Yahoo Answers was legendary because there were no gatekeepers!! Just people talking to people. No publishers, no librarians, no mods, no fact checkers or any mf primary sources, just the pure unbridled thoughts of a population, the pouring out of our id onto the internet, the rambling of some guy at 3am at a college party while you’re high off ketamine
this was the people’s space!! yes, the people are stupid but you may keep your library of Alexandria, keep your bougie Wikipedia where things are largely correct, you may have your Snopes fact checking

i found out that Robin Williams was paid $75,000 for voicing the Genie in Aladdin, which went on to gross over $504 million worldwide.
Disney later sent him a late Picasso painting (estimated at the time to be worth $1 million) as a way of thanking him for his work.

Bernard the Elf Headcanons
He’s obviously very hard working.
He probably overworks himself a lot without noticing.
Probably isn’t good with relationships because of this.
It takes a long time to actually get to know him.
He’s gotten used to being tired all of the time.
He will go to sleep if he is extremely tired.
It’s nearly impossible to wake him up when he does sleep.
Definitely gets the “ How’s the weather up there?” jokes.
Usually, these jokes come from the younger elves.
He’ll smile or smirk.
Sometimes he’ll chuckle and roll his eyes.
He probably likes to cook.
He’s been alive for a while and probably knows a lot of recipes.
He doesn’t really get to, though, because of his job.
It takes a lot to be the Head Elf, after all.
He likes to read during his spare time.
He probably likes to read about mythology.
He also has reading glasses.
They’re just simple glasses with thin wire frames.
He won’t wear them in the workshop.
He only wears them at his house or in his office.
He likes to keep his thoughts and feeling to himself unless it is work related.
Like, he won’t tell anyone his personal thoughts and opinions about anything personal.
Sometimes he might, but that’s only if he absolutely has to.
He feels isolated from the rest of the elves.
He’s taller and probably older than all of the others.
He would probably overshare information to anyone if he was extremely tired and/or intoxicated.
Probably wouldn’t drink much or at all because of this.
Would be one of Neil’s patients if he wasn’t busy all the time.
He likes plants and flowers, but he doesn’t have the time to take care of them properly.
He has a few little succulents instead.
It’s not uncommon for him to talk to them every now and then.
Like, he’ll rant to them about his day at work and how far behind quota they are.
Definitely ranted to them about Scott refusing to become Santa.
Probably celebrates Hanukkah instead of Christmas.
Probably thinks it’s ironic that he doesn’t celebrate Christmas when he is the Head Elf at the North Pole.
