YES I’ve been saying this since Endgame aired. Obviously AOS cemented that OG timeline had Peggy and Sousa separate before the 50s. We also then have old Peggy’s dementia making her forget Steve came back. People with Dementia can often recall details from decades prior but short term memory isn’t the best. So the fact that she was so happily to see Steve again says to me that the original timeline DIDN’T have Steve go back.
My theory: Steve goes back to the past to be with Peggy and returns to the present in the original timeline at a point of convergence, OR he enlists the help of alternate timeline avengers to get him back to that specific point.
IDK, don’t think the russo’s though that far ahead tbh
Can Fitz’s explanation about how the team get back to the original timeline be apply to Steve Rogers going an old man to Bucky and Sam?
One thinks if Steve stayed back in the past with the knowledge he had, he would have try to save Bucky from being brainwashed and tortured, the Starks from being killed by Bucky or SHIELD from being infiltrated by HYDRA.
The fact that he re-appears at the original timeline as an old guy, always bother me because it kept me thinking, Steve could have change all of that but you’re telling me he did nothing???
But if you think that by staying back with Peggy he started a parallel timeline, maybe he did save Bucky, Howard, etc on that one?

Where were you in life when you first started watching AOS?
Holy hell so it took until 2014 for it to start airing here in Australia (i think? It stopped airing in early 2014) and I remember trying to watch what I could before going to see Captain America: The Winter Solider in the cinemas. I fell off it a little while but I wanted to watch it again because I was missing out on something connected to the MCU so I got the first season for my birthday at the end of that year when it came out. I was in grade 9 in 2014, grade 8 in 2013.
Where are you now?
My second year of college. It’s crazy AOS has been a show with me through the majority of my high school and the beginnings of my adult life.
What character development arc (or storyline in general) did you love the most?
Fitz in season 4 and 5 were honestly amazing. I’m such a sucker for the good guys gone bad trope lol.
What will you miss the most?
What won’t I miss? This show is literally amazing and I’m sad that this is the end. We’ve had a good run but fingers crossed for seeing Daisy in the MCU. Or even a cameo from May or someone.

So I’ve decided to delete a lot of things.
Tumblr being one of them. Though I’ll do that after the AOS finale.
But also AO3 - eventually (still got one fic to post)
Reasoning is, I’m an adult and I just don’t feel so connected to this stuff anymore. I don’t want to worry about getting a fic updated just for people to read when I have so much other stuff to do. I also don’t want to engage with the sheer toxicity of tumblr because so many people here just suck - sorry.
Anyway, i’m giving some notice but by the end of the week I’m going on a social media cleanse and just - deleting tumblr. AO3 will follow by the end of the year.
