if you were a god, who would you want to annoy the living shit out of... and why?
the gods are bored. they've all memorised every possible opening in chess. endgames of weiqi are a tedium. and, worst of all, the god of sofa cracks has lost the dice so no-one can play snakes and ladders. thus, they've turned to poker…or at least a version of it.
the gods must be bored is a collaborative storytelling rpg where you play as your own self-made deity. you'll use poker hands to influence the world or individuals. the goal is whatever you want it to be, and the game ends whenever you're ready for it to be over... or when the gods are bored and want to play with some other foolish mortal's life.
made as part of the 2022 one-page rpg jam, the only things required to play are the rules and a deck of cards.
