He is HIM rn and is seen as the main face of RM especially with the old guard gone or on their last legs (eg Benz, Modric, Kroos). Is being at the same club as your potential rival a good strategy ?

Kylian and Jude' entourage have played strategic moves which have paid of very well. Kylian used RM to negotiate better contracts and all. Kylian and Jude might be a recipe for disaster. This is not about ego or pride this is about football and how Ky will be integrated in the team.
