A Mortician’s Tale (2017)
Creative Director, Game Designer, and 2D/3D Artist
“A Mortician's Tale is a narrative-driven death positive video game where you play as a mortician tasked with running a funeral home. A Mortician's Tale is an informative, honest, and sometimes humorous look at the current state of and the future of the western death industry.”
The game is greatly inspired by Caitlin Doughty and The Order of the Good Death, and is a reflection of the current state of and the future of the western death industry.
I acted as creative director and game designer, directing the design, narrative, and managing a team of collaborators to build A Mortician’s Tale. I also created all of the in-game 2D and 3D art and UI assets and designed the game’s logo. A Mortician’s Tale is available now for PC/Mac through Steam, Humble, and Itch.io as well as iPhone and iPad. A Mortician’s Tale is made possible with support by Ontario Arts Council.

Play Dead Podcast
Host, Producer, and 3D Artist
I was the creator, host, and producer of the Play Dead Podcast, in which I talked with video game developers about their personal experiences with death and grief and how they explored those themes in their games. Play Dead ran for 3 seasons from 2016–2018. I also created the artwork and logo for the podcast’s cover.
You can subscribe to Play Dead on iTunes or Spotify, or listen to the podcast on That Shelf, Pocket Casts, or your podcast player of choice.
