Selina
The sun hid timidly behind the clouds that day
Her heart fluttering at the pool of her stomach
Her rays shone through the haze in bits and pieces
Like fairies playing hide and seek between blossoms I danced down the concrete river as a ballerina
Leaping across stepping stones and landing peacefully on my toes
Her words weaved a picture of peace beyond understanding
Rolling off her pen as smoothly as my tears did onto the page It was not the envelope
Kissed with a bright seal inviting me to unlock the secrets whispered between her words It was not the paper
Skin of blown dandelion in the wind carrying all her wishes to me
A spell chosen carefully and filled with arcane intention
Guiding my beating heart to the same rhythm of the tides
Every movement of my tongue as I spoke it out loud felt like ribbons in water
Feeling a little more of the moon each time my fingers skimmed the surface
My tears came at the behest of a baltering heart
As she had signed the love letter with her name

Burnt Petals
I am the tinted pink a sunset makes on a basket of peaches.
Plucked fresh and made refreshing.
Turned into iced tea sipped on a hot day, sitting in the country listening to songs of the morning
She is the shaded red covering a cola bottle.
Bitter carbonation overflowing her cup.
She smells like the outside, feels wet from passing rain, and sounds like crunching leaves.
She is the freeing mist and the suffocating fog.
Cigarette smoke with a taste lost to time.
I am the flowers picked with no pattern in shape or color.
Pressed between the pages of a book to mark a page on lost love languages, leftover petals pressed into the wax seals of blushing letters.
We are the silent adoration for abandoned homes.
Eyebags on 10 hours of sleep from tearless sobbing.
I have the kisses that heal cuts.
She has the kisses that don’t.

Valentine
A doe rests in a field, a floral envelope relieving her aching bones
There isn’t a sound to be heard except the flowing stream lulling her to sleep
She looks around for a moment and smiles
Her vision blurred but surroundings serene
Her eyes finally close and she drifts into dreams
Her heart falling like the petals plucked off a single pale rose
Laid at the feet of someone who knows that they are loved.

Muse, a Poem for my Girlfriend
You are the bright honey that overflows from my cup like liquid sunshine, making each sip I take a taste of the heavens.
Pale skin like melting snow, freckled with the first blooming buds of the spring.
Blue eyes with the mysterious beauty of the ocean, reflecting the warm rays of the sun on all who look.
Each movement comforting like gentle waves of lace.
Dandelion locks curled by the fingers of cherubs.
Every tear rolled down your cheek is a dewdrop fallen from the love yous and love you nots.
But when I'm with you, love languages are the only languages I can speak.

Empyrean
I'm a fallen angel cast to earth after falling in love with the bright yellow sunshine, moth colored mushrooms, and dandelion tea.
My wings are that of a butterfly. Fresh and new.
She is the devil, the burns on her feet soothed by the dewy grass as she pursues me, the scent of flowers drowning out the smoke from her nose.
We’re alone in this world of ours.
Together we lay in silence, our intertwined hands and the peaceful flowing stream saying more than words ever could.

A Mothers Love
The sky cries with rain, tears of joy watering the lavender as it gently tosses and turns in its sleep.
The moon giving each petal the shimmering pallor of a fair maiden waiting to be awakened by the kiss of sunrise.
All that stirs is but nature making her way through the rows, bent at the knee as her fingertips barely graze each plant.
In a nearby town raindrops tap on glass like the pebbles thrown by lovers.
Only too soft to wake the sleeping creatures.
Even though the beasts inside deflower nature, stripping her to her bones, she does not harm them.
She uses all she has to sweetly lull them to sleep.
As she is their first mother.
In the morning the young of the great beasts will trample over and pick her flowers, but she forgives them.
She knows that when they grow up, they will avenge her.
 And she is happy.

This Is Peace
Sunrays dance around your body before tying themselves tightly around your heart like pastel ribbons.
It makes you dizzy but you'll never want to focus on anything again, anything but how what is shall forever be.
The oppressive sun beams down on you but the dawn is no longer your enemy, it greets you as you begin your day. Hazy eyed as you may be.
You seem to be with your head in the clouds, feet floating slightly off the grass but close enough for your toes to be tickled by the dew drops.
You look into puddles the rain left behind and smile, even though the ripples distort your features you've never felt more beautiful.
 This is peace.
