up to David in the aisle.
“This one is the only one I have left!” David’s eyes widened.
“Upstairs?”
“Yes!”
“O-oh, uh let me move the cart.” They moved it together and David peaked around to corner to watch. Kyojuro pushed the rag against the floor in front of him like normal and started to push it forward. All the sudden, the man let out a deep breath and took off down the row. The shelves shook with the force of his movement. David could barely make out his body as it zipped back towards him then away again. A couple seconds later, Kyojuro came jogging down the aisle.
“Done with this one, polishing now, right?” David blinked rapidly then snapped out of it.
“R-right! How did you do that?” They started walking towards the closet again. The floors were spotless.
“My breathing technique. You can do a lot if you just learn to control your breathing!”
“I’d like to learn sometime if you can teach me
”
“I’d love to! Are you interested in swordsmanship as well? You could become my student.”
“No! I-I don’t want to leave the library. I want to learn to protect this place, but I don’t want to leave.” David looked down at the ground. He glanced at the office then shook his head. “Let’s just get this done.”
The rest of the night went smoothly. Kyojuro took longer polishing then set off to dust the selves and railings too. Usually that never got done during the night, but he didn’t finish anyways. The upstairs was the only fully clean section and David shouted out when it was time to go. They slowly walked towards the office together. David knocked, but got no reply. Heaving his body against the door, he cracked it open and squeezed inside. Kyojuro shoved it open easily afterwards.
David hushed him and pointed at a hunched over form. The librarian was sleep against the desk. Her head pressed against the wood. One hand was still on a book page probably keeping her place. The other was pressed against the metal tiles that were slotted on a board. Kyojuro moved forward to wake her up and David pulled on his haori. He looked back trying to make eye contact in the dark. The candles long burned out.
“Please, don’t. She barely sleeps anymore. What is it you need, I’ll get it?”
“Ah, the list is in her jacket pocket.” David nodded and walked forward with the lantern. Avoiding things strewn about on the floor that hadn’t been there before. He gently reached into the pocket to pull out the list. She didn’t even move. David unfolded the list and started to silently stack the braille books. Now that Kyojuro could get a closer look, he could see dark circles under her eyes. He recalled the conversation from earlier: he remembered the library was open day and night. That way anyone could come for protection or for the sake of knowledge. David shuffled the books into a bag like he was shown so they weren’t ruined. He grabbed Kyojuro’s haori and tugged him out. Now out in the hallway they could talk.
“I’ll move her later. She’s a heavy sleeper once she’s out. She finished the one book, but not the other like expected. I’ll lead you- Actually
” He shuffled his feet nervously. “Can you help me open the skylight before you go?” It was the last thing that needed to be done tonight.
“Of course, I can’t wait to see it!” David rolled his eyes and led him to a chain in the corner of the room.
“You have to pull this side and I have to go to another chain to open the other. They only stay open when both sides are. It’s a safety feature or something.”
“You can never be too careful.”
“Yeah
just pull the chain.” David ran off towards the other one. Kyojuro waited until the side started to move up ahead to pull his own. The sun slowly leaked through over the library inch by inch. His eyes actually burned at the bright light and the sun wasn’t even fully up. The sides, finally pulled back, made a locking noise from up above and he couldn’t pull the chain anymore. He carefully let it go. With the new light in the room, he could see David on the other side. The library’s dark oak floors shined despite the dust in the air and on the shelves. He left the chain and approached a book shelf. The shelf itself was dirty, but the books were immaculate. Obviously each one was taken care of. David approached again and started pulling at his elbow.
“Look, I’m not really supposed to let people walk around over here. Master doesn’t like people in the back sections.”
“I understand. Who cares for these books?” He turned to follow the boy to the door.
“The librarians do. I only care for the front section. They care for everything else, especially downstairs.” Kyojuro’s smile widened mischievously.
“Downstairs? I didn’t know you had more books than this!” The library, now he could see had each shelf full to the brim. As they got closer to the door, he could tell these books up front were read by the public.
“Downstairs holds the dangerous books. I’ve never been down there, but a couple of the books Master Ubuyashiki requested came from there. The rest came from upstairs. That’s our medicinal section.” They reached the door and David took the satchel off to hand over to Kyojuro. His curiosity was eating at him.
“And only the two librarians are allowed downstairs?” The boy huffed out now annoyed. Something he was always chided for since they were supposed to encourage questions, so he answered.
“Yes, they have a key or something. She even sleeps with the damn thing and you’d figure you could take it then, but she jumps up like a zombie!” David mimicked the movements he was describing. “Freaky stuff. Then I tried to steal from the old man and he did the same thing!” Kyojuro hummed in thought. Both of you had obviously been trained to protect the key, even in your sleep. He really wanted to know what was in the basement. Maybe Ubuyashiki would humor him.
“Thank you, young man. I will be back in three days for the other book I’m missing. Maybe I’ll find out what is down there with you!” David smiled, but quickly wiped it off his face into a scowl.
“Like you’d be able to do it! I’ve been trying for years.” Kyojuro laughed and ruffled the boys hair. David did the same thing as earlier and swatted his hand away. He shoved open the door and pushed Kyojuro out of it.
“Goodbye, and nice meeting you!” David huffed and slammed the door closed as soon as Kyojuro was out.
Two days later, Kyojuro approached Tengen’s estate nervously. He had to go to the library tomorrow to retrieve the last book and he needed advice. Before he could open the gate, Tengen popped his head over it.
“You’ve been standing there for like ten minutes. You’re making the wives nervous.”
“Tengen, hello! Just wanted to drop by to say hello.” Now that he was here, he felt ridiculous asking Tengen for women advice.
“Nonsense, come inside for tea.” The gate whipped open and Kyojuro trudged inside. The three women of the house came out to greet him.
“Kyojuro! We’re so glad to see you here again. You never visit.” Hinatsuru said. Makio responded with a quick hey and a nod. Suma lunged at him to get him into a hug. Since his mind was elsewhere, he instinctively avoided it and she went into Tengen.
“Wow, didn’t know you were that distracted.” Makio said. Suma cried into Tengen about her avoided hug behind him. Kyojuro scratched his neck nervously.
“I’m sorry, I actually came here for advice.” They all halted their movements. Surrounding him, Tengen spoke first.
“About a woman?!” Kyojuro looked away and blushed. The girls squealed. Finally Kyojuro was looking into women and not work.
“Where did you meet a woman?” Makio asked.
“The library.”
“There’s no woman at the library. I would’ve seen her by now!” Tengen crossed his arms unbelieving.
“Akasaka fell ill, so his assistant has been taking care of the place!”
“Ignore Tengen, tell us about her!” Hinatsuru grabbed his hands and led him to the engawa so they could all sit. Tengen dragged behind.
“She’s interesting
” It was difficult for him to describe a woman. Tengen decided to prompt him to talking more.
“The way they move in the darkness is scary isn’t it? Like demons.” Tengen plopped down in front of him.
“Her and David both did that. I think they can see better than me.”
“David? What a weird name,” Makio commented.
“I want to hear more about this girl!” Suma cried out.
“Oh uh
she taught me about braille!” He looked down at his hands. He decided to leave out the mention of the painting you gave him.
“I’ll bet she did.” Tengen smirked and said seductively. Hinatsuru hit the back of his head. Kyojuro furrowed his eyebrows confused by his words.
“We didn’t interact a lot, but we held hands. I’d like to court her.” The women awed at Kyojuro’s determined expression and Tengen rolled his eyes. He was obviously hopeless, Kyojuro had never interacted with a woman before outside of his line of work. His wives stared at him pleadingly, they needed more information and most importantly they wanted to help him.
“Fine, fine. When are you going back to the library?”
“Tomorrow!”
“I’m coming with you. I have to meet the girl in order to help you do this.”
“Thank you, Tengen.”
The next day, Kyojuro showed up at Tengen’s door waiting for him to get going. Tengen slid to door open and stopped. Looking over the other man he sighed.
“What are you wearing?”
“My demon slayer uniform. This is still technically a mission.” Kyojuro still had his blade for crying out loud. Tengen sighed, but closed to door behind him anyways. If there was a woman out there for him, they’d have to get used to that uniform.
“Let’s head out, race you there!” The two took off down the path.
Stopping right in front of the library doors, Kyojuro reached forward to knock. Tengen pushed passed and just opened the doors. At the desk in the middle of the room was David, he was slouched over writing something. He looked up and scowled.
“Now there’s two of you? For one book?”
“We were both in the area.” Tengen said and strode forward. They both looked side to side trying to see another lamp in the darkness. David stood with the book in his hand.
“Here, this is the last one you needed, right?” Kyojuro came forward to take it, but he could help but ask David. Tengen tapped his foot impatiently.
“Where is she? I didn’t expect to only see you tonight.”
“A stack of volumes to restore came in last night. I’ve been holding down the fort up front.”
“So there really is a girl? I almost thought you were lying!” Tengen exclaimed and leaned forward. He absolutely had to see her now.
“Now you brought this womanizer back into the library with you?”
“Who are you calling a womanizer? I’ll have you know-“ A crash resounded from the back of the library. It came from the office. Kyojuro’s hand twitched over his blade, but David just ran away from the desk towards it.
“I told you. They have weird darkness powers.” Tengen grabbed the lantern he left and followed the whispers. As they got closer, Kyojuro could make out your voice.
“It’s alright, just a little cut.” The smell of blood wafted out through the open door. Peaking in, Tengen and Kyojuro watched David led you over to the chair. The large machine in the room had a piece broken off on the floor. You were cradling your bleeding arm. That wasn’t just a little cut. Kyojuro opened the door more to step inside. Tengen let out a surprised whistle.
“Looks like you hurt yourself bad, girly. Rengoku, help her out, yeah?” He put a hand on his friend’s back and shoved him forward.
“Of course! Do you have a first aid kit?!” He stood rigid and at attention. His voice boomed around the loud room. A light blush dusted his cheeks once he realized his mistake. You smiled pleasantly at the two.
“Please, I don’t-“
“I‘ll get it!” David ran out of the room, pushing the hashira to the side. Tengen looked between you two before slowly backing out of the room. He caught Rengoku’s worried stare and gave a thumbs up then disappeared. Rengoku cleared his throat.
“W-what, excuse me, what have you been up to?” He carefully stepped forwards. You gave a light laugh.
“I’ve been working on the last book and restoring some more.” Gently, Rengoku took your arm to examine, he nodded to show he was listening. Tengen’s tip number 5: listen to what she has to say, actually listen and show interest!
“Restoring some?” He stuffed a hand into his uniform to look for the bandages he usually keeps there. At the same time, trying to maintain eye contact. His clumsy demeanor was endearing. His eyebrows twitched with worry once he realized he didn’t have bandages.
“Well, we value all sorts of texts that come in, so we try to-“ You were interrupted by a rip. “Oh my god! Rengoku, stop!” Kyojuro quickly snapped his eyes back to you. He was holding a strip of his haori in his hand.
“It’s alright! You’re far more important than my haori.” He smiled brightly. Slowly grabbing your arm to wrap up. You blushed, speechless. Outside the room, Tengen was silently cheering for his companion while holding David still against his chest with a hand over his mouth.
“Thank you.” He hummed, pleased with his work. Rengoku let his hand linger in yours and looked up from your hands to your eyes.
“Would you care to go on a date?” You blushed, squeezing his hand out of nerves. David outside the door kicked and screamed against Tengen.
“Fucking brat,” Tengen whispered. You laughed before answering Rengoku.
“I’d enjoy that.” He smiled, grabbing your non injured arm and guiding you out of the room shouting.
“Tengen! Tengen! Your advice worked, old frie- What are you two doing?”
“Well you see this kid tried to interrupt.”
“Tengen, you can’t have him as a tsuguko. He’s already agreed to be mine.”
“You think I want to train this whiny kid?!”
“Sorry to interrupt, but I think you’re strangling MY student.” David stumbled out of the larger man’s grasp gasping. Rengoku clapped him on the back harshly.
“You- you can’t go-go out with that guy.” He panted out while pointing at Rengoku. You stepped forwards. Slipping your hand out of Rengoku’s, he frowned as you supported David’s weight. The young boy pouted towards you then glared at the other two.
“We’ll talk this over while we fix the machine. Rengoku?” His whole head snapped in your direction. “Send me a crow with some times and dates that work for you. I know our schedules are busy, but I have a feeling things will work out.” He blushed and nodded. You walked back into the office scolding David. The hashira headed back to Tengen’s estate to discuss everything with his wives. Rengoku opened the gate while laughing at something Tengen said. Tengen suddenly grabbed him by the shoulder and started dragging him away slowly.
“Where are we going?!” Rengoku was back to shouting everything. Tengen stopped dragging him and looked back. His face held a look of exasperation.
“We forgot the book.” Rengoku laughed with joy so loud at the thought of seeing you again that the trees around the estate shook.

Silly Mistakes
George x reader x Fred Weasley
Tumblr media
It started with a prank, as most things with the twins do. Ron and Harry were trying to figure out how to do a new spell Hermione was holding over their head. They had no choice but to go to the next best person, a Ravenclaw.
“(Y/N), can you help us learn a spell?” Ron and Harry surrounded you in the library with pleading eyes.
“Uh
sure what’s the spell?” Harry never spoke to you, unless he needed something, but you were friends with Ron so you accepted. You were a week ahead on homework anyways.
“Okay, so it’s Stupefy, and I already know what you’re going to say. The name does not imply anything!” Ron got into a wide stance while explaining and held his wand directly in front of himself.
“Oh, I know that spell, I taught Hermione that one.” You were pretty close with Hermione. She was far better at charms than you, but you wanted to surprise her at one of your study sessions together. Pouring over texts looking for a spell she didn’t know was worth it to see her face.
“Hey! How come-!” Ron was interrupted by his wand flying out of his hand and behind a bookshelf.
“Maybe if you weren’t such a dick head, Hermione would’ve taught you the spell herself, Ron.” One of the twins popped out holding the wand. Before you could say anything, Harry jumped in.
“But I didn’t do anything!” The twin shook his head exasperated. Ron ran at him to get his wand back. The twin let out an exaggerated shriek, dropped the wand, and both boys watched in horror as it seemingly slipped through a crack in the floor.
“How could you, George!? What am I going to do without my wand?” Ron wailed and crouched down to the ground trying to peak through. Harry ran over to look himself. You giggled into your hand watching them both shove their faces against the floor. Everyone’s heads swiveled in your direction.
“Don’t be so mean, Fred.” You waved your own wand in their direction. Ron’s wand suddenly appeared in Fred’s hand. “That spell is quite tricky.” Ron jumped up and grabbed the wand from the shocked boy. It didn’t shock Fred that you could immediately see through it. After all, the spell was meant to fool someone far dumber than you, but his name. You got the right name.
The next time it happened was in the great hall. This time there wasn’t a prank. It was just a simple thing of handing out letters. Both twins sat at the bench next to each other as always. Their mother’s owl flew in to deliver everyone some letters about Christmas. Percy went to hand the twins theirs as you were passing by behind them.
“Oh Percy, this one is George.” You pointed at the twin to your right and smiled. You patted both on the shoulder then continued to walk off towards your table. The twins leaned back so they could follow your movements. Percy’s eyebrows furrowed and he tossed George’s letter in the correct direction.
“That’s odd.” Percy made a mental note to tell their mom about this. She’d be sure to invite you over, he smirked at the thought. He tossed Fred his. It smacked him in the chest since he was still distracted, then Percy went off to hand over Ron’s.
“Well we’ve gotta test this out don’t we Georgie?”
The Weasleys were pretty sure about the outcome, but it’s the twins we’re talking about. They need to test everything. Together, they came up with a plan.
While walking back from the library with a book in hand, you didn’t realize that the hallways weren’t the same. You figured that since you normally took the path back to the common room without looking, this time would be the same. Looking up expecting to be at the door, you were shocked to barely be able to see anything at all. A small gasp left your lips before you went to grab your wand. The book thudded onto the floor. The sound of a voice stopped you before you could cast luminos.
“(Y/N), wait a moment!”
“George?” A hand settled tentatively onto your back and another gripped your arm. Hearing the correct name made his heart skip a beat.
“I well
we just want to test something if that’s alright?” George, for once, was hesitant about this plan.
“I don’t understand, test what? A new prank?” You occasionally helped the twins with pranks, but you were never on the receiving end. Maybe a couple chocolate frogs in surprising places sometimes. You frowned and turned around to try and look at George. It was hard to see anything at all besides his hair.
“Give me one second.” He stepped back into the darkness. Strangely, the sound of his footsteps also disappeared after a few steps. You reached out into the darkness frantically trying to look for him causing you to trip and crash into someone else. This smell was familiar. Fred always smelled like fireworks.
“You might wanna be careful. What are ya scared of the dark?” Fred chuckled into your ear then twirled you around and let go. “Shoot! I forgot to wait for it.” You stumbled away from his voice. George quickly grabbed your shoulders.
“Snooze you loose, now which twin am I, love?”
“G-George.” It was strange to hear him acting more confident like Fred.
“Is it the voice? At first we thought our appearances were off.” It was clear what exactly they were doing now. You blushed, glad that the light was so low.
“Oh
” You hesitated. The twins weren’t different in any single way. They just acted different. Sometimes they wore their clothes different. They had a couple different mannerisms. They were just
 “You two are just different.”
“Hogwash! We are exactly the same!” The lights flickered back on. George and Fred were standing in front of you with their arms crossed. Fred reached up to push back his hair. George fiddled with his ear. Nervous habits.
“See right there!” You pointed the hand holding the wand at both of them causing them to duck. “Sorry.” Quickly you shoved it back into your robe pocket.
“But what did you mean?” George tilted his head curiously.
“You. Both of you are different. You have different nervous tics.” Both boys blushed and looked to the right. You had to admit, they looked pretty similar now. George had a little scar on his nose from Quidditch practice. Fred’s blush was also a little deeper. A laugh bubbled past your lips at the absurdity. Both twins were completely different!
“What are you laughing at?”
“We are the best twins that ever twined! Our family can barely tell.” You laughed harder and doubled over to put your hands on your knees.
“Different. Both of you are just so different.” You whipped away the tears in your eyes. They both looked angry making you a little nervous now. George reached towards you and you flinched. He snatched your glasses off and began cleaning them on his robes.
“Ridiculous. George, what do we do to silence her?” Fred said before taking the glasses himself to place gently back on your nose.
“We could try becoming friends, Fred.” They were talking like you weren’t even here! You opened your mouth to say something, but they kept going.
“That’s not good enough! Friends blab all the time.”
“What are we going to do prank her into silence?!” George wiggled his fingers in his twins face. They both stood facing each other.
“No, but we could- hey where did she go?” Two heads snapped in your direction at least where you once were. An empty space and a book on the ground took up your space.
The next time the twins saw you was in potions. Most classes were separated by year, but potions was your subject. At first it came naturally, but now you just had so much practice. You didn’t care much for Snape’s attitude. However, you didn’t hate him, sometimes you’d catch moments of weakness. Those moments made him seem less like an evil villain.
Fred and George were also in your class. They were one of the few that didn’t hate you for being on Snape’s good side. Harry and Ron were always skeptical because of it.
“Hey, (Y/N)! Can you help us finish up our potion?” The class was uneven. You mostly worked alone at your bench, so it wasn’t a shocker to finish early. Also, Fred and George really needed the help. Fred’s potion was bubbling over: too much heat. George’s potion still hadn’t changed color: not enough heat. Both kept rapidly shoving in ingredients to try and solve the problem.
“Guys!” Your hands came up to grab George’s and stopping his frantic movements. “We’re supposed to be making love potions. Not crap potions.”
“Are those really a thing?” Fred had a whimsical look on his face. You quickly dropped George’s hands to grab Fred’s. “Yes, but they don’t do anything. That’s why I call it a crap potion.” You started by adjusting the temperatures, then added a couple nullifying ingredients to gets back to the baseline. Looking over your shoulder, you saw them both just staring at your ass, not your hands. George looked up with a blushed.
“Sorry, what’s happening?”
“This is going to be on the exam, you know?” You turned around to look at them both with your arms crossed.
“Don’t be mad, love. Truly, we are focusing, just not on what we need to be.” Fred said with a smirk. He grabbed your arms lightly uncrossing them with a chuckle.
“Here.” You bottled up the potion. It wasn’t a strong love potion considering where you started from, but it was something. “Use it to study and don’t mess it up this time.” You turned to grab your books and head out to charms. However, George launched himself into your path before you could. He swayed a little with a nervous smile.
“Not that we care about grades, but could you show us one more time?”
“We’ve got an idea for a brilliant prank.” You shook your head and tried to swerve around the two.
“I can’t, I have charms soon.” Before you could start to head out again, Fred spun you around to face them. George was slightly behind him holding up the book you dropped yesterday.
“See now we would give this back, but we will need that little favor first.” Huffing out in frustration, you tossed the books you were holding back on the table. Fred and George smirked then high-fived which got them a glare. They quickly put their hands behind their backs.
“Just go get the water,” despite yourself you chuckled at their attitude. Both of them started to walk over until you stopped Fred with a hand on him chest. “We just need one person besides I have another task for you.” Then began the process of making another potion
then another after George put in the wrong ingredient
then another when Fred did the exact same thing. Finally, the boys got it right.
“Ugh! Why was that so difficult?” They slumped back into their chairs sighing. It did take quite a while to get right.
“Least you know how to do it, now I have to be off!” In a rush, you picked all your books up and started to dash off to charms. You waved quickly at the two. However, once again, you left something behind: your robe. Fred plucked it off the chair you left it on.
“She’s gotta be the most forgetful Ravenclaw I’ve ever seen.”
By the time dinner came around, you were in a bad mood. You had been late to charms and were missing your robes. Ravenclaw lost 25 points. It would’ve been more, but you stayed after class to help grade papers. Now, you were hungry, tired, and had your housemates angry. George noticed your sour mood from across the hall.
“Maybe we shouldn’t do this I mean-“
“It’s okay, Georgie. The potion will wear off in a few days.”
“But who did you check with to make sure of that?”
“I know what I’m doing. (Y/N)!” You looked up witheringly from your bowl of soup. It wasn’t their fault you were late to charms, forgot you robes, or lost house points. So, you couldn’t be mad.
“We have your robes, but I left it at the table. Wanna come over and get it?” George pulled at his ear while looking away from you. Narrowing your eyes, you tried to piece together what was exactly going on. Fred just smiled and nudged him brother towards the Gryddindor table. Reluctantly, you got up, stopping in front of Fred.
“You better not do anything, Fred Weasly.”
“I wouldn’t dare,” he smirked while watching you two walk off. Once you two were turned around and far enough away, Fred darted into his robes to pull out the love potion from earlier. He emptied all of it into your soup as discreetly as possible, then slipped the empty bottle away. The soup started to turn a pale pink. Fred grabbed your spoon and stirred frantically. Two seconds before you two came back, the color dissipated. He dropped the spoon.
“Thanks for the robes, guys.” He gave George a thumbs up from behind your back. You sat down and took a large spoonful of the soup. They both quickly leaned over to try to make eye contact. Surprisingly, nothing happened. “Whatcha doing?”
“Nothing
 weird
” they said at the same time. Your eyebrows furrowed as you took another spoonful.
“Ooookay then. Bye, guys.” Slowly they inched away from the table and headed back to their own. It wasn’t the potion that was wrong, you brewed it, so what could it have been? Sitting down, they were both deep in thought.
“You guys okay?” Harry, Ron, and Hermione were shooting them weird looks from across the table. Eyes now locked on Hermione, they both leaned across to whisper yell.
“Why wouldn’t a love potion work?” Hermione smirked and shook her head.
“Cause you guys probably brewed it wrong.”
“But assuming someone knowledgeable in potions brewed it for us
?” Hermione blushed and stuttered.
“W-well, they don’t really work if there’s already feelings there.” They slowly turned to each other, then back to your table. There you were drinking the portioned up soup like nothing was wrong.

Kyojuro Rengoku x reader
The Start of Something
Tumblr media
“Shinobu, I can’t stay out in the hall.” He had lost his normal smile and his tone was laced with pleading. His wife lay on the bed covered in sweat from the past hour of work. Shinobu told him he couldn’t stay in the room after her water broke. She thought the baby wouldn’t have been too far behind.
“Okay, but hurry to her side.” Rengoku ran across the room instantly not sparing Shinobu a glance.
“Kyo, why are you here?” He knelt on the bed and grabbed your hand in both of his. Rengoku looked worried.
“You’ve been in pain for so long
I-I couldn’t wait outside any longer.” He helped you sit up and went behind you to support your back.
“Unfortunately, you still aren’t fully dilated and the baby is still a little crooked. I think we were right about you having twins.”
“TWINS?!”
“Kyo, calm down, it’s only a possibility don’t get too excited. Shinobu doesn’t normally do this, you know.” You patted his hand and then groaned with another contraction. Shinobu back away from the edge of your bed to come and shift your hips.
“We might have to think about a different position.” Rengoku gave her a quizzically look and you groaned.
“Please, Shinobu, I can’t.” You sounded breathless. Rengoku had seen you in pain before during training or after missions. Still it was nothing like this. It was a pain you were willingly going through for your future together. A pain he couldn’t help with. One he couldn’t ease. You threw your head back into his shoulder with another more pain contraction. Your hands dug into his knees and Shinobu turned your head to make eye contact.
“Remember, breathe with me.”
“Shut
up!” Even though you said that, you still tried to breathe with her for the next few minutes.
“Rengoku, stay here.” He looked at her panicked.
“Where are you going?!”
“I heard ice helps, so I’m going to go get some.” You nodded and leaned back into him.
“We’ll be okay. Just hurry back.” She left the room quickly, but you heard her slow down in the hallway. She deserved this small break anyways.
“What’s going on? My mother’s birth to Senjuro was quite quick and this talk of twins?!”
“Don’t worry, Kyojuro. Shinobu said this is common. She discussed the twin thing with me a while ago, but I forgot to tell you.” You smiled up at him sheepishly as another smaller contraction came over you. He growled lightly in annoyance at his carelessness while holding your hands.
“I should’ve been here more often. It isn’t your fault.”
“You had missions. We were already down a slayer.” He placed his head on your shoulder still disappointed in himself.
“Is there anything I can do now?”
“What you’re doing is enough.” You brought his hand up to kiss it and Shinobu came back into the room with more blankets. Aoi behind her with a cup of ice.
“Shinobu said she might need help.” She looked nervous. Probably due to the large, worried hashira behind you.
“It’s okay, Aoi. This is a good experience for you.” You smiled at her and groaned loudly again. Aoi dropped a few ice cubes from the cup into the water bowl beside the bed. She grabbed the towel inside, ringing it out before putting it on your forehead. She looked behind you nervously. Rengoku mentally slapped himself for not noticing it there sooner. He looked like he was glaring at the bowl. Aoi gently reached over to give you an ice cube which you gratefully took. The heat of your mouth melted it in what felt like seconds. You panted and gripped his hands harder.
“Can’t she do total concentration breathing?”
“It’s hard to do that in this state. This is different from a normal type of injury you may experience.” Shinobu answered his question patiently then lifted the sheets at the end of the bed again.
“Shinobu
” You glanced down at her. To Rengoku, it looked like you two were having some weird silent conversation.
“Ok, Aoi, get ready it’s time for her to push.” Aoi removed the rag from your head and put it in the bowl. She dragged over a basin from the corner and collected the blankets and towels.
“Just do what your body tells you.” You nodded and shifted into the position Shinobu taught you. Then you gripped Rengoku’s hands, he looked confused but he gave you a nod. Everything happened so quickly. You were screaming and crushing his hands making him groan. Shinobu was shouting encouragement, so he did the same. You’d take breaks here and there, but mostly it was you straining. You started crying from exertion which was something he’d never seen you do. It was so hectic until you both heard it. A piercing cry and you leaned back in relief. Aoi shifted towards the basin to start washing the baby off.
“What is the baby, Shinobu?” Rengoku was straining back and forth to try and see. She giggled while starting to clean up. Removing the towel under you.
“A boy, but you can’t rest for too long. I know for sure another is coming.” You groaned and Rengoku grabbed the towel to put on your head, then handed you the cup of ice. Aoi handed the baby to Shinobu to wrap up. She then came over to both of you. He was beautiful. He had little tuffs of Rengoku hair on his head. He was still wailing, so Shinobu passed him down to you then took the cup. Your mouth still had ice chips in it, so you couldn’t speak, but you didn’t have much to say anyways.
“He looks like me.” Rengoku whispered in your ear surprising the other two in the room. They thought he was always loud. You laughed and ran a hand over the baby’s head.
“I’m pretty sure every boy we have will look like you.” He hummed in response and the baby opened his eyes to look up at you both. He even had the Rengoku eyes.
“Least he has your nose.”
“I’m glad he has one of my traits!”
“I like your nose!” You laughed as he lightly traced his finger down the baby’s nose. You must’ve been looking down at the baby for a while because moments later you felt pain again.
“Aoi, please take the baby.” Rengoku looked confused until he saw your face. Your arms shook as you transferred the baby over to her. You were trying your best not to squeeze him. Shinobu got back into position and rubbed your knee.
“Don’t worry, from everything I’ve read this one should be easier.” Easier was correct. You pushed this baby out in three pushes. Shinobu took this crying baby, bundled and cleaned it herself. Rengoku reached out for the first baby so Aoi could help her. Passing the baby off to Aoi, she checked on you. She grabbed a bag from the corner of the bed.
“Everything good, Shinobu?”
“Just some tearing, but you’ll only need a couple of stitches.” She held up a needle and you looked away. You held onto Rengoku’s knee and looked the baby in his arms. Trying to ignore what Shinobu was doing. Aoi came over with the second baby who wasn’t really crying anymore.
“Another boy.” She smiled as she placed him in your arms. This baby looked just like his brother. You shouldn’t have expected anything less. The two Rengoku brother’s looked so similar and they weren’t twins after all.
“I thought I’d at least have ages to tell them apart by.” You winced as you felt Shinobu tug on your skin. She looked up at you apologetically.
“I’m sure only the Rengoku’s will be able to tell them apart.”
“That’s not true! They’ll have different personalities for you to tell them apart by.”
“You and Shinjuro use to act very similar.” Kyojuro froze a little behind you. His father wasn’t a kind man, but you had always made him soften in private. At least that’s what you claimed, but his father had softened slightly at your presence in the house. Hearing about his father was still difficult. Shinobu stood up to replace the towel beneath you again.
“You should try to rest, the boys will be hungry later.” You shook your head at her.
“I couldn’t possibly be worn out by this you should see the-“ Aoi quickly covered her ears with a wide blush and you laughed. “Aoi, I was talking about training!” Kyojuro laughed lightly from behind you at the girl’s face. You heard some ruckus from out in the hallway next and Shinobu went over to look. You could barely see from behind her and she was holding the door as closed as she could.
“Ah, that might be my bad. In my worry, I think I scared quite a few people in the hallway.” You looked back at him questioningly until Sumi, Kiyo, and Naho came rushing in with tears in their eyes.
“We thought you died.”
“Your scary hashira wouldn’t let us check.”
“You’ve been in here for so long.” Though they spoke fast, they all kept pretty quiet. They glanced into your arms to look at the boy and Sumi’s eyes widened as she looked past you.
“There’s two?” The other two girls looked over, still avoiding Kyojuro’s gaze. Naho reached out, but pulled back after remembering that Shinobu told them not to touch the babies.
“Would you like a minute alone with ‘your scary hashira’?” Shinobu came up behind the girls. Aoi had cleared the blankets and such out of the room. Before you could say you didn’t mind the company, Kyojuro answered.
“The scary hashira wouldn’t mind.” He chuckled and leaned his mouth into your shoulder, hiding his grin, to teasingly glare at the three girls. They immediately scattered and you lightly elbowed him as best as you could. The baby in his arms started crying and you both traded. Worried it was your fault, you tried to hush him the best you could until the other started crying. You sighed as it finally clicked.
“I think I know the issue.” You blushed at Kyojuro’s curious stare. Not that you weren’t an open couple, but this was your first time breastfeeding and now there was two. You watched it click in his eyes and he glanced down at your breasts. There was only a loose sarashi on your upper half that you could easily slide down.
“Need help?” He smirked when you blushed more.
“Just hand me your haori please.” He got up carefully, with one hand still holding the baby, to grab it and wrap it around your shoulders as you slowly shuffled back to rest on the headboard. The two were still crying and you glared at his piercing eyes. “Turn around for a second.” He chuckled, but didn’t push the issue further. The boy in your hand quickly latched on and you let yourself get used to the uncomfortable feeling. Putting a pillow under your arm and the baby, you turned to set up the other side and cover yourself. “Okay.” Kyojuro turned around and hesitated a second before handing you the other. You blushed again as you felt your husband watch your movements. It didn’t help that your second son seemed to be more difficult.
“You look beautiful like that. Especially in my haori, I wish we had a camera.” He came over to comb your hair back as you focused. Finally the second boy got the hint and you sighed happily, tilting your head back to look up at Kyojuro.
“I did it!” Your eyes had slight tears in them and a small smile graced your face. Past that, at his angle, Kyojuro could see your sons below and the flame haori slipped down your shoulders framing you all perfectly. His breath hitched and a real, softer smile graced his own features.
“Keep looking at me like that and I’ll fill you with two more.”
“Kyojuro!” He smirked down at you this time and continued to brush the knots out of your hair. “Shinobu told me that they’ll be really hungry at first, so I’ll be here for a while.” He hummed in acknowledgement and sat on the edge of the bed to watch the two boys.
“Have you thought of names?”
“No, have you?”
“All I know is they have to end with -juro.”
“We might as well just name one Juro.” You sighed and Kyojuro looked down at the two seriously. “Wait no, you will all get confused if we do that!”
“This is going to take more thought than I originally planned.”
“Hojuro?”
“How do you even spell that?”
“I have no idea.” You both laughed. The day was finally starting to wear on you and you were getting tired. Kyojuro leaned in to kiss the top of your head.
“You can try to sleep. I’m sure you’re exhausted, my love.”
“I don’t want to leave you alone. What if they finish and get fussy? Or they fall off and need help back on? Or-“
“I’m sure we will be fine. I can wake you up if anything happens and Shinobu is always here if I have questions.” You nodded slowly and he pulled you forwards a bit to shove a couple pillows behind your back.
“Don’t forget to burp them when they are done and don’t leave them in the room with me on the bed.” He gave you a withering look and sighed gently.
“I have a little brother, you know? These are all things I am familiar with.” You smiled at him in apology as he helped you get more comfortable. At least the most comfortable you could get while mostly sitting up and having two babies eagerly eating. Once you were set up and Kyojuro assured you multiple times he knew what to do, you fell asleep.
When you woke up, Kyojuro, the babies, and your bindings were missing. Leaving you basically naked and alone in bed. You tried to sit up, but your back ached and your nipples rubbing against the sheets hurt. On the bedside table was a warm cup of tea that you slowly sipped at, looking out the open window. It smelled a lot better in here, but you couldn’t say the same for yourself. You’d have to take a bath after getting out of bed. Your stomach growled and you sighed. Nothing was taken care of and it was only day one. You heard the babies crying from somewhere in the hallway and shifted to get up with the haori over your shoulders. The sound was coming from a little ways down the hall and you could hear the girls panicking a little. Probably deciding how to wake you. You shuffled closer to the slightly open door.
“I’m guessing I know the problem?” You opened the door wider to see Kyo with one baby and the other in Aoi’s arms. Aoi almost scolded you for walking after something so major, but you just toddled over to her for the baby. She looked away with a blush at your naked abdomen.
“I’m glad to see you. They haven’t been crying long, but you also haven’t been sleeping for too long.” You turned and sat on the empty bed. Cooing at the baby, you guided him under the haori and started the process again. This one was the tentative latcher.
“Here, Kyo, bring the other over.” He quickly came over and kneeled in front of you. Making sure the haori covered everything, this baby latched on immediately like last time. His brother seemed to get the hint a minute after that. You hissed lightly at the pain. Sumi and Aoi rushed to your side almost shoving your husband out of the way.
“What can we get for you? Are you in pain?” Sumi just gave you a determined look as Aoi spoke.
“I’m just a little sore. Shinobu mentioned a cream if you could ask her about that,” Sumi ran out of the room. “I could also use breakfast if you don’t mind.” Aoi nodded and this time as she turned to run past she actually did push Kyojuro over. He laughed as you both listened to her bounding down the stairs.
“Everyone is so excited to have a hashira’s baby at the estate, I think they would fight me if you asked.”
“Don’t doubt them, Kyo. I’m sure they could take you in your state.” You looked over him. He was
dirty and he looked a little tired. He has stayed up for missions before though so he wasn’t that bad off. He knelt back in front of you.
“You’re right, if it was what you wanted, I’d let them win.” His hands slid up your legs and he looked up at you lovingly. The door opened a little wider behind him and Shinobu came in.
“Interrupting something?”
“I just had a baby! Why does everyone keep talking about adding another?” The shyer baby popped off and you handed him to Rengoku to burp.
“You were staring at each other for like ten minutes.”
“Really?” Your eyebrows furrowed in thought as she came up to you with a small jar.
“The cream, but I suggest you both take a bath first.”
“Preferably together.” You would’ve kicked him for that comment if he wasn’t holding your child.
“Who will watch the boys?”
“About that-“ Senjuro burst into the room making you quickly grip the haori closed tighter.
“Kyojuro, I couldn’t wait longer!” Senjuro rushed towards his brother, but didn’t hug him mindful of the baby. Shinjuro sheepishly stepped in after him. The other boy was finally done and you raised him up to burp. The white haori didn’t leave much to the imagination and the boys blushed before looking away. Senjuro was the most red of all making you chuckle.
“Twins? You have your hands full. Raising one is hard enough.” Shinjuro came over to ruffle your hair, but stopped himself. “You haven’t taken a bath have you?”
“Shinjuro, nothing gets past you does it?” He turned his head away from you as you stood up then stuck out his hands awkwardly.
“You shouldn’t be walking around with a baby so soon after giving birth.” His face has a light blush over it and you lightly placed the baby in his hands.
“We haven’t picked any names yet, but this one seems like most like Kyo.” Shinjuro just held the baby close and looked down at it. You could see Kyojuro tense up in the corner of your eye, but his father wouldn’t do anything. That’s at least what you believed.
“Have you at least thought of any names?” Senjuro asked excitedly from in front of Kyojuro. The baby in his arms reached out for Senjuro.
“Juro?” Kyojuro flashed you a quick smile while saying it.
“I’m not naming one of our sons Juro!”
“Go bathe and talk about names, it reeks in here.” Shinjuro mumbled out with a scowl, but it quickly softened when the baby in his arms gripped his outstretched finger.
“Senjuro, come sit on the bed and Kyo can hand you the baby.” You patted the bed and shuffled away so Shinjuro could sit as well if he wanted. Senjuro quickly hurried over and stuck out his hands. Kyojuro guided him in how to hold the baby making sure both were comfortable.
“You got it, you’ll be a great uncle!” Kyojuro praised and patted Senjuro’s head lightly. Kyojuro then stepped away and swept you off the ground carefully.
“I can walk there.” You threw your hands around his shoulders and pouted.
“I have no doubt you could, but this is far more fun. We’ll be back shortly!” He started heading towards the door and you looked back at the two.
“Sure you will,” Shinjuro mumbled and sat down on the bed next to his son.
“I heard that!” You pointed a finger at him threateningly and Kyojuro closed the door. “I’m a demon slayer. A respected slayer!” Your husband hummed happily and he walked to the bath. You sat mumbling and pouting at how everyone was treating you.
Once he opened the door and a slight steam spilled out, you couldn’t help by sigh. Kyojuro chuckled at your reaction, carefully setting you on the side of the tub.
“You’ve done all the work so far. I know you can take care of yourself, but let me a least do it for today.” Before you could reply he swung his shirt over his head, tossing it into the bin by the door. He looked as perfect as ever. Scars tracing over his abs and chest, light bruises from training. You bit your lip and turned away from his gaze as he leaned in front of you to grasp the waistband of your pants. “Can’t forget about this.” He used one hand to pull the haori off you and toss it somewhere exposing your breasts. Leaning lower so his mouth touched your ear, he lifted you gently to pull the pants down. “A much better view.” He kissed your neck then your collar bone, lightly tracing his lips over your breasts as he knelt to remove the pants completely.
“Kyojuro, we can’t do anything, Shinobu said-“
“Who said anything about doing something? Can’t I just admire my wife?” He kissed the inside of your knee as he lightly traced his hands up your tights to grip your underwear. Once he moved them down, you covered yourself with your hand.
“Kyojuro, I’m a mess. Allow me the dignity of not letting you see.” He stood up slowly and turned your head with his hand to make eye contact.
“If that is what you wish.” He undid his pants and dropped them with his undergarments. You avoided looking down and he chuckled before walking around you to stand in the bath. “You can look.”
“It doesn’t seem fair.” You took his outstretched hands and stepped into the tub. He sat down first to help guide you onto his lap. The hot water felt delightful but it also hurt. You hissed it pain as you fully sat down. You leaned your head back so he could wet your hair. Usually at the Rengoku estate, you two bathed together. It wasn’t a sexual thing. It was more about the act of caring for each other in every way. Especially after you’d spent a while apart on missions, he wouldn’t let you bathe alone at those times unless you specifically asked. That also wasn’t to say that the Rengoku bath never got any action. Kyojuro was a relentless man and, being honest, so were you. Both of you hadn’t been trying to start a family after all.
You hummed a song as Kyojuro washed your hair, before helping you do his. You swatted his hands away multiple times to do it yourself, but he was hell bent on babying you. He washed your upper half carefully next. His hands being extra careful of your tender breasts. He left the lower half to you, but did insist on washing your legs. When you shifted to wash him next, he just kissed the top of your head and set you back.
“W-wait, I can do it!”
“Just sit back and relax while the water is still nice.” He’d already started and you sighed. Watching him do it made you envy him.
“Can I at least do your back?” He nodded and turned around for you. You got up to kiss his neck, pressing your breasts into his back. His hand on the side of the tub gripped it harder as you peppered kisses down his back while washing. When his back was lathered, you hugged him from behind again and traced your hands up his sides.
“You’re testing me today.”
“Just a little training.” You kissed the spot behind his ear and started to rinse off his back. He groaned in response making you giggle as you finished up. If it was any other time, then he wouldn’t have let you get away with that. You stood up out of the bath and carefully got out. His eyes were boring into your back and he watched you put on a nice yukata Shinobu left. “I’m assuming you need to stay behind?” You smirked over your shoulder at him still in the tub then opened the door and slipped out into the hallway. You headed down the hall to go greet your new family.
