On the list of things ABSOLUTELY NOBODY HAS EVER ASKED ME FOR. Here’s the dialogue from the TV show that the Young family are watching in Episode 3, before Adam heads off for an early night.
LADS I DON'T THINK YOU REALISE HOW AMAZING SHIRLEY ANNE BINGHAM IS
Doctor Who, one of the biggest TV shows in the country, just showed an ambulatory wheelchair user getting out of her wheelchair to transfer to a desk chair. They showed a disabled person getting up out of her wheelchair. On national television.
AND THEY EVEN BUILT IT INTO THE SCRIPT!!!
They don't just mention it in passing, they write it into a tirade of hate which is explicitly written to be extreme, unfair, and absolutely wrong.
It’s been nearly three weeks since SAG-AFTRA‘s talks with the video game industry broke down, but a power-up is on the horizon. The union said today that negotiations for a new Interactive Media Agreement will continue. But as for when — stay tuned.
Bargaining “will continue with new dates to be released as soon as they are determined,” SAG-AFTRA said. The union’s 160,000-strong membership voted overwhelmingly on last month to authorize a strike against 10 of the major video game companies.
Many of the issues involved in the union’s three-month film and TV strike are common to those in the video game contract, including wages and artificial intelligence.
The Good Omens fandom on tumblr is so special to me because one post will essentially be a poetic, philosophical analysis of a 5-second shot and the very next post would read as “do you think Aziraphale would say grace before giving Crowley head?”
When the apocalypse is averted and they’re sitting at the bus stop at nighttime and aziraphale mentions the bookshop and crowley says “it burned down, remember”. And when he says, “you can stay at my place, if you like”. His voice is so soft. He is so gentle. He doesn’t have a side anymore, they’re on their own side, and crowley is free to be. And immediately he chooses to be — that. Generous. Kind. Warm. Open. Almost tender. Three years later he’s a married retired goth gay who wears turtlenecks
I just noticed an easy to miss little thing. Season 1, Ep. 1, 26:40.
Crowley is forced to call Aziraphale from a public phone to arrange a meeting because he brought down the London mobile phone network.
When he hangs up the phone, there is a little clink.
The sound of a coin dropping into the coin return tray.
You see, in the olden days, sometimes a person would put in a coin that got rejected for whatever reason, and it would fall through to the coin return. People would sometimes walk away and forget to retrieve their rejected coin. Some people even left them on purpose.
It was a regular, expected thing that if you were using a public phone, you'd check the coin return to see if anyone left something in there. It was automatic -- you pick up the phone, stick your finger the coin return, then dig around in your own pocket.
If you were lucky, you'd find a coin, and you'd use it to make your call.
Sometimes, you really needed to make a call, but you didn't have any coins. So, you'd check the coin return and pray someone had left a coin for you.
Went to my first live music show in a very very very long time. Like I'm thinking 10 years. So good for the soul. I forgot how much live music feeds my soul. Totally worth feeling 90 yrs old today.
