I don't really know how to articulate this, but I don't really see a lot of talk about deliberately staying in contact with family who has really hurt you and probably will never stop hurting you, so THEY aren't isolated by their abuser. Like, being a complete nightmare is one of the tactics they use to continually isolate my family member, and I choose to put up with mistreatment, and I choose to do it in the least threatening manner I can so I'm not a top priority candidate to get the boot. There's honestly not a lot I can do for this person, and it's not really my responsibility, but I want to do this for them, so I will until I'm forced not to.

Saw a post claiming that trans men who don't pass still benefit from the patriarchy because male names are more likely to have favorable responses on job applications. Do they not realize a large amount of trans men have non-traditional names, many of which are neutral or even traditionally feminine leaning (Exhibit A: myself. being trans is so fucking expensive no matter how you identify, epecially if you're dysphoric and pursue social and/or medical transition. name changes. hormones. hormone blockers. surgeries. shaving products. the Pink Tax on everything feminine. makeup. starting your wardrobe over from scratch. finding clothes that don't make you feel like you wanna crawl out of your own skin, but also fit you. prescriptions, vitamins, lotions, surgery recovery supplies, and supplements to assist with medical transition. binding, tucking, and packing supplies. facial/body reconstruction procedures. laser hair removal. hair re/growth medications. breastforms. the list just goes on and on. we have to pay in order to be ourselves in the most extreme ways possible. there's a tax on gender & biological sex.
