Do Mariner and Lain have some implied romantic tension? It seems like that in some of their toyhouse pictures! Or is that all just jokes
Oh, that's a lot of holdovers from when i just started developing the story! They were gonna have a slowburn tragic romance and then as the story developed into a full shape that idea kinda...died lol. I'd say they got Something going on but it's not a normal romantic relationship.
Just generally take anything outside of the comic itself with a grain of salt bc details and such can change very easily!

Simple Scene: $150+
Scene drawing that focuses more on color/composition and vibes than a lot of details. Base price is $150 but can be more based on the amount of characters (more than 2 will raise the price) as well as complexity of bg+characters. References such as composition mockup/moodboards/environments is greatly appreciated for this commission.

Politics, power, and control are uneasy and ever changing, as Lain is forced to get used to his new life.

OC Kiss Week Day 2: Rain
This also technically counts as their first kiss too! When you're caught out in the rain waiting for the bus because the biker chick's motorcycle broke down
below is another little scene to match this. I don't like it as much as yesterdays but that's life!
“I’M FUCKING COLD!” Sage whined, as they wrapped their arms around themself. Fable, sitting beside them on the bench, huffed her agreement.
The night had NOT gone the way Sage had planned it to go. They were going to get a movie, get some food, and maybe hangout at the lake. Sage even got Caleb—after so much goddamn convincing—to agree to cover for them. As far as Sage’s parents knew, they were just seeing a movie with Caleb.
It was going to be like a real proper date for the two of them.
(Though it wasn't technically that, Sage hadn't crossed that threshold with Fable yet)
What they had NOT predicted was Fable’s motorcycle breaking down right after the movie. The tow truck man had offered Fable a ride back to their motel, but she had decided to stay to not leave Sage stranded (which Sage did appreciate). Sage thought that maybe they could turn this night around, but THEN it started torrential fucking downpouring while they were waiting for the bus.
So now, here was Sage; tired, cold, upset and wet (and not in the way they had hoped to be).
“Here,” Fable said. She shook her head to clear the curtain of drooped hair in her face and removed her leather jacket. Sage’s eyes widened a little bit as it revealed her upper arms and shoulders. She draped the coat over Sage’s shoulders. Sage pulled that tight around themself. It didn't offer much warmth but it was better than nothing.
“This sucks,” Sage said. “It was going to be fun tonight and all this stupid luck just fucked everything up!”
“I had fun,” Fable replied.
“Glad you did,” Sage snorted. “but I had PLANS! And they all got ruined because of this and that!”
“Hmm,” Fable hummed. Her eyes were glued down the road. Probably keeping a look out for the bus. “Well, this isn't how I thought it would go either, but I had a fine time tonight. Spending time with you is always…interesting.”
“That's a compliment?”
“It is,” she turned back to face Sage. “You're the reason I’ve stuck around in town for so long for so long.”
“Oh.” Was all Sage was able to say before Fable leaned forward and brought her lips to theirs. Nerves fired off in shock for a moment before leaning forward and kissing Fable back, perhaps with too much enthusiasm.
Sage didn't want this to ever end, they decided. They’d kissed people before, football players and Trish to name a few, but they weren't like kissing Fable. Fable was so delicate with them, like she was scared she was going to shatter them. Sage just needed to show her that wasn't a worry. They reached out a hand to grasp at Fable’s shirt, and she groaned against their mouth.
Well THAT was fun!
But it stopped almost as soon as it started, Fable pulling back. Sage felt a little dazed, blinking a few times, as sickly light washed over their face as the bus churned towards them. For a moment they were actually upset to be getting out of the rain.
“We can continue at the motel.” A smile spread across Fable’s face as she stood up. She offered a hand to Sage. “if you would like.”
She really didn't even need to ask Sage. Maybe this night wouldn't be so shitty after all.

OC Kiss Week Day 1: Almost
hehehehe Very excited to draw some oc kissies this week! Starting off with Sage and Fable my Lovelies.
Also going to try to write little things for all of them, but we'll see!!
“I’m working right now, Sage,” Fable whispered through her teeth. Sage inched up to her closer, clearly not deterred at all by Fable’s words.
“I know,” Sage replied, the corners of their mouth perked up in a devilish smile. “But no one ever comes to this part of the garden, and there's tons of trees so no one’ll see if we kiss a little bit.”
Sage got up on their tip toes and pressed their chest against Fable’s, pinning the rake she had been using between them. She sighed.
Fable did want to kiss Sage, her body heating up at the mere proximity to them, but now really wasn't the best time. If they were caught she'd be fired by Sage’s parents and forced to leave Bottomwood Pine. Normally that wouldn't bother her—Fable liked to wander—but she’d been making an honest effort to stay in town longer, just for the annoying little dork who was trying so hard to kiss them at present. She wanted to be with them so dearly, and didn't want to cut their relationship short. It was really too much to risk.
And yet…
“If I kiss you once will you leave me to work?” Fable said, losing the battle in her mind. Sage was close enough now that she could feel their breath on their face.
“I can't promise I won't want more…” Sage said, grabbing onto the front of Fable’s shirt. Their half lidded eyes met Fable’s
Fable wasn't falling for that though.
“Sage.”
“Fine, whatever, sure,” Sage huffed, any earlier air of trying to be sexy gone. “fuck me for wanting to have some fun.”
Fable closed her eyes and tilted her head down to meet Sage’s lips. She was fully prepared for Sage to make this much longer than the peck Fable intended it to be.”
“SAGE!!”
Fable flinched back at the sound of Sage’s father’s voice, the ghost of a kiss on her lips. Her heart stopped for a moment, scared that he had saw them, before registering that it was much farther away. Sage took a step back and groaned loudly into the open air.
“Sage! Your mother and I want to talk to you!” His voice rang out again.
“UUUUUUUGH, this is bullshit,” Sage complained. They scratched their head rapidly in annoyance. Fable smiled, despite the lingering anxiety.
“Better go see what Bill wants,” she said. Another aggravated growl from Sage. Fable bent forward and kissed Sage on top of their head in the soft curls of their hair. Sage relaxed a little, and turned back to Fable.. “I’ll meet you by the lake tonight, we can continue this there.
“Okay…” Sage sighed, before turning away, leaving Fable back to her work.
