I bought a little shelf for my peperomia obtusifolia and my watermelon peperomia. I might put one more plant with them.

Hello, everyone!! Thought I should pin an update post…
I’ve been very sporadic with this blog, but thanks to any of you who still follow me.
I went through phases with plants, and for a while it was like I just had some plants (which I loved) but it wasn’t a super exciting hobby anymore.
And then I got a scale infestation and ended up throwing away almost all of my plants. It was very discouraging.
But slowly over the past year I’ve been growing my collection and getting interested in the hobby again. I’ve gotten interested in certain plants I’d never had before like peperomias, calatheas, monstera (I have a baby one with 4 leaves so far), a rabbits foot fern (which has grown insanely large since I got it), and a jade plant. But I still also have the old favorites like some orchids, a spider plant, African Violets, a Thanksgiving cactus, purple oxalis…
As for fishkeeping, i kind of lost interest in that a long time ago. I had decided that I wasn’t going to buy any more fish and let the current ones live out their lives. Eventually I was left with a nerite snail and an Amano shrimp. The shrimp eventually died after having it for about 8 years. The snail lived to be about 9 years old (3 times its normal lifespan), so then I just decided to put my tank away and maybe start up the hobby again someday in the future.
Anyway, that’s where I’m at now. Hopefully I’ll be posting more regularly.
Also, if you want to check out my main blog (which is multi-fandom and random stuff), it’s this-is-a-love-story-isnt-it

My Jade plant is turning purple because it’s getting too much sun, but I actually think it looks really cool.
When I first got this plant, the edges of the leaves were all red and I thought it was SO cool. But then the red just turned back to green. But now with the angle of the sun, it’s turning purple.
I’ve had this happen with orchids, too. I’ve kept them in direct sunlight and the leaves would start to turn purple.

My Fittonia looks so good. I had one a long time ago that didn’t live very long, and I have a friend who has bad luck with them, so I’m really glad this one seems to be thriving.

Reblogging from my main account bc i came across this post i made in 2013.
I made a succulent and moss terrarium from the random square glass container that I had ghost shrimp in for a little while, leftover aquarium gravel, potting soil that was in my basement, two kinds of “hens and chicks” succulents from my front yard, some other weird purple succulent from my front yard, and two kinds of moss from the wetlands behind my house. 😄
