I’ve been thinking about the time after Blackbeard got on the revenge when the Spanish was nearly upon them, and Ed asked Stede if he knew Spanish after Stede said they could try to talk to them. Why didn’t he just say “no I don’t but Jim does so I’ll just send them”. Problem solved.

Stede would definitely try to organize a spa day at the revenge. The crew getting facials and taking turns to massage each other. Swimming near a beach. Having it being really chill until someone gets bored and blows something up.

I’m guessing Jim learned to read and write Spanish from nana and not their parents. And because of that I can’t stop imagining nana teaching Jim to read and write in the morning and knife work in the afternoon and go from “sound it out and see if you can spell it” to “let’s see how many knives you can fit into that dummy’s face”.
